Janelle Lafferty, 60, of Yakima died Saturday.
Mrs. Lafferty was born in Huron, S.D., and was lifetime resident of Yakima. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her father and stepmother, Earl Simpson and Mary Simpson of Yakima; one son, Michael Lafferty of Cowiche; one daughter, Robin Lujan of Union Gap; one brother, Darwin Simpson of Minnesota; two sisters, Shirley "Jan" Simpson of Yakima and LaRae Palmentier of Idaho; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Terrace Heights.

Tonie Tabares
Tonie Tabares, 78, of Sunnyside died Tuesday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.
Mrs. Tabares was born in Manzanola, Colo.
Survivors include three daughters, Delores Charvet and Victoria Perez of Pasco and Ramona Beltran of Toppenish; two sons, Art Tabares of Grandview and David Tabares of Sunnyside; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Friday and Monday beginning at 3 p.m., with a rosary to follow at 6 p.m., all at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.

Ethel May Austin
Ethel May Austin, 82, of Yakima died Saturday at Crescent Convalescent Center.
Mrs. Austin was born in Willow Springs, Mo., and lived in Yakima for 30 years.
Survivors include two sons, Oren Austin and Robert A. Austin of Yakima; three daughters, Joyce M. Austin of Yakima and Patti Hutcherson and Melva Allen of Missouri; and one brother, Sonny Jordon of Parker.
At her request, there will be no services.

Veronica Feist
Veronica Feist, 83, of Wenatchee died Monday at Central Washington Hospital.
Mrs. Feist was born and raised in Hague, N.D., and moved to Yakima in 1947. She and her husband recently moved to Wenatchee.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Feist of Wenatchee; one son, Jim Feist of Wenatchee; seven sisters, Agatha Schatz and Cecelia Moser of Yakima, Mercedes Weber of Seattle, Angie Kamla of Redmond, Wash., Elizabeth Bogulas of Tucson, Ariz., Katie Eberle of Hague, and Mary Hileman of Bowdle, S.D.; three brothers, John Materi of Yakima, Benny Materi of Mercer Island, Wash., and Tony Materi of Aberdeen, S.D.
Vigil service will be at 5:30 p.m. today at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Cathedral. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Calvin Gauthier
Calvin Gauthier, 90, of Yakima died Tuesday.
Mr. Gauthier was born in Toppenish. He was a farmer in the Toppenish area.
Survivors include five daughters, Marcella Gauthier of Bellevue, Wash., Mary Frances Redlinger of Beaverton, Ore., and Camilla Cash, Charlene Carlsen and Joyce Gauthier, all of Seattle; one sister, Lorraine Huylar of Yakima; six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, with concluding services at Elmwood Cemetery.

The Rev. David Wayne Carnell
The Rev. David Wayne Carnell, 47, of Kent, Wash., formerly of Yakima, died in Pierce County on Tuesday.
Rev. Carnell was born in Renton, Wash. He served as a field medic in the Army. He later founded a heavy metal band, "Metal Church." He had albums with Teragon, Leviathan and Reverend bands. He was an ordained minister.
Survivors include his father, Billy G. Carnell, and stepmother, Virginia Carnell of Zillah; his mother, Verna Schelling, and stepfather, Gene Schelling, of Ridgefield, Wash.; one daughter, Tanya Bernen; four brothers, Dennis E. Carnell and Douglas G. Carnell, both of Vancouver, Wash., Darryl O. Carnell of Yakima and Jerry Harness Carnell, of Portland.
Memorial services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Vancouver, Wash.
