She was working at the Branding Iron 16 years ago, when she met the love of her life, Joe. They shared some very precious moments at Ocean Shores with their grandchildren, Cole, Conrad and Alaina. Her brilliant smile and hilarious laugh with the ability to give back as good as she got, will be missed by all who knew her.

Stewart Charles Clark
YAKIMA - Stewart Charles Clark passed away on March 2, 2010, in Yakima, WA. He was born to Ivy and Emma (Turner) Clark on September 28, 1928, in Kimberly, Wisconsin. He enjoyed being raised on a farm and worked it with a team of horses. In 1945, he moved with his family to Yakima, WA, where he lived and worked on the Hull Ranch. He also raised cattle and horses of his own.
He married our mother, Marcella (Ekard) in 1954. They had four children and were married for 29 years.
Stewart served in the U.S. Army with Company G, 160th Infantry. He served overseas in the Korean War. For his actions, he was awarded the Army Occupation Medal for serving in Japan, the Korean Service Medal with a bronze star for combat duty, and the United Nations Service Medal. Along with these medals, he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal and was honorably discharged from the Army in 1952. Stewart was proud to have served his country.
Stewart was a cowboy, through and through, born a hundred years too late, as we used to say. He was happy to be on the ground in a sleeping bag, next to a campfire, under the stars with his horse grazing nearby and three dogs at his side. Back in the day, he could roll a cigarette with one hand while riding on his horse. On horseback, he could control two hundred head of cattle running across the range with no more help than two or three dogs who understood his every command by his whistle or hand movements. It was truly an amazing feat to see. He rode in rodeos, broke horses, and worked on ranches from Washington to Arizona.
Stewart is survived by his four children; Pat Clark (Marilee), Gail Thomas (John), Susan Perry (Mike), and Jim Clark (Lisa), seven grandchildren, Justin, Carlie, Hannah, Bo, Josh, Travis and Tamara and four great-grandsons, Logan, Ransom, Benjamin and Jacob. He is also survived by his sister Betty Montgomery, his brother John Clark (Irma), his former wife, Marcella, and his special friend of many years, Caryn Marek.
We will miss his smile, his laugh, his stories, and his ever-present cowboy hat.
At his request, there will be no services. His family will gather and ascend the ridge where he used to ride his horse and, along with his spirit which refused to conform or be fenced in, will release his ashes to the wind. We love and will miss you, Stewy.
Dean Holmes
YAKIMA - Dean Holmes, 72, of Yakima passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Chandler House in Yakima.
Dean was born June 10, 1937 in Salmon, Idaho to Fred and Anna Holmes. He attended Yakima schools, graduating from Yakima High School in 1955 followed by a year at YVCC. He served in the Army National Guard. Dean married Linda Hunsberger on December 31, 1960.
Dean always worked hard, starting with the Yakima Daily Newspaper, where he would buy papers for 3 cents each and sell them for a nickel. He worked for Mitchells Market, The American Construction Co., in Cabimas, Venezuela, then 45 1/2 years at Decoto Aircraft/Smith Aerospace. Dean loved the aircraft industry and could always tell you what kind of plane was flying over. His favorite being the famous T.F.A.T.I. Attending the Paris air show was the cherry on top.
He had many talents and knowledge. Dean was always willing to help any and all. He passed on his work ethic and perfectionist ways to all three kids. Dean was at all of the kids' games; he did some coaching, some umpiring and a lot of sitting in the stands. We followed Rob all over the state for a glimpse of him flying by on his mountain bike. Dean loved the bike races. He enjoyed a cold beer and Mark's smoked salmon, bowling, golfing, and woodworking in the shop he had built with a little help fro his son and son-in-law. Measure twice, then measure again.
Marshal and Gramps first trip to Polo's and a buzz cut always brought a smile. The chocolate ice cream cone at the museum ice cream parlor with Madison and Marshal was something we all looked forward to. Dean looked forward to the days spent with his special nephew, Jim Decoto. Walks with Ruben enjoying the flowers and renewing his Spanish were a big favorite. The long phone visits with Holly every Wednesday night, an Alaskan Cruise with Tami and Mark, helping Rob get his new shop ready to open, and visiting were all good times.
The people we met on this journey are amazing: Christine Talbot and Cahnen Carnagey. The last few months we found a whole new family and Dean was lucky to have Sonia, Liz and Nichole to flirt with. He was mothered by Eva and Jasmine and enjoyed "guy time" with Tom, Chris, Raul and Wally. We all felt the love, thanks to "D" at Chandler House.
Dean is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda; a son, Robert Holmes; two daughters, Holly Holmes and Tami and Mark Linger; and four grandchildren, Madison and Marshal Holmes and Kristen (Jessie) and Ryan Linger.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, March 5 at 1:30 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Kate and Tracy at Memorial Hospice, Keith Jones and Fr. Francisco Gutierrez.
