Mary Ramirez
Mary Louvisa Ramirez was taken from us suddenly on Friday February 20, 2009, at the age of 29. Mary was born on January 22nd 1980. Mary was called daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend by many. After Mary received her GED, she went on to attend Perry Technical Institute and in 2002 received her professional
telecommunications degree. She then attended YVCC and graduated in 2004 with an Associates of Applied Science-Telecommunications degree. She worked for 3 years at the Grandview campus of YVCC, and touched many lives while there. Mary had an infectious laugh, and you couldn’t help but smile when she did. She liked all realms of music (except polka she would tell you) and movies from all walks of life. Mary loved to write poetry, (some of which was published) song
lyrics, and loved to draw. She had hand drawn her own tattoo of angel wings, and had just gotten the outlines inked on her last October. She loved working with all aspects of computers, from programming, to repair. She loved all of her nieces and nephews, and they all loved receiving gifts from her at various times during the year. She would randomly buy a gift for one of them, and when asked what the occasion was she would say “it’s for your un-Birthday party!” Mary always had a sharp wit and no matter what happened, always found a way to laugh. She always had big dreams and never once let anyone deter her from trying to achieve them; she will be missed dearly, and be remembered for how she touched all of us.
Mary is preceded in death by her grandmother Maria Ochoa, grandfather Ignacio Ramirez, grandmother Berdina Kelley Brown, Grandfather Lyle Kelley, Aunt Laverne Hughes, Uncles Wayne Kelley, and Glenn Kelley, and infant siblings Jose Luis Ramirez, and Melinda Kelley. Mary is survived by her mother Verla “Kelley” Ramirez, and her father and step-mother, Onesimo and Celia Ramirez. Two brothers, Ignacio Ramirez (Dawn), and Melquin “Butch” Mercado (Stacey). Five sisters, Carmen Ramirez (Vencente), Leticia Ramirez (Angel), Maria Ramirez, Guadalupe Ramirez (Jesus), and Blanca Ramirez. Aunt Velma Barr, and Uncle Clyde Kelley. Mary is also survived by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by her closest and dearest friend Erek Saunders, who would have given Mary the world if he could. The family also wishes to give special thanks to Tammy Perez for all her help in this trying time.
