Margaret Jane Crowe Finney
Margaret Jane Crowe Finney, age 87, passed away February 12, 2010 at Landmark Care Center in Yakima, Washington.
Peggy was born December 22, 1922 in Yakima to Frederick Charles Crowe and Luella Pearl Greer Crowe. She graduated from Yakima Senior High School with the class of 1939. Peggy met her husband George B. Finney in High School and they were married in 1943. They had two children, Michael Frederick and Patricia Shawn.
Peggy began her working career at S. H. Kresse at the age of fifteen and worked for a time for J. J. Ector Furniture Co., Hal Bowen Dept. Store and then for the Yakima County Auditor’s office. She also worked at the Yakima Credit Bureau prior to her employment in the trucking industry where she was employed for many years until her retirement.
Peggy is survived by her son Michael Finney of Moxee and her daughter Patricia Richner of Union Gap. She is also survived by her cousin Kathleen Shepard, husband Mike, daughter Erin Piestrup and son Kell Giffin and their families, as well as cousin Scott Braymer, wife Susan, sons Corbin and Jeremy, daughter Megan and their families. Peggy is also survived by her very special extended family, Pete and Lonni Jahr, daughter Sunni Tapscott, daughter Summer Jahr and their families.
She was a member of Tri K Ladies Club, the Teamsters Union and the Red Hat Society.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Crissy Hynes, grandson Carmine Hynes and her longtime friend Peggy Lou Rote.
Margaret will be truly missed by her family and many many friends.
The family would like to thank Landmark Care Center and all of her caregivers for the wonderful; care she received.
Graveside services will be held at Terrace Heights Memorial Park on Saturday February 20, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. Her family would like you to join us for a celebration of her life at Rexford Manor, 1010 N. 34th Ave., Yakima from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. following the service.

Patricia A. Hecker
Patricia "Patty" Hecker She was born March 28, 1936 in Smith Center, Kansas. She went to be with her sweetheart on Sunday, February 14th, 2010. She moved to Grandview in 1937 with her family. She attended school in Grandview and graduated in 1954. She married George Hecker on September 25th, 1954. They had five children. She was a devoted farmer's wife and a loving mother. She worked at Haskin's Variety Store in Grandview part-time while raising her children and helping on the farm. She loved to sew, quilt and shop at the thrift stores for that special find. She said the best thing about her life was being a housewife and a mother.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; son, Randy Hecker and his wife Connie of Mabton, son, Rick Hecker and his wife Debi of Prosser, daughter, Holly Hecker-Pupo of Yuba City, California and daughter, Tricia Hecker of Grandview, grandson, Kyle Hecker and wife Jenny and great-granddaughter Riley of Zillah, grandson, Cole Hecker and wife Sarah and great-granddaughter Amelia of Grandview, granddaughter, Alex Steinbock and husband Joseph of Prosser, grandsons Tyler Hecker and Ben Hecker of Prosser, grandson, Sean Hilton and wife Rebecca of San Diego, California, grandson, Jacob Pupo and granddaughter, Stefanie Pupo of Yuba City, California.
She is preceded in death by her son, Michael in 1955, her parents, Charles and Fern Schwabauer in 1991 and 1992 and her husband of 50 years, George in 2005. Donations are requested to be made in her name to Lower Valley Hospice, 3920 Outlook Road, Sunnyside, WA 98944.
Anna Audreen Bunten
YAKIMA - Anna Bunten passed away February 13, 2010 at Regional Medical Center. She had spent most of her life in the Yakima Valley after moving there from Missouri in 1948.
She is survived by her husband Don Bunten, a daughter Betty Workman (Jack Morris) of Springfield, Missouri, two sons, Carrol Baxter of Yakima and Daimond Baxter (Marianne) of Wenatchee, 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Arthur Baxter, one son Marvin Baxter and two grandsons. There will be no service at Anna's request.
Laurretta F. Tuttle
YAKIMA - Laurretta "Babe" Florence Tuttle, 92, passed away Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Arbor House care facility in Yakima, Washington.
Laurretta was born January 12, 1918, the second oldest of seven children, on a working cattle ranch near Riverton, Wyoming to Ryonald "Roy" and Lena Powell.
She was a descendant of American pioneering families going back to veterans of the American Revolution and War of 1812.
A long-time resident of the lower Yakima Valley, she and her husband, Harold Tuttle, lived in Grandview where they raised a family, farmed and owned a successful general contracting business.
After retiring for the first time in 1979, they moved to Whidbey Island, Washington where they continued to grow things on "Tuttle's Rhododendron Farm". Laurretta and Harold moved to Newport, Washington where she lived until relocating to Yakima in 2008. Laurretta is survived by her sons Ron and wife Sarah of Winchester, Virginia and Jerry and wife Fran of Yakima, Washington; granddaughters Tammy Pangle of Winchester, Virginia and Gina Nahass of York, Maine; grandsons Randy Tuttle of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Danny Tuttle of Everett, Washington; great grand-daughters Ashley and Tara of Winchester, Virginia: Hannah and Gabby of York, Maine and Julia of Virginia Beach, Virginia; great grand-sons Connor of York, Maine and Jack of Virginia Beach, Virginia. At her request, there will be no services. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home.
Thelma Smith
Thelma Smith, 94, of Yakima died Tuesday, February 9, 2010. Mrs. Smith was born in Tillamook, Ore. She lived in Zillah for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Charles L. Smith of Yakima; two daughters, Jan Sweezea of Zillah and Tootie Allen of Bend, Ore.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, February 11 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, February 12 also at the funeral home.
James Leo Creamer
James Leo Creamer, age 57, passed away February 11, 2010 at his home.
He was born February 13, 1952 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Alvin and June (Roberson) Creamer.
He moved with his family to Washington State at 4 months old.
He grew up and attended schools in Tacoma and Fife and graduated in 1972.
He joined the U.S. Navy immediately after high school.
When his enlistment ended, he moved to the Yakima area where his parents were residing.
Jim lived all around the Yakima and Lower Valley areas and worked at numerous jobs.
Jim was a loving man who would do anything for the people that he loved.
He is survived by his wife Vera, mother June Creamer, daughters June (Ken) Lake and Shannon (David) Bates, stepsons Ted (Lita) Roberts, Fred (Maria) Haas and Albert (Tina) Haas, brothers John (Donna) Creamer and Don (Margie) Creamer, sister Sharon (Lonnie) Payne, nine grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Alvin Creamer and grandson Kyle Roberts. There will be no services per his request.
