Arnoldo Ramirez
GRANGER - Arnoldo Ramirez, age 46, beloved husband, father, uncle, brother, and friend joined his parents on May 23, 2010. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Arnoldo was born September 26, 1963 in Sunnyside, Washington to Seferino Ramirez and Cipriana Garza.
Arnoldo married Linda Rodriquez on March 16, 2001 but they fully shared their lives since June 1981 in Granger, WA.
Arnoldo enjoyed barbecuing, playing card games, sharing stories, and listening to music. Arnoldo lived life to the fullest by always doing the things he enjoyed such as family gatherings, traveling, fishing, shooting pool, shooting hoops, and working on muscle cars.
Arnoldo is survived by his wife Linda Ramirez, and children Dominic Ramirez, Cassandra Ramirez-Rodriquez, Savahnna Ramirez, Leeza Ramirez, Evander Ramirez and Coby Ramirez. Four brothers, Estevan Garza, Jose Oscar Ramirez, Ruben Ramirez, Jose Angel Ramirez, and two sisters, Leonor Ramirez and Raquel Garza, plus many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held Thursday May 27, 2010 from 10 am - 7 pm with Recitation of the Rosary at 7 pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held on Friday May 28, 2010 at 10 am at our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Granger, Washington. Burial will follow in the Zillah Cemetery.
Linda Gail Cline
Linda Gail Cline, 54 of Yakima, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010 at home. Linda was born June 21, 2955 in Jacksonville, FL. She moved to Yakima at the age of 14 and spent most of her life between Jacksonville and Yakima.
Linda worked as a bookkeeper and self –employed silk screener before becoming disabled in 1989.
Linda enjoyed working with the youth group of her church in Tallahassee. She enjoyed crafts and cooking. Her children and grandchildren were the lights of her life.
She is survived by a son, Jeremiah Cline of Helena, MT; a daughter, Angela Campos of Portland, OR; two brothers, Donald Graves II of Tallahassee, FL and Brian Graves of Jacksonville, LF; three sisters, Sherry Townsend of Naches, Karen Greco of Jacksonville and Lisa Graves of Jacksonville; and two grandchildren, Anthony Campos and Gregory Alvarez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Margaret Graves.
A Celebration of her Life will be held Saturday, May 29 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Walk About Creek in Naches.
Jorge Cuevas
Jorge was born April 23, 1981 and passed away in May of 2010, a loving father, brother, son and friend to many, called back home by God to take his place in heaven. Survivors include his loving girlfriend, Guadalupe Moreno; two children, Jorge Omar Cuevas Jr. and Erikah Florencia Cuevas: parents Maria Cuevas and Efren Cuevas; two sisters Esmeralda Cuevas and Veronica Cuevas: grandparent Angela and Luis Cuevas and Guadalupe Martinez; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles as well as numerous friends.
Jorge was born in Santa Maria, CA and raised in Toppenish, WA. Jorge enjoyed spending his time with his children and hanging out with his family and friends. Anyone who knew Jorge knew he had a big heart. He was always the center of attention, life of every party. His laughter, his love for his children and family will be forever in our hearts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday May 27, 2010 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Toppenish at 1 pm with burial to follow at the Toppenish Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Valley Hills Funeral Home.
Rande VanLuven
Rande VanLuven, 50, of Union Gap died Thursday, May 20, 2010. Mr. VanLuven was born in Australia and lived in the Lower Yakima Valley for eight years before moving to Union Gap, where he lived for 36 years. He worked for Gama Foods in Harrah and Johnstone Supply in Yakima as an HVAC technician.
Survivors include his wife, Annette VanLuven of Union Gap; his mother, Patricia Sisson of Yakima; a son, Ryan Whorly of Texas; and a stepson, Cory Michael of Naches.
At his request, there will be no services. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
Carroll Lee Baxter Sr.
YAKIMA - Carrol Lee Baxter Sr., 71, of Yakima, died Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center. Carrol was born on April 30, 1939 in Douglas County, MO. Carrol's work career included service in the Navy, Clarkston, WA Policeman and Fireman, ending his work career in Phoenix, AZ as a line-locator for Southwest Gas. Carrol enjoyed camping, fishing and watching western movies and TV series.
Carrol was preceded in death by his son William (Bill) Keith Baxter on December 28, 1995, his father Arthur Baxter February 1994, his mother Ann Bunten February 2010, and his brother Marvin Baxter 1961.
Carrol is survived by a large family which includes three sons, Carrol Lee Baxter Jr., Clifford Baxter, Douglas and wife Lisa Baxter, all of Yakima, WA. Two daughters who live out of state. A brother Daimond and wife Mary Ann Baxter of Wenatchee, WA. A sister Betty Workman and her husband of Missouri. His stepfather Donald Bunten of Yakima, WA. Jolene Sanchez the youngest sibling of the Baxter boys and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Terrace Heights Memorial Park on Thursday the 27th of May 2010 at 1 pm. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
Esther M. Angela
Esther M. Angela, 98, of Yakima died Friday, May 21, 2010 at Landmark Care Center. Ms. Angela was born in Billings, Mont., and grew up in Sunnyside. She farmed in the apple industry.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 27 in Tahoma Cemetery. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
Julian Zuniga
Julian Zuniga, 94, of Sunnyside died Tuesday, May 18, 2010. Mr. Zuniga was born in Carson City, Texas, and lived in Sunnyside for 40 years. He worked as a farm laborer.
Survivors include a son, Julian Zuniga; seven daughters, Elida Zuniga, Oralia Zuniga, Juanita Zuniga, Amelia Fernandez, Rosalinda Torres, and Virginia Zuniga, all of Sunnyside, and Olivia Mungia of Spokane; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22 at Valley Hills Funeral Home of Sunnyside. Burial will follow in Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.
Richard Lee Mobley Sr.
Richard Lee Mobley Sr., 73, of Yakima died Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Mobley was born in Salida, Colo., moved to California and then to Washington state when he was in the third grade. He worked at Del Monte until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Mobley; a son, Richard J. Mobley of Yakima; a daughter, Sharon Karagozlu of Dublin, Calif.; a sister, Lauretta Leake of Great Falls, Mont.; and two grandchildren.
No formal services will be held. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
