He married Josephine Anna (Blair) Jenson, also of Granger, on July 3rd, 1937 in Granger.
In 1944, dad was shipped to England and then to France to fight. Dad was a member of the BTRY CO. 174th FA Battalion in World War II. He was in the Tank Division, working as a repairman. He also saw action at The Battle of the Bulge against France and then was moved to fight the Germans. (Dad was gone 2 years, 3 months and 7 days) and as luck had it, he came home without a scratch on him.
During his married life, dad was a very busy man. He picked fruit with his wife by his side; in the 1940s he worked for Cascade Gas Company in Toppenish; during the summer months, he spent working in wheat harvest for the Klinworth’s of Connell.
For a short time, he also worked for Tidewater Barge Lines, riding the Columbia River on a barge which was based out of Portland, Oregon and then he worked for a short time at the U & I sugar plant in Toppenish.
During his younger years, he drove truck, hauling mostly hay, for his father-in-law, Joseph Blair. In 1969, he left the Granger area and went to work for South Columbia Irrigation District where he was a ditch rider, delivering water to all of his route customers. He was with them for 9 years and when he retired, Marion and his wife moved back to the Yakima area. In the lull times, he worked a lot with wood, making furniture for their home, wishing wells for friends as well as family, and chest of drawers for their grandchildren as they were born, and reading western books by Louis Lamour. Together, he and Josephine had the chance to make several treks to Arizona during the winter months and really enjoyed being in the warmth when it was cold here at home in Washington. Dad also enjoyed gardening and working in the yard.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents, Emmanuel and Maude Jenson; his brothers Guy Jenson, Paul Jenson, Dwight Jenson and Buford Jenson and his only sister Donna (Jenson) Van Ness.
