Elnora Lillian Moe
Elnora Lillian Peterson Moe was born July 21, 1921 in Reparia, Washington -- the middle child of Delbert and Mary Floyd, and on September 28, 2010 she graduated to a better life.
She attended Washington Jr. High and Yakima High School, and attended nursing school at St. Elizabeth Hospital, but being a deeply devoted Christian, she always referred to today's ceremony as her graduation.
Her first marriage to Russell Cummings brought two daughters, Verlyn and Kathy. Russell's work as a crane operator moved them from Portland to Seaside to Selah, Granger, Prosser and finally Yakima.
The war ended, her father died and she divorced in 1951 and started working at Prosser Frozen Foods, where she met and married the love of her life (and her boss), Glenn Moe, a WWII Veteran from the 101st Airborne. They lived for ten years on a 20-acre cattle farm in Toppenish and then on a one-acre cherry farm for the next 30. They were happily married for 50 years, and although Glenn passed nine years ago, their romance is eternal. She joins him today.
Primarily a homemaker, Lillian had many jobs in her life. She delivered babies with Dr. Angland as a midwife-nurse, waited tables, supervised the women at Yakima Frozen Foods, she did taxes & bookkeeping for herself and was a manager at H&R; Block. Perhaps more importantly, she taught Sunday School and cared for her grandchildren -- teaching every one of them how to swim. She and Glenn traveled to Texas and Montana building churches for Laborers for Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister Ruth Smith; her brother Del and her daughter Verlyn Hoff in 2006.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Moe Hagen; her nephew Jim & Dar Martin; and her niece Nancy & Don Chamberlin. Her grandchildren are Amber Roberts; Brent Hoff; Carrie Leeper; Matt Hagen and Chris Hagen. Her great-grandchildren are Chris & Kalie Roberts; Brentton, Jackson and Zebulon Leeper; and Expecting Hagen.
Services will be Friday October 1 at 10 a.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home, 607 2nd Ave., Zillah, WA 98953.

Irma Womach
Irma D. (Meyers) Womach passed away on Sept. 24, 2010. Irma was born Aug. 15, 1919 in Denver, Colorado to Anton & Anna (Moser) Meyers. When she was about two years old, her family moved to Spokane, Wash. where she was educated at Sacred Heart School and Holy Names Academy. When she was in the 3rd grade, she started playing the piano and organ. Later she played for the children's choir. She attended Eastern Washington University where she earned her teaching degree. While at Eastern, she played the organ for the adult choir and also became an accomplished violinist.
After graduation, she secured a teaching job in the Grandview School District where she taught the 3rd grade and music. While teaching, she met Royal Womach, who was also a teacher and coach in Grandview. In 1942, she traveled with her mother to Norfolk, Va. to marry Royal, the love of her life, who had enlisted in the Navy during World War II.
They moved back to Grandview after the war where Royal started selling Real Estate for The Grandview Investment Co.. He eventually purchased the business.
Mother took her vocation as a wife and mother seriously. She was a devoted mother of four and a meticulous home maker. Her yard was always beautiful with flowers and shrubs. She was active in the community and many organizations. She was a Den mother, and supported her children and other children in local sport and dance programs. She was an active member of the Blessed Sacrament Church Altar Society and worked many years on the Grandview float committee. She and Royal supported the Chamber of Commerce for over fifty years.
Irma played the organ for almost 60 years at Blessed Sacrament Church in Grandview, as well as the Rotary Club. She played for the children's religious programs as well as countless weddings and funerals -- always giving any money that she was paid to the Holy Names Nuns in Spokane.
Irma became an avid golfer after her children where raised. She was a member of the 18 holers, a local women's golfing group. She and Royal played golf around the world along with many friends. After Royal passed, she remained an avid golfer, playing whenever she could. She loved sports, and we would always find her watching baseball, football and golf on TV after a fall weakened her back and forced her to spend so much time sitting.
She was preceded in death by her father, Anthony Meyers, her mother Anna Meyers, her husband, Royal Womach, and her sister, Elizabeth Allen. She is survived by her children, Bill Womach (Judy), Carole Schlotfeldt (Peter), Bob Womach (Shannon), and Jim Womach (Connie). Irma will truly be missed by her family and friends. Her family was her pride and joy, and we couldn't have had a more attentive and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. May she rest in the arms of Jesus.
Her family wants to thank Joan, Rosalinda, Michelle, Jackie, Chanda, and all the personnel at Sheffield Manor for taking such good care of mom these past two years. The Hospice nurses, especially Heidi, social workers, and religious representatives couldn't have been more attentive.
The family would also like to thank all the friends that came to visit Irma during the last few years of her life. She so appreciated these visits. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Lower Valley Hospice "In Memoriam," 3920 Outlook Rd., Sunnyside, WA 98944.
