Lee La Roche
Lee La Roche, 65, of Toppenish died Monday at Toppenish Community Hospital.
Mr. La Roche was born in Ardmore, Okla. He was a teacher in Dallas, Texas, from 1961 until 1962 and then in Toppenish from 1963 to 1967. The family then moved back to Texas, where he worked for Grand Prairie Tile Co., and owned his own company, B & L Plastering and Tile Co. In 1972 the family returned to Toppenish and Mr. La Roche worked as a sales associate for Armour Foods and Associated Grocers until 1980. From 1980 until the time of his death he taught at Toppenish Middle School.
Survivors include his wife, Betty La Roche of Toppenish; three children, Todd La Roche of Selah and Sean La Roche and Lisa La Roche of Toppenish; one sister, Glenda Stickney of Plano, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Viewing will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. The funeral will be at noon Saturday at the A.J. Strom Gymnasium, Toppenish Middle School gym, 104 Goldendale Ave., Toppenish. Interment will follow in the Zillah Cemetery.

Marian Louise Tufts
Marian Louise Tufts, 84, of Yakima died Sunday at home.
Mrs. Tufts was born and raised in Yakima.
Survivors include one son, James Scott of Vancouver, Wash.; one sister, Charlotte Carpenter of Davenport, Wash.; and one grandchild.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.

Martin Guerrero
Martin Guerrero, 41, of Sunnyside died Wednesday outside of Ellensburg.
Mr. Guerrero was born in Mexico and came to the Yakima Valley 21 years ago. He was a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Aurora Guerrero of Sunnyside; eight brothers, Francisco, Quirino, Manuel, Gonzalo, Roberto and Manuel, all of Mexico, Jose of California and Eustaquio of Grandview; and five sisters, Teresa, Jesus, Ana and Rosa Guerrero, all of Mexico, and Mercede of Othello.
Recitation of the rosary will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Sunnyside Chapel of Valley Hills Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sunnyside with burial to follow in Lower Valley Memorial Gardens. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside is handling arrangements.

Edith Vangen
Edith Vangen, 83, died Saturday at Good Samaritan in Yakima.
Mrs. Vangen was a homemaker. She lived in Toppenish for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Vangen of Yakima; three sons, Gary Clark of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Keith Clark of Pasco, and Larry Clark of Yakima; one stepson, Ron Vangen of California; one stepdaughter Christie Vangen of Depoe Bay, Ore.; two brothers, Walter and Ray Orr of Longview, Wash.; one sister, Millie Burris of Toppenish; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Loren Gerald Judson
Loren Gerald Judson, 61, of Yakima died Tuesday.
Mr. Judson was born in Aberdeen, Wash. He worked as a laborer in a local wrecking yard.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Judson of Tumwater, Wash.; a daughter, Janet Winstead of Olympia; a sister, Judy Bailey of Ocean Shores, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
At the family's request, there will be no services.
Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home, Yakima, is in charge of cremation arrangements.

John L. Rance
John L. Rance, 71, of Yakima died Thursday at Garden Village in Yakima.
Mr. Rance was born in Sumerall, Miss., and served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. He had lived in Yakima since 1955.
Survivors include his companion, Laura Higgins of Yakima; a son, Gregory Rance of Yakima; a daughter, Deborah Rance of Salt Lake City; a sister, Vivian Broussard of Houston; two brothers, Willie Rance of Houston and James Rance of Portland; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors.
