Patricia Kinzig
Patricia R. Kinzig, 74, of Yakima died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Fort Collins, Colo., and lived in Yakima for 40 years. She and her husband, Robert, owned and operated Kinzig Korner, a hardware store, for 25 years.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Jerry Kinzig of Seattle and Tom Kinzig of Temecula, Calif.; and a sister, Dorothy Moorman of Seattle.
At her request, there will be no services.
Deborah Lee Taylor
SEATTLE - Deborah Lee Taylor, 45, of Seattle passed away Friday, April 28, 2006 at home.
Deborah was born March 17, 1961 in Yakima where she received her education. As a young adult, she moved to Seattle where she has lived on and off for over 20 years. She is survived by her parents, Liggett & Glenda Taylor of Yakima; a daughter, Sian Argentina Taylor of Yakima; and a sister, Tammi Daquila of Spokane.
Viewing will be Thursday and Friday, May 4 & 5 at the Yakima Chapel of Valley Hills Funeral Home. Memorial Services are pending.
Judy Tschauner
YAKIMA – Judy Lee Tschauner, 67, of Yakima passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at home surrounded by her family.
Judy was born Dec. 14, 1938 in Yakima to Charles C. & Ruth A. (Martin) Meier. She received her education in Nursing and worked at Memorial Hospital as a Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse for 30 years.
She enjoyed horseback riding, camping, traveling, and shopping, but her favorite activity was spending time with her three children and grandchildren. Judy loved attending her grandkids’ sporting events.
Judy was the Benton-Franklin County Rodeo Princess in 1955 and has remained our princess these many years. She will be deeply missed by the many who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Tschauner of Yakima; three children, Troy & wife Diane, Tracy & wife Debby, and Kim and husband Brian Gohl; a brother, Charles A. Meier of Portland, OR; a sister, Vivian A. Croft of Walla Walla; six grandchildren, Molly & Amanda Tschauner, Brad & Michael Tschauner, and Tyler & Kylee Gohl. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or La Salle High School and may be left with funeral home staff at the time of services.
Visitation will be Sat., May 6 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Terrace Heights Chapel of Valley Hills Funeral Home. Rosary Vigil will be held Sunday, May 7 at 5 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 8 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Elizabeth Lillian Antanaitis
Elizabeth Lillian Antanaitis, 80, of Selah died Monday, May 1, 2006 at home.
Mrs. Antanaitis was born in Springfield, N.Y. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Benjamin Antanaitis of Selah; two sons, Theodore Antanaitis of Selah and Benjamin Antanaitis Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, David Wannamaker and Arthur Wannamaker of New York; a sister, Dorothy Feickert of Michigan; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
At her request, there will be no services.
Dorothy Marie (Elmore) Davison
TOPPENISH - Dorothy Marie (Elmore) Davison passed away on April 29, 2006 after a long battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by many friends around the Valley and around the world.
Dorothy was born in Humboldt, Nebraska on August 19, 1920. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1938 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a WAVE. While stationed in San Francisco she met Bill Davison whom she married on October 20, 1944. Dorothy and Bill celebrated 60 years of marriage before Bill passed away in November 2004. Dorothy and Bill had two sons. Tim is currently an Assistant Superintendent of Schools in the Eastmont School District, and Daniel plays piano at El Gaucho, in Seattle.
Dorothy was a secretary extraordinaire. She worked for 60 years before retiring at the age of 80. She worked in Toppenish at Seattle First National Bank, was the Secretary of the Toppenish Chamber of Commerce for many years, worked at Toppenish City Hall and for the Toppenish School District. In the early 1970's, she took a job with Labbee Mint in Harrah and worked there for many years and until her retirement. She looked at this job as her favorite and considered the Labbee's and her coworkers as a second family.
Dorothy and Bill loved Western Art and traveled extensively to art shows around the country. They made many friends with some of the finest artists of the genre. Both of them were members of the Toppenish Mural Society Board of Directors and were involved in helping make Toppenish "The City of Murals." Many hours of enjoyable work were had by Dorothy at the mural office meeting people and working with other board members to keep the mural project alive and well.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill and is survived by her two sons, Tim in East Wenatchee, and Daniel in Kent, her two daughters-in-law, Teri and Lisa and her five grandchildren.
There will be no services. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Toppenish Mural Society. A memorial for both Dorothy and Bill will be held in early June at a time and place to be announced. Carl Anton Nelson
Carl Anton Nelson, 92, of Yakima died Sunday, April 30, 2006 at Summitview Manor.
Nelson was born in Kansas City, Mo. He moved to Yakima in 1945 and worked as a truck driver for Crown Distributing until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Nelson of Yakima; and one daughter, Diane Hoggarth of Seattle.
A graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 5 at Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima.
Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Jack Caldwell
OUTLOOK - Jack D. Caldwell, 82, of Outlook passed away on April 28, 2006 at his home.
He was born on January 18, 1924 to John and Beulah (McCormick) Caldwell at Mooreland, Oklahoma where he was raised and educated.
During World War II he worked in the shipyards of California to support the war effort. After the War he returned to Oklahoma-Texas area where he met his wife and was wed on Sept. 7, 1947 to Mina Marie Moses at Stuart, NE. They ranched in North East Oregon for 5 years and came to the Sunnyside-Outlook area in 1952.
Jack was a member of Boilermakers Union #242, working on many Northwest Dams and large construction projects. He also spent much of his time on his farm in Outlook, raising cattle and crops. That was what he enjoyed in life.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mina Caldwell, his daughter, Barbara Carpenter of Anchorage, AK and his 2 sons, Mike (Geri) Caldwell of Auburn, WA and Dan (Kathy) Caldwell of Pasco, WA, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brothers, Bud (Pearline) Caldwell of Paden, OK, Joe (Judy) Caldwell of Union Gap, WA and 2 sisters, Peal Randall of Union Gap, WA and Corkey (Sid) Cooper of Plainview, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside, 345 N 11th Street, Sunnyside, WA.
