Patricia Elaine Stevens
YAKIMA - Patricia (Dee) Stevens was called home by the Lord after a long and courageous battle with cancer on April 23, 2009 at her home in Yakima, Washington, surrounded by her loved ones.
Patricia was born on September 4, 1945 to Clarence and Clover Ouelette in Yakima, Washington. Patricia spent a big part of her childhood in Walla Walla, Washington before moving back to the Yakima Valley.
Patricia met Bob C. Stevens, who lived across the street, and they soon became sweethearts. They married on September 9, 1963. They soon moved to Gleed, Washington and started their family. Patricia worked many years in the fruit business.
Patricia was known as Mom, Grandma, Daughter, Sister, Dee, and Kizzy; regardless of the nickname, it all said the same thing. She was loved by all. Patricia was loyal, patient, caring, generous and loved by all who knew her. It is rare to find a heart so large in someone so small. Patricia was MOM to many people.
Mom loved to travel, loved the ocean and camping in the mountains. Mom was a fishing fool and loved a good fish fry. Mom spent many an hour at Tim's Pond fishing with her family. Patricia loved to go on road trips with her brother Roger and Mom Clover to many different places including trips to Montana.
Mom was a creative person. She liked to draw, paint and crochet. Mom loved her flowers and watching birds. Mom loved her animals and treated them like her kids. Mom was loved dearly by her family. Patricia was the best Grandma. She loved her grandkids from the bottom of her heart. Patricia will always be remembered and cherished for her sweet and loving nature and for her devotion to her family and friends. Mom had an incredible sense of humor and a smile that could brighten a room with or without her teeth in.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Bob C. Stevens, brother Frank and by her parents.
Patricia is survived by her daughters Tina Jorgensen of Yakima, Tresa Stevens of Yakima, Tammy Halterman and husband Tom of Moses Lake, WA, Mary Jean Morris and husband Kent of Coeur d'Alene Idaho and Danielle Carrillo of Yakima; her grandchildren Bobby Joe Stevens of Moses Lake, WA; John Jorgensen, Jeremy Jorgensen, Tad Stevens, April Stevens all of Yakima; her brothers Roger Ouelette of Yakima, Ronnie Ouelette and wife Loretta of Yakima, and by many numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A very special thanks to the ones who spiffed up mom's house so she could come home from the hospital and be comfortable.
The Lord blessed us with Patricia's presence. We were granted a gift to have known a person like her. She will be greatly missed until the time comes when our paths cross and we are together again.
Some people come into our lives and quietly stay. Others stay for a while leaving footprints in our hearts and we are never the same.
We love you, Mom! Thank you for being our Mommy. Have fun with Daddy.
A family memorial potluck will be announced at a later date.

James (Jim) Albert Heilman
GRANGER - Jim died suddenly at his home on April 25, 2009. He was 76 years old. He was born on December 20, 1932 to Matthew and Sena Heilman. He grew up in the Harrah/Wapato area. He graduated in 1951 from Marquette High School in Yakima. Shortly after graduation, he joined the Air Force and served in the Korean War. After serving his duty, he helped his father with the family farm in the Granger/Zillah area until it was sold. He continued working in agriculture and eventually bought his own small farm on Thacker Road in Granger. He worked in construction for over 30 years, retiring from A & B Asphalt in Benton City.
He was a simple man... very hardworking, very strong willed, down to earth, and generous. He was especially passionate about his farm and his garden. Each year we looked forward to his lush garden. He loved the land and working outdoors, and he was very good at it. He had a special talent of always predicting the weather, giving him that extra bit of a "green thumb".
He also enjoyed spending time with his sons at "the shop", working on cars and various other projects. Jim truly loved spending time and socializing with family and friends. He was definitely a home body. When his wife Eleanor was still with us, he always looked forward to Sunday dinners with the family. His greatest joy was spending time with his ten grandchildren.
Jim had a crazy sense of humor, always joking and teasing... mostly "cracking himself up" and boy was his laugh unforgettable! His smile would brighten the room. He will be deeply missed.
He has now found the home that our mother has preceded to build for us. May they both be free and at peace in their new beginning.
Jim is survived by his two brothers: Ivan and Robert; and his two sisters: Marilyn Patnode and Shirley Britz. By his four daughters: Susan Maltos (husband Ray), Sandra Faucher (husband Tony), Cheryl Rodriguez (husband Crispin), Wendy Heilman and his three sons: Matthew (wife Mercedes), Nickolas, and Paul (wife Sandy). Ten grandchildren: Daniel (wife Mercedes); Michael and Rachael; Ashley and Renee; Andrew, Andrea, and Adrian; Devin and Katrina. Lastly, by his five great grandchildren: Mikaela, Elena, Denae, Sophia, and Aleera.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents Matthew & Sena Heilman; wife Eleanor, son Jimmie, brother Ken, and sister Lilian Kott.
