Lydia Pantoja Salazar
SUNNYSIDE - Lydia Pantoja Salazar 52 of Sunnyside has gone to be in the Arms of the Lord on April 28, 2006.
Lydia was born Nov. 18, 1953 in Pharr, TX, the daughter of Fermin Pantoja of Alamo, TX. and Ramona (Roman) Gonzalez of Sunnyside. She was raised in Reynosa, Taualipas where she fell in love with and married her husband Leobardo R. Salazar. In 1975 they moved to Washington for employment and later settled in Sunnyside, for the past thirty years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Lydia enjoyed listening and dancing to Tejano music. She also loved cooking, gardening, knitting, family gatherings and vacationing in McAllen, TX.
Aunt Maria Pantoja, Uncle Pedro Pantaja, Brother Guillermo Gonzalez, grandparents Jose and Petra Roman, step father Salome Gonzalez and Alejandro (Alex) Gonzalez precede her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years; her parents; her five children, Leobardo Salazar Jr. (Cynthia) of Prosser; Lydia Veronica Pina (Demetrio) of Outlook, Arnold Salazar (Jennifer) of Milwaukee, WI.; Guellermo Salazar (Angelica) of Sunnyside; Claudia Liz Barajas (Miguel Jr.) of Grandview; 6 beloved grandchildren, Derek and Ashley Salazar, Anthony, Angelo, and Nathanyel Pina and Lianna Salazar; her brothers and sisters, Juan Pantoja of Dallas, TX., Jose Isabel Pantoja of Pharr, TX., Ramiro Gonzalez (Delores) of Grandview, WA., Guadalupe Fleener (Gordon) of Grandview, Artemio Gonzalez (Stella), Terri Bermudez (Michael), Sonia Pacheco (Martin), John Gonzalez (Elena), Mary Gonzalez (Jose), all of Sunnyside; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm Monday, May 1, 2006 at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Sunnyside. Interment will follow in the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be on Monday, May 1, 2006 from Noon to 7:00 pm. Arrangements under the direction of Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside.
Valerie Ann (Goudie) Robertson
ZILLAH - Valerie A. Robertson, 70 of Zillah, passed away June 29th, 2006 at Yakima Regional Hospital. She was the oldest of 4 children, born on May 10, 1936 to Arthur and Margaret (Rowland) Goudie of Zillah. She attended Zillah schools, graduating in 1954. She graduated from St. Elizabeth's Nursing School. She married Gordon Robertson of Toppenish on July 5, 1958. She worked as a nurse for over 40 years. She began her career at Auburn General Hospital (12 years) and then moved back to Zillah and continued working at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She retired from St. E's/Providence Hospital in 1998. Even in retirement, she continued to give of her nursing skills, volunteering at the Hospital and at the Zillah Senior Center.
She and Gordon raised their children in Zillah. They loved camping and going to the beach with their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed organizing and attending family picnics and parties. She also loved spending time watching her grandchildren's activities and sporting events. She and Gordon were able to do a lot of traveling in and out of the country and she has several photo albums of their wonderful trips.
She is survived by three children, Greg (Michele) Robertson of Zillah, Chris (Laurie) Robertson of Zillah, and Heather (Rusty) Bounds of Zillah; ten grandchildren, a sister, Kathleen (Gary) Milsap of Port Angeles; and a brother, Mark (Judy) Goudie of Zillah. She is also survived by several cousins, aunts, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; her brother, Paul; and her parents. Graveside Services will be held Monday, July 3rd at 2 p.m. at the Zillah City Cemetery. A gathering to share memories and celebrate her life will be held at the Zillah Civic Center following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
Rosalia O'Shea
ZILLAH - Rosalie O'Shea, 94, of Zillah, passed away June 28, 2006 at her home. She was born at Blaine, Kansas on Oct. 4, 1911 to Joseph &Josie; Eisenbeis Walsh. She attended Blaine schools, graduating from the 12th grade at the Catholic School.
On Feb. 3, 1932, Rosalie married Ted O'Shea at Blaine, Kansas. In 1938, they moved to Wapato, WA. Ted passed away Dec. 17, 1991. Rosalie was a homemaker and with her husband, raised six children.
She is survived by two sons, James & Sherry O'Shea of Zillah, and Ken & Marilyn of Quincy; four daughters, Bernie Romero of Spokane, Bea Carmichael of Tacoma, Regina & Bob Hoier of Wisconsin, Carolyn & Clyde Carpenter of Moses Lake; a brother, Louis & Barbara Walsh of Yakima; 31 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband Ted, her parents, 9 brothers and sisters, 2 sons-in-law (Larry Romero & Dean Carmichael) and several grandchildren.
Viewing will be held Saturday from 1 until 4 p.m. at the Zillah Chapel of Valley Hills Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary will be held Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the Zillah Chapel of Valley Hills Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church in Zillah, with burial to follow in Zillah City Cemetery.
Lloyd M. Nobbs
YAKIMA - Lloyd M. Nobbs, age 73, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at Memorial Hospital. He was born in Coleman, MI to Lloyd and Clara Nobbs on November 18, 1932. He graduated from Coleman High School in 1950 and then served four years in the U.S. Navy. He met his wife, Velda in 1955 and they married on June 16, 1956.
Lloyd was always a faithful man to God, his family, his friends and his job. In his 20's he pastored a small church in Weyburn, Saskatchewan for three years. His first two children were born in Canada during that time. The family returned to the Tieton area in 1960. He continued to be very involved in the other churches he attended in the Tieton and Yakima area. During his time in the Yakima area, he worked 30 years for the Crest/Crystal Linen Company and never missed a day. After retiring from Crystal, he drove city bus part-time for three years. Even after being diagnosed with Parkinsons', he continued visiting the sick and elderly to comfort them and pray with them. He was always cheerful, upbeat and caring.
He is survived by his loving wife, Velda of Yakima, his daughter Janice Cook (Bob Cook, Jr.) of Tieton, WA, his son Jerry Nobbs (Colleen) of Enumclaw, WA, his daughter Valerie Anderson of Lynnwood, WA and his son Steve Nobbs (Kari) of Terrace Heights, WA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jarred, Justin (Amber), Jesse, Athena, Amber, Kurt and Kayla, four great-grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers; Genevieve Flock of Beaverton, MI, Clara Alice Carpenter of Clare, MI, Donald (Marilyn) Nobbs, of Midland, MI, James (Joyce) of Zillah, WA, one brother-in-law, Mel Bessey and one sister-in-law, Alice Nobbs. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents. one brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1 until 5 p.m. at the Yakima Chapel of Valley Hills Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 28 at 10 a.m. at Church on the Move with burial to follow in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.

Vera Lucille Foster
Vera Lucille Foster, 93, of Yakima died Saturday, June 24, 2006.
Mrs. Foster was born in Emporia, Kan. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald George Feaster of Richland and Chris Lee Foster of Yakima; three daughters, Bonnie Jo Feaster and Dorothy Sinclair, both of Yakima, and Kimberlee Foster of Selah; three brothers, Leon Yearout and Leroy Yearout, both of Seattle, and Don Yearout of Yakima; four sisters, Jean Mesler and Jo Howard, both of Yakima, Patty Stark and Gaynell Lacomb, both of Seattle; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a moment of silence at the Yearout Family Picnic at Eschbach Park on July 1 in Vera's honor.

Grace Marlon Dusseault
Grace Marlon Dusseault, 94, of Yakima died Sunday, June 25, 2006 at Willow Springs Care Center.
Mrs. Dusseault was born in Silverdale, Wash. She worked at Boeing as a riveter on B17 bombers during World War II. She played piano and organ in dance bands until her retirement, then gave music lessons.
Survivors include a son, Douglas Dusseault of Yakima; and two grandsons.
At Mrs. Dusseault's request, there will be no services.
Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Thomas D. Beasley
Thomas D. Beasley, 53, of Yakima was found dead Sunday, June 25, 2006 in Yakima.
Mr. Beasley was born in Dos Palos, Calif. He lived in Yakima for five years. He was a truck driver.
Survivors include his father, Thomas Beasley of Union Gap; and a brother, Jim Beasley of Yakima.
There will be no services.
