Mary Louise Carpenter
Mary Louise Carpenter, 80, of Ellensburg died Oct. 20 at her home.
Mrs. Carpenter was born and raised in Salt Gap, Texas. She lived in Grangeville, Idaho, before coming to Ellensburg in 1961. She worked at Ostrander's Drug Store.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Carpenter of Ellensburg and Don Carpenter of Hermiston, Ore.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial gathering for family and friends will be Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at the family home, 131 Brown Road.

Cecelio Cruz
Cecelio Cruz, 95, of Sunnyside died Wednesday at Hillcrest Manor, Sunnyside.
Mr. Cruz was born in Palafo, Texas. He was a farm worker foreman and worked for many years at Broadview Farms.
Survivors include three daughters, Irma Martinez of Sunnyside, Sandy Cavagnaro of Seattle and Gracie Bravo of Grandview; three sons, Aurtio Cruz of Grandview, Joe Cecil Cruz Jr. of Prosser and John Cruz of Sunnyside; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home Chapel, Sunnyside, and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Graveside funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.

Robert B. Day
Robert B. Day, 80, of Yakima died Monday.
Mr. Day was born in Bedford, Iowa. He moved to Yakima with his family in 1942. He served in the Navy in 1943. He worked for Automat as a sales manager and purchased Chinook Vending. He also worked in carpentry.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Day of Yakima; two daughters, Cheryl Day of Marysville, Wash., and Carla Waterbury; a son, Nicholas Day; a brother, Virgil Day, all of Yakima; two sisters, Maxine Branton of Kingwood, Texas, and Carolyn Day Mustain of Kennewick; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
At Mr. Day's request, no services will be held.

Anita Hanshew
Anita Hanshew, 65, of Naches died Tuesday in Yakima.
Mrs. Hanshew was born in Bruno, Ark. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Hanshew of Naches; a daughter, Margie Button of East Wenatchee; a son, Harold "Matt" Hanshew of Naches; three sisters, June, Shirley and Clara; a brother, Richard; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Naches.

Margaret Virginia Hill
Margaret Virginia Hill, 84, of Yakima died Wednesday at Hillcrest Assisted Living Center.
Mrs. Hill was born in Yakima. She and her husband lived for 15 years in Portland before retiring to Yakima.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Hill of Yakima; a daughter, Sandra Berry of East Valley; six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
At Mrs. Hill's request, no funeral service will be held.

Jeniece Rowen Schlecht
Jeniece Rowen Schlecht, 95, died Sept. 21 in San Rafael, Calif.
Mrs. Schlecht was born in Granville, N.D. She lived for more than 50 years in Toppenish, where she owned a barbershop.
Survivors include her cousin, Nellie Benedetti of Yakima.
A remembrance gathering for friends and relatives will be at noon Monday at the Oxford Suites, 1701 E. Yakima Ave.

Norma Jean Phillips
Norma Jean Phillips, 71, of Yakima died Sept. 3 at Yakima Regional Cardiac and Medical Center.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Tishomingo, Okla. She settled in Yakima in 1944. She then moved to the San Francisco Bay area in 1963. She and her husband owned and operated a ranch in Plymouth, Calif. She returned to Yakima in 1999 after her husband's death.
Survivors include a daughter, Tami R. Beal of Burien, Wash.; a brother, Floyd Linden Tolbert of Tacoma; and a sister, Charlotte D. Farrow of Yakima.
Graveside services were Sept. 7 at Floral Hills Cemetery in Lynwood, Wash.
Purdy and Walters at Floral Hills was in charge of arrangements.
