Galdino Cantu Sr.
Galdino Cantu Sr., age 92, of Granger died Friday, April 29, 2011, at home surrounded by family.
Galdino was born in Edinburg, Texas, the son of Eutacio and Isabel Cantu. He worked as a farm laborer and was a musician for most of his life. In January of 1943 he married his wife Dominga. They moved to Granger in 1961.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dominga; sons, Juan and Robert Cantu; and daughters, Estela Cantu, Bertha Cantu, Sandra Galegos, Maria Cantu and Anita Vargas.
Galdino is survived by 9 sons, Leonardo Cantu, of Granger, Anselmo Cantu, of Granger ,Galdino Cantu Jr. of Woodbridge, Va., Atilano Cantu of Irvine, Calif., Pedro Cantu of Grandview, Antonio Cantu, Miguel Cantu of Yakima, Andres Cantu of Granger and Samuel Cantu of Sunnyside; five daughters, Francisca Ovalle of Woodburn, Ore., Beatris Cavasos of Zillah, Manuela Mendoza of Wenatchee and Oralia Cantu and Delia Cantu, both of Yakima; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. , Wednesday, May 4,with Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m., at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Zillah. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 5, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Granger. Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah is in care of the arrangements.
Diane Lopez Rincon
Diane Lopez Rincon, 16, of Outlook died Friday, April 29, 2011.
Ms. Lopez Rincon was born in Prosser. She was an 11th-grader at Sunnyside High School.
Survivors include her father, Jose Lopez; her mother, Maria Rincon; a daughter, Isabella Lopez; three brothers, Elias Rincon, Jose Angel Lopez and Jonathan Lopez, all of Outlook; and her grandparents, Carme Ceja, Alfredo Rincon, Narcissa Gomez and Angel Lopez, all of Mexico.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m., at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with burial to follow at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
Donald Eugene Taylor, Sr.

Donald Eugene Taylor, Sr., passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 27, 2011. Don was born on October 21, 1931 in Everett, WA.
Don enjoyed motorcycling in his early years with his brother, Harry, and hunting and snowmobiling at his cabin in Tampico with friends and family. He always had a passion for animals, big and small.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jerry, of 51 years; his brother, Harry and his wife, Patty of Athena, OR; his son, Terry and his wife, Debra of Yakima; his daughter, Debi Sanchez of Fall City, WA; his son, Don, Jr., of Yakima; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all of those who cared for Don at Landmark Care Center in Yakima.
There will be no services at his request but the family will act together to celebrate his life and share memories.
Lonzo Durey
Lonzo Durey, 59, of Zillah died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in Yakima. Mr. Durey was born in California. He worked as an orchard manager in Zillah.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Durey of Zillah; two sons, Roger Durey and Scott Durey of Yakima; a daughter, Angie Belling of Zillah; his father and mother, Alonzo Durey and Addie Durey of Tieton; and two sisters, Betty Taylor of Toppenish and Kathy Grubenhoff of Zillah.
No services are scheduled. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home of Zillah.
Leona J. Fauver
Leona Jane Fauver, 86, of Yakima died Monday, April 25, 2011. Mrs. Fauver was born in Kerwin, Kan., and moved to Washington at age 5. She worked as a bookkeeper in the construction industry.
Survivors include three sons, Douglas Fauver and Ron Fauver, both of Walla Walla, and Clifford Fauver of Milton-Freewater, Ore.; three daughters, Annette Bauer of Snoqualmie, Loretta Harrell of Milton-Freewater and Patty Hobson of Pasco; a brother, Wes Miller of Walla Walla; five sisters, Edith Hiest, Clella Ann Jones and Jean Grospe, all of Yakima, Lois McCloud of Pinehurst, Idaho, and Charlet Nicum of Benton City; 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
At her request, no services will be held. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
Maria Garibaldo
Maria Garibaldo, 39, of Sunnyside died Saturday, April 23, 2011.
Mrs. Garibaldo was born in Michoacan, Mexico. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at Crescent Place.
Survivors include her father, Jesus Tapia; three daughters, Maria Mariscal and Anna Bedolla, both of Mabton, and Valerie Bedolla of Sunnyside; two sons, Ricardo Bedolla of Sunnyside and Daniel Bedolla of Mabton; four brothers, Roberto Tapia, Jose Tapia and Efrain Tapia, all of Porterville, Calif., and Rogelio Tapia of Lindsey, Calif.; and two sisters, Rosa Zavala of Porterville and Judy Tapia of Concord, Calif.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday, with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m., at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Other services are pending. Burial will be in Porterville.
Frank W. Kuchnicki
Frank Wolfgang Kuchnicki, 59, of Yakima died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at home. Mr. Kuchnicki was born in Germany and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. He lived in Alton, Ill., where he worked in steel fabrication. The last 10 years he lived in Yakima and worked as a security officer.
Survivors include a son, Frank Kuchnicki Jr. of Alton; a daughter, Erika Jacobs of Godfrey, Ill.; and two brothers, Peter Kuchnicki of Missouri and Gary Kuchnicki of Alton.
No services have been planned at this time. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
Beatrice T. Harrison
Beatrice Thelma Harrison, 97, of Selah died Thursday, April 21, 2011 at her daughter's home in Yakima. Mrs. Harrison was born in Westfield, N.Y., and moved to the Grandview area at age 4. She was raised in Benton City before moving to Selah in 1937. She was a homemaker and also did orchard work.
Survivors include a daughter, Myrna Weinman of Yakima; two sisters, Donna Davis of Benton City and Ruth Turner of Longview, Wash.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Private burial will take place in Tahoma Cemetery. A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Summitview Clubhouse in Yakima. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
