Ruth loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to sew crochet, and knit, and over the years made many cherished keepsakes for family.

The Duffys’ loved to camp, and the family has great memories of the fun trips to Ohanapecosh, Indian Flats, and many other Northwest campsites.
We cherish the time we had with Ruth and we are so blessed that she was the strong, hardworking, loving, and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.

Sherry Ann Smith
Sherry Ann Smith of Zillah, born on January 26, 1949, was promoted to her heavenly home on February 4, 2011, nine days after her 62nd birthday.
Sherry was the youngest of twelve children born to the home of Elmer and Stella Bickerstaff in Kilgore, Texas. Her life was touched by sorrow at the deaths of her parents while she was still young, and the following years were hard as she struggled to find her way through life. At the age of 28, though, Sherry found the peace for which she had been searching when Jesus Christ touched her life and changed it forever. Even through difficult circumstances that followed, her love for and gratitude to her Savior were evident in everything she did.
Sherry lived in many different places throughout her life and held a variety of jobs. She moved to Zillah, WA in 1997 to be near her daughter and family. She worked at Wal-Mart in various positions during the following thirteen years, making friends among the ones with whom she worked.
There were a number of things that brought real joy to Sherry. Among them are her loving children and grandchildren, to whom she gave of herself in numerous ways; working with the flowers and plants that brought such pleasure to her beauty-loving heart; her many friends; her church family; and playing board games with the people she loved.
Sherry will be remembered by those who knew her as a sweet person who loved to give -- her time, her talents, gifts (she had a knack for thinking of unusual gifts that were very practical and enjoyed by the recipient!) -- anything that let others know that she cared about them.
Sherry is survived by her children and their spouses: Terri (Andrew) Taylor, and James (Carmen) Smith, all of Zillah; six grandchildren: Karina, Alex, Quinn, Malorie, Seth, and Reagan; and five siblings: Betty, Ruby, Jane, Mary, and David. She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings: Ted, James, Miriam, Elmer, Paul, and Bobby.
A memorial service to celebrate Sherry's life will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at Faith Community Church (300 W. Centennial Dr., Zillah, WA). Valley Hills Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
