Arlington, WA - Chris Harry Thorsborg passed away on Sept. 14, 2008, after a long illness following a surgery.
Chris is survived by his brother, John Thorsborg (Victoria); sisters, Anne Fallow (Duncan) and Iris Lochmanetz (Whitecourt); nieces, Cynthia Hamilton (Abbotsford); Christinina Lochmanetz (Duncan); Correen Hiebert (Whitecourt); Candice Andersen (Stony Plain) and nephew, West Lochmanetz (Duncan), all Canadian. He will be missed by his dear friends Joan, Susan, Karen, Chuck, Jean, Keith, Morgan, Mark, Mary Ann and many others.
On Oct. 4, 2008, at 11 a.m. the family of Chris Thorsborg would like to invite all for an informal service to express publicly some words in honor of Chris’s life at Beck’s Funeral Home, 405 Fifth Avenue S, Edmonds, 425-771-1234.
Root, Blossom
Arlington, WA - Blossom Root died on Sept. 10, 2008 from complications of pneumonia.
She was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Brooklyn, N.Y. She received her nurse’s training at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and her Bachelor’s Degree from Hunter College.
On May 29, 1946, she married Rev Charles Root. She lost her loving husband, Charles, in 1993.
She has three sons and seven grandchildren, Charles Jr. (Sara); Lee (Sue) both of Omak, Wash.; and Ken (Sue) of Arlington, Wash.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Marysville United Methodist Church on Sept. 13, at 3 p.m. Those wishing to memorialize her lifetime of service are asked to send donations to the United Methodist Board of Missions or to the youth programs of the Marysville United Methodist Church; either in care of the Marysville UMC at 5600 64th NE, Marysville, WA 98270.
Lindberg, Steven
Arlington, WA - Steve Donald Lindberg was born Oct. 20, 1948, in Mt. Vernon, Wash.
He died suddenly at his home in Lakewood, Wash., Sept. 8, 2008.
He is survived by his parents, Peter and Sally Lindberg; brother, Scott and wife Janna; sister, Sue Ann Perry of Marysville, Wash.; nieces Carrie Gross and husband Dan; Stacey Showlund; Adrian Perry; Megan Gross; Zoey Phillips; and nephews Brock Lindberg and Connor Gross.
A time of remembrance will be held at the Pioneer Hall in Arlington on Sept. 27, 2008, at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VFW or American Legion in Arlington or the charity of your choice.
Freeman, E. "Maggie" Magdalen
Arlington, WA - E. ‘Maggie’ Magdalen Freeman, 95, passed away on Sept. 4, 2008, at her daughter’s home in Arlington, Wash.
She was born to Andrew Jackson and Mary Francis Hendricks on Aug. 27, 1913, in Tres Pinos, Calif. Maggie graduated from Livingston High School of Livingston, Calif., in 1935.
She enjoyed sewing, painting and gardening. Maggie was known for being a strong, outgoing and artistic woman.
Surviving Maggie are her daughters, Barbara Elsie Hopper of Arlington; Royalee Russllyn Cannon of Kent, Wash.; Jessie Elizabeth Ann Cravens of Arlington; 14 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Maggie was preceded in death by her daughter, Elva Jane Eckles; her first husband Roy Russell Pierce, fire chief of Santa Clara County for many years; and her second husband, Chief Petty Officer Roy George Freeman.
Services will be held Friday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m., at St. Aidans Episcopal Church, Camano Island, Wash.
Inurnment will be held at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy, Calif. Date to be announced.
Myrtle Craig
Myrtle Irene Craig, 89, of Yakima passed away Monday, April 20, 2009 at Toppenish.
Myrtle was born in Buena, WA. She was a long time valley resident. Prior to retirement, she worked in the fruit warehouse industry.
She is survived by a son, Richard Craig and his wife June of Zillah. There are no services scheduled.
Elizabeth Anna Lee
Elizabeth Anna Lee, 84, of Federal Way, Wash., formerly of Yakima, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Mrs. Lee was born in LaCrosse, Wis. She worked as an apple packer for Cowiche Growers and did janitorial work for Kwik-Loc. She moved to Federal Way in 2008.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Lee of Puyallup, Wash., and Robert Lee of Federal Way; a sister, Louella Pierce of Michigan; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A family memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
Donald Wallace Faulkner Sr.
Donald Wallace Faulkner Sr., 70, of Ellensburg died Thursday, April 23, 2009. He was born in Toppenish and worked as a truck driver. He also served in the Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey L. Faulkner of Ellensburg; three sons, David L. Faulkner of Safford, Ariz., and Donald W. Faulkner Jr. and Raymond W. Faulkner, both of Ellensburg; a daughter, Penny L. (Faulkner) Cole of Ellensburg; a brother, Ed Dolli of Ellensburg; two sisters, Patricia Gilmore and Barbara Folden, both of Tacoma; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
There will be no services at his request. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory, Yakima.
Maria Ruelas
Maria Ruelas, 79, of Sunnyside died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Sunnyside Community Hospital. Mrs. Ruelas was born in Michoacan, Mexico, and lived in Sunnyside for 18 years.
Survivors include her husband, Jose Ruelas of Sunnyside; a daughter, Demira Stewart of Sunnyside; eight grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 26 at the Sunnyside Chapel of Valley Hills Funeral Home. The rosary will follow at 5 p.m., also at Valley Hills. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 27 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.
