Robert Bryon "Bob" Peterson
YAKIMA - Robert Bryon "Bob" Peterson, 44, of Yakima, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2003, at his residence.
Bob was born June 8, 1959, in Yakima, to Sidney and Lina (Hicks) Peterson. He is survived by his mother, Lina Peterson of Selah; a son, Lucas T. Peterson; three brothers; Sidney Peterson and his wife Jerrilynn of Yakima, Ted Peterson and his wife Kathy of Union Gap, and Jim Peterson of Yakima; four sisters; Jeannie Peterson of Yakima, Sherry Gilliam and her husband Norm of Moxee, Lavina Jacobs of Yakima and Esther Norton of Selah; his special nephews, David Peterson of Yakima and Dustin Norton of Selah and several other nieces and nephews, all of Yakima.
Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lillie Miller, Stella Peterson, Clarence Hicks and Louis Peterson; brothers-in-law, Larry Heath and Jim Jacobs and his very special friend David Hudson.
Bob loved to detail cars and was very good at it! He also liked helping his friend Marty down at the scrap yard, before he became ill and could no longer work.
I had a thought the other day,
as I packed some of your things away
we never had a chance to say the right kind of goodbye.

I love you and will miss you until we meet again.

Norman W. Forman
SHORELINE - Norman W. Forman, 87, of Shoreline, WA passed away Saturday, January 3, 2004 at the Park Ridge Skilled Nursing Center.
Norman was born September 27, 1916 in Buena, WA to Walter and Daisy (Yapp) Forman. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On November 22, 1945, he married Edith Irene Halsey in Zillah, WA.
His hobbies included woodworking, carpentry, traveling, working crossword puzzles and he was an avid reader.
He is survived by nieces, Nancy and husband, John Smith of Seattle, Letha and husband, Mike McKinnon of Lynnwood and Claudia and husband, Ben Fay of Yakima and a nephew, Jim and wife, Eunice Forry of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Edith Forman on April 9, 2000 and a niece, Darlajean Dill.
Viewing will begin Thursday, January 8, 2003 from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 9, 2004 at 12 noon at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Burial will follow in West Hills Memorial Park.

Guadalupe Silva, Jr.
PASCO, WA - Guadalupe Silva Jr., of Pasco, died January 1, 2004 at the age of 47. He was born January 23, 1956 in Edenburg, Texas to Juanita and Guadalupe Silva, Sr.
Guadalupe married Marla Silva on August 28, 1974, together they had a daughter Cindy Marie and a son Michael Eugene. He is also survived by other children who are Lupi, Teresa, Mary, Christina and Arturo; bothers and sisters, Dora Hernandez from Yakima, Rodolfo Silva from Yakima, Alma Palma from Toppenish, Antonio Silva from Yakima, Mary Reyes from Union Gap, Linda Silva from Missouri, Gilberto Silva of Yakima, Yolanda Garcia from Seattle, Margarita Mireles from Prosser, Juanita Mariscal of Yakima and Anna Martinez from Prosser and 4 grandchildren: Christopher, Dulce, Mercedes and Gabriela.
Preceding Guadalupe in death are his parents, Guadalupe Sr. and Juanita Silva who passed away in 2001, and a son, Joshua Silva.
Visitation will be at Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 6, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday before the funeral. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at Colonial Funeral Home with concluding services at Elmwood Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were made through Colonial Funeral Home.
Gwendolyn Joan Guthrie
YAKIMA - Gwendolyn Joan Guthrie passed away January 2, 2004 at Chesterly Meadows in Yakima. Joan was born on January 1, 1922 in Whitewood, Saskatchewan. Eldest daughter of William and Emma Rochon. Joan is survived by her sister, Trixie Nichols.
Joan married G. Walter Guthrie in 1942 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Joan and Walter have four children, Gail and Fred Brien, Judy and Ralph Mizell, Delwin Guthrie and Marvin Guthrie. All of whom survived Joan and Walter. Joan is also survived by her grandchildren, Dan Brien, Darren Brien, Devon Brien and Jayson Hurd, Darren Mizell and Mandy Beaudry; five great-grandchildren, Katie Brien, Cole Brien, Spencer Brien, Samantha Brien, and Natatasha Brien; and nieces and nephews.
Joan moved with her family in 1959 from Regina, Saskatchewan to Surrey, British Columbia. In 1966 the family moved to Yakima and resided to the present time. Joan had a passion for gardening and enjoyed the time she spent making her yard beautiful. Joan was very dedicated to the Holy Family Parish where she attended services and many other functions. Family and friends loved her dearly. Joan will be missed by all who knew her. An Angel returned to heaven.
A time for final visitation has been set aside at Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors, 201 N 2nd Street, on Thursday, January 8, 2004, beginning at 1:00 p.m. A Vigil service will be held at Shaw and Sons on Thursday, January 8, 2004 at 6:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, January 9, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements in the care of Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors.
W. Ronald "Ron" Jenkins
YAKIMA - W. Ronald "Ron" Jenkins, age 92, of Yakima, died January 4, 2004 at Renaissance Care Center. Ron was born August 17, 1911 in Yakima where he has been a lifetime resident.
Ron attended Yakima Senior High School and graduated in 1931. He later met and married his wife, Dorothy and had been married for 55 years. Ron worked for City Peerless and Crest Company for twenty-six years; Dorothy worked for Sea First Bank for thirty-nine years. They had three boys.
Ron's past hobbies included fishing and dancing. He was a longtime active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church; was a charter member of the West Valley Lions Club and had been involved with Toastmasters of Yakima.
He leaves his wife, Dorothy, at home; son, Robert Andrew Jenkins, Chehalis; and a sister, Betty Heinl, of Portland, Ore. He was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald F. Jenkins and Rodney Jenkins; brothers, Tom Jenkins and Frederick Jenkins.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, January 10, 2003 at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Memorial Services will follow at 12 Noon at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 801 Tieton Drive, Yakima. Visitation will be Thursday and Friday from 4-8 PM at Keith and Keith Funeral Home on Ninth Avenue. Memorial contributions are suggested to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Jane Ann Howtopat-Johnson
WAPATO - Jane Ann Howtopat-Johnson, 56, of Wapato, WA, went to be with the Creator Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Emerald Circle Convalescent Center in Wapato, WA.
Jane was born on August 5, 1947 in Toppenish, WA to Johnny "Sharky" Howtopat and Bessie Yahyowan. She was an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation. Jane was active and participated in the Shaker and Washat religion while growing up. Jane was a devoted mother, friend and a loving grandmother to four grandchildren all of Auburn, WA. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sitting on the porch listening to her beautiful wind chimes and collecting hummingbird figurines.
Jane is survived by her husband, Douglas Johnson of Wapato, WA; her children, Margot Johnson of Wapato, WA, William Anderson, Jr. and Tammie Anderson both of Auburn, WA, Natasha Wahsise of Toppenish, WA and Len Nessa Abrahamson of Auburn, WA; brothers, George Yahyowan and Anthony Howtopat both of Wapato, WA; sisters, Lynette Abella, Carla Spencer, Winona Lozier all of Wapato, WA, and Lila Whitefoot of Auburn, WA; uncles, Clifford and Nelson Moses of Wapato, WA, and one aunt, Joanne Andy of White Swan, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie Yahyowan and Johnny Howtopat, her brother, Don Howtopat, one daughter, Billie Jo Anderson and three grandchildren, Sandra Lee Anderson, Alexandria M. Anderson and Baby Morrison.
Dressing services were held Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the Merritt Funeral Home Chapel. She was then transported to the family home for a brief Shaker service and then moved to the Wapato Longhouse for overnight services. Burial and concluding services will be in the Union Gap Cemetery Thursday, January 22, 2004 at 7:00 a.m. Merritt Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
