Evelyn Louise Lane
Evelyn Louise Lane, 90, of Yakima died Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Lane was born in Grandview. She worked for the King County Health Department. She moved to Yakima in 1996.
Survivors include two grandsons, Rich Lane of Selah and Bill Lane of Mount Vernon, Wash.; and a daughter-in-law, Janette Lane of Selah.
At her request, there will be no services. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory.
Zelda Marie Henry
YAKIMA - Zelda Marie Henry, 80, passed away Wed. Jan. 6, 2010 at her son's home.
She was born Sep. 1, 1929 in Letona, AR to Opie and Crilla Sohn. She married James Alfred Henry in 1948.
She was active in the First Baptist Church in Zillah until her health would not permit her to attend. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, having dinner parties and Bible studies at her home.
She is survived by one son, Troy R. Henry of Yakima; a daughter, Patricia Morrow of Yakima; sisters, Joyce Swinea of Conway AR, Anna Sue Evans of Alma, AR and Peggy Bowen of Conway, AR; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Sonny; sister, Marion; her husband, James A. and son James E. Henry.
Visitation will be held from 10 am - 5 pm on Friday at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Zillah First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Zillah Cemetery.
Ronald Wayne Seawright
Ronald Wayne Seawright, age 51 passed away January 3rd, 2010 at home in Toppenish.
He was born August 9th, 1958 in Mountain Home Arkansas to Effie and Russell Seawright. Ron was a simple man who enjoyed life to it's fullest. He loved Spending his time in the mountains cutting wood, hunting, fishing, and just breathing in the fresh air. He also enjoyed being around all of his grandchildren spoiling them with candy and Coca-Cola.
He is survived by his brother Gary Seawright of Yakima and his children Angela Gott, (Carlos Vasquez) of Toppenish, Ronald Seawright Jr., (Dusty Hayes) of Wapato and Aaron Seawright, (Erin Seawright) of Yakima, Jessica Gants and Kenneth Gott of Colorado and Amanda Gott of Montana. Grandchildren Carlos, Donnavan, and Dante Vasquez, Jace Seawright, Alexis Hayes, Nya and Alexander Seawright, Ebony and Tyler Staudenmaier, Isabella Gants, Micheal Gott, and Logan Steiner.
He is proceded in death by parents Effie and Russell Seawright, and brother Roger Seawright. He is missed and loved by all.
At the families request there will be no services. Arrangements are in the care of Valley Hills Funeral Home of Zillah.
Berta A. Shelton
August 23, 1921 - January 3, 2010
Berta Shelton Passed away on January 3, 2010 in Stockton, CA at the age of 88. Born in Cordel, OK, she has lived the past 10 years in Stockton, and lived previously in Yakima, WA for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress, and was a member of Yakima Bible Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son Ronald Richards (Barbara) of Stockton, grandchildren: Ryan Richards (Kristin), Jes Shelton (Pam), Jana Larson (Jeff), and 6 great-grandchildren. Her husband C.L. Shelton, and a daughter Robyn Shelton precede her in death.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Valley Hills Funeral Home Chapel, Yakima with interment to follow in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
Judith Ann Diaz
Judith Ann Diaz, "Judy", was born in Oakland, California on November 6, 1957 to Joel and Helen Arellano and passed away from cancer early in the morning on Sunday, January 3, 2010 in Seattle, Washington.
Judy lived in her beautiful home in Sunnyside, Washington, where she always had her doors open for family and friends. Judy loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was so good with kids. She was proud to be a Native American from the Muwekma/Ohlone tribe from the San Francisco area. She collected many American Indian artifacts.
Judy's profession was serving as a spiritual healer and she helped many people. She cooked delicious meals and made the best salsa. Judy also enjoyed making creative dream catchers and beautiful beaded jewelry.
Judy is survived by her five children Julie Ann Weber and her three children Leopoldo, Mercedes H. and Diego Mendoza of Grandview, WA, Ronald D. Rose Jr. and his wife and two sons, Roshawn Rose and his wife Veronica and their three children, Elijahwa, Janiya and Roshawn Rose Jr. of Sunnyside, WA, Ricardo C. Diaz and his fiance' Denise Flores of Seattle, WA and Florentino Diaz, his wife Rosie and their two children Amya and newborn son Crucio Diaz, born on January 3, 2010, from Sunnyside, WA.
She is also survived by her father Joel Cota Arellano Sr., sister Donna Irene Psarris (Arellano) and son Stephen Nicholas Psarris, sister Evelyn Lynn Drennan (Arellano) and her husband, Raymond and their two children Christopher and Nicole Coops, brother Joel Cota Arellano and son Joshua Joel Arellano, sister Monica Virginia Arellano, sister Gloria Eleanor Gomez (Arellano) and husband Jorge and daughter Isabella Amne Gomez and her loving caregiver, T. Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Elena Marie Veronica Arellano.
We will keep Judy in our hearts and always love her and the way she loved and cared for everyone who was involved in her life.
Viewing and visitation for Judy Diaz will be held on Sunday January 10, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside. She will then be transferred to The Apostolic Church, 1510 E. Lincoln, Sunnyside, WA for services at 4:00 p.m. Following her wishes, cremation will follow.

Mildred Liebert
GRANGER- Mildred Liebert, 98 of Granger, WA was called home by the Lord on January 2, 2010. She was born March 16, 1911 in Burlingame, KS to James and Emma (Kunkle) Mack.
Mildred moved from Kansas to Washington with her family in 1917. She spent her childhood in Selah. She married Oscar Liebert September 4, 1936 in Yakima, WA. Together they farmed a fruit orchard in Granger where they lived most of their lives. She missed Oscar terribly since he preceded her in death in 1992.
She is survived by her children; Ronald Liebert & wife Ann of Granger, WA and Barbara Myers & husband Lloyd also of Granger, WA. By her grand children: David Liebert and wife Laura, Crystal Liebert, Lisa Wick and husband Keith all of Yakima, WA. Connie Byers and husband Michael of Goldendale, WA, Lorrie Visser of Granger, WA. By great grandchildren: Alan Byers and wife Christina of Goldendale, WA, Richard Visser II of Seattle WA, Brandon Visser of Redmond, OR; Victoria Liebert, Allysen, Aiden, & Trevor Wick all of Yakima, WA. By great-great grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Hailey, & Sean Byers of Goldendale, WA.
Those gone before her: Her husband Oscar, her parents, 3 brothers: Harry, John & Hughie Kunkle, a sister Jenny, and a grandson Dale Wayne Myers.
Visitation will be held Tuesday Jan. 5, 2010 from 9:00am.- 7:00pm. At Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday Jan. 6, 2010 at 11 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church in Toppenish, burial will be in Terrace Heights Memorial Park in Yakima, WA.
