Doris Eileen Miller
Doris Eileen Miller, 75, of Union Gap died Wednesday, February 4, 2009.
Mrs. Miller was born in Central City, Neb. She worked in the agricultural industry.
Survivors include her husband, Max Miller of Union Gap; a daughter, Kathy; and a sister, Marjorie Huele of Columbus, Neb.
A service will be held in Nebraska at a later date.
Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory in Yakima is in charge of arrangements.
Fannie Elaine Shopbell
Fannie Elaine Shopbell, 88, of Ellensburg died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 in Yakima.
She was born in Alberta, Canada, and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Larry Shopbell of Ellensburg; a brother, Jess Newell of Couer d'Alene, Idaho; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
There will be no services.

Martha McLean-Trayan
Martha McLean- Trayan, age 52, of Granger, went to be with her Lord and savior on Thursday, February 5, 2009.
Marty was born in Port Angeles, Wa. to Paul and Tommye Richey. On May 23, 1998 she married Kevin Trayan in Granview, Wa. and resided in Granger until the time of her death. Marty was a nurse for 30 years and worked in several nursing homes and hospitals in the valley. Her strength for the Lord showed through her work with the many lives she touched and cared for. Marty had a great gift of painting (Acrylic and Pastels) and she had many paintings in her home that she loved to show people. Some of her paintings were showed at Art shows and she received awards from Allied Arts and the Larson Gallery.
Marty loved spending time with her family and friends, and she also had a very special passion for her animals Boo-Boo, Daisy and Mocha. Marty was a member of the Christian Worship Center (Church of God-Zillah) in Zillah, Wa.
Marty is survived by her husband Kevin of Granger, 1 daughter; Collette Van Voris of Manteca, Ca., 2 sons; Billy Bedah (Peggy) of Sunnyside, Adam McLean (Hiedi) of Yakima, 2 sisters; Theo Richey of Yakima, Ivel Lee Lilly of Grandview, 4 brothers; Paul Richey of Mabton, Pete Richey (Gracie) of Yakima, William Richey of Yakima and John Richey of Seattle, her In-Laws Steve and Dorothy Trayan of Sawyer, Wa., 14 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 11:00am at the Christian Worship Center, 204 Cheyne Rd., Zillah, Wa. Arrangements are in the care of Valley Hills Funeral Home-Zillah.
Charles William Lewis
Charles William Lewis, 92, of Yakima died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009 at Parkside Nursing Care Center in Union Gap.
Mr. Lewis was born in Faribault, Minn., and served in the military. He worked as a traveling salesman for Seattle Hardware, then Pacific Marine Schwabacher. He later worked for St. Vincent de Paul.
Survivors include a son, John C. Lewis of Yakima, and a daughter, Janet M. Jones of Oregon.
At his request, there will be no services.

Robert Joseph Kloat
Robert Joseph Kloat, 70, of Selah died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at Selah Convalescent.
He was born in Yakima. He served in the Army and worked as a radio announcer in The Dalles, Ore. He was also a cannery worker for Stadelmans and Sno-Kist.
Survivors include a brother, Arlan Kloat of Selah.
There will be no services at Mr. Kloat's request.

Donald Albert George
Don George passed away Monday, February 9, 2009 at the age of 81.
He was born January 11, 1928 in Ellensburg, WA, to Emil and Bertha George.
He lived most of his life in the Yakima and Kittitas Valley areas.
Don graduated from Thorp High School in 1946 and went on to Washington State College where he earned a B. S. in Agricultural Chemistry in 1950. Don then entered Officer's Training School and began active duty as a Second Lieutenant in June 1951 at Fort Ord, CA. He fought in M Company of the 179th Regiment of the 5th Division in the Asiatic Theatre during the Korean War. Don was discharged from active duty in February 1953 and transferred into the Washington State Army National Guard. In October of 1955, he began a career as a research chemist at the United States Department of Agriculture in Yakima. In April of that year, Don married Dovie Esther King. Their family became three in 1957 and four in 1968. To keep busy once retired, Don and Esther bought a concord grape vineyard in Zillah, WA and sold their harvest to Welch's.
Don retired from the National Guard in June 1980 and from the USDA in July 1986. Around 1990, they sold the vineyard and moved to a retirement community in Yakima. After moving to Yakima, Don began crop adjusting for Rain and Hail Insurance, which he enjoyed because he got out and met interesting people. Don and Esther enjoyed traveling the world and spending time with their friends and family, especially their grandchildren. They were proud to have seen two of their grandchildren graduate from High School and go on to college.
Don is survived by four brothers and their families: Ben, Phil, Keith and Will, his children Jeffrey and Susan (Davis), and by five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Esther.
Viewing will be on Thursday, February 19, 2009 from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima, and funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2009 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Tahoma Cemetery. Valley Hills Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make donations to the American Heart Association.
