Lorraine Smith
Lorraine Harriet Smith, 82, of Prosser died July 1 in Yakima.
Mrs. Smith was born in Washington and had made the Lower Valley her home since the early 1950s.
Survivors include her husband, Darrell E. Smith of Prosser.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. July 17 at the United Methodist Church in Grandview. Inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Spokane at a later date.
Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, is in charge of arrangements.

Loyd Clement
Loyd Vernon Clement of Vancouver, Wash., died Friday at home.
Mr. Clement was born in Hoquiam, Wash., and graduated from Yakima High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1948-1952 and later worked as a commercial painter, retiring in 1993.
Survivors include one son, Randy Clement of Vancouver; one stepson, Frank Dyce of Vancouver; three daughters, Diane Clement, Tammy Cook and Penny Clement-Blevins, all of Vancouver; one sister, Dorothy Skaggs of Caldwell, Idaho; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Betty Bowers
Betty B. Bowers, 82, of Vancouver, Wash., formerly of Yakima, died June 29.
Mrs. Bowers was born in Ponca, Neb. She worked for Pacific Northwest Bell for 34 years and also had worked for the city of Seattle, Sears and Boeing. She lived in the Yakima area for 65 years, and the last three months in Vancouver.
Survivors include one daughter, Sheri I. Tyler of Vancouver.; and three great-grandchildren.
No formal services will be held at this time.
Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel of Vancouver are in charge of arrangements.

Kathryn Olson
Kathryn Nellie Olson, 94, of Yakima died Sunday.
Mrs. Olson was born in Mc-Keesport, Pa., and lived in Hollidaysburg, Pa., before retiring to Sun City, Ariz.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice Haven of Yakima; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. July 17 in Ward Chapel at First Presbyterian Church.

Helen Sak
Helen Sak, 86, of Toppenish died Sunday.
Mrs. Sak was born in Woodburn, Ore., and had lived in the Yakima Valley since 1922. She worked at St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, owned an 80-acre ranch outside of Toppenish with her husband and Jack Pritchett, and owned Sak and Pritchett Nursery in Toppenish. She retired in 1996.
Survivors include her husband, Val Sak of Toppenish; two sons, Lennie Sak and Thomas Sak of Toppenish; five daughters, Rosanna Long of Battleground, Wash., Donna Blakesley of Lynnwood, Wash., Louella Templeton of Spokane, Laura VanDoren of Edmonds, Wash., and Louise Long of Vancouver, Wash.; 27 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Rosary service will be at 6 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Alysius Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.

Fannie Mae Wells
Fannie Mae Wells, 94, of Longview, Wash., died Friday.
Mrs. Wells was born in Laverne, Okla., and moved to Toppenish in 1944. She worked at California Packing Co. and Stokleys, retiring in 1971.
Survivors include one son, Samuel Wells of Ryderwood, Wash.; four daughters, Ida Duncan and Twila Peterson of Toppenish; Lola Gardner of College Place, Wash., and June Boget of Belgrade, Mont.; 31 grandchildren, 60-plus great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Zillah Cemetery.
