Christina Mandrigues
SChristina Mandrigues of Post Falls ID, went to be with God on October 28, 2010. She was born in Santa Clara, CA on March 30, 1972 and moved to Washington at 18 years old. Christina was very passionate in all that she loved. She loved the ocean and decorated her house in seashells that she found, she also enjoyed the Redwoods of California. Christina worked with the elderly and the handicapped. She always thought of others and would bring gifts to those she cared for.
Christina is survived by her mother Bonnie Aalgaard, of Vancouver, WA. Sister, Marcia (Robert) Emery of Zillah. Brother, Max (Janis) Wilson of San Jose, CA. Nephews Brycen, Trevor, and Gavin Emery of Zillah.
Christina is preceded in death by her father, Mark Wilson and Grandparents Bernie and Wanda Clouse. She was loved by all will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday November 5 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah., WA Burial will follow at Outlook Cemetery in Outlook WA. There will be a reception at 4:00 p.m. at the Squeeze Inn, 611 First Avenue in Zillah. Arrangements are in the care of Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah.
Milbina Ashcraft
Milbina Ashcraft, 95, of Renton, Wash., died Friday. Mrs. Ashcraft was born in Ventura, N.D. She was a longtime resident of Grandview and worked at the Senior Center.
Survivors include her children, Lee Ashcraft, Robert Ashcraft, Anna Delany and Pat Ashcraft; nine grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. in Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside.
Zelda Delp
Zelda “Zee” Donaldson Delp passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010, in Toppenish, Washington, at the age of 92. She was born August 8, 1918, in Toppenish, Washington, to Susie Donaldson Robson and Robert Donaldson. Zelda was a life-long Valley resident
Zee graduated with the Top-Hi Class of 1936. She played high school basketball and was always an avid sports fan with baseball being her favorite. Zelda was a strong-willed, self-supporting and very independent woman long before it was common.
In March of 1948, Zee married Delmas “Mark” Delp and from that union came four rambunctious little boys, Michael, Steven, Gene and David, whom she dearly loved. Zee and Mark spent their entire married life and raised their family in Zillah. She spent many hours in gyms, ball fields and corrals watching her boys play sports and raising animals for FFA. Zee felt she was the official scorekeeper during her boys’ sporting events and had many “discussions” with umps and refs when calls didn’t go the way she thought they should have.
She enjoyed many years sitting in the first chair on the west side of the sorting line at Stadelman Fruit in Zillah. Retirement gave her ample time for her favorite pastimes of watching sports, reading, knitting, needlework and playing Bingo. Zee and Millie had many good times playing Bingo. Zelda was enjoying the playoffs and was rooting for the Texas Rangers to take the World Series.
Zelda is survived by her sons Mike Delp, Gene (Penny) Delp, Dave (Debra) Delp and daughter in law, Melia Delp, l0 grandchildren, Derek, Kenneth, Jeff, Jennifer, Alicia, Stephanie, Mark, Nicole, Erick and Amanda and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark, on April 10, 1988, and her son, Steve, on February 15, 1995.
Viewing will be from noon to 5:00, Tuesday, November 2, at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. Graveside services for Zelda will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, at Zillah Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at Zillah Civic Center immediately following.
The family would like to thank Toppenish Nursing and Rehab Center and especially Carol and Sharon for taking care of Zee. Also a special thank you to Aunt Barb. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Zillah Athletic Booster Club or a charity of your choice.
Harold Ratliff
Harold “Skeeter” Ellsworth Ratliff, 86, of Yakima passed away at his home on October 28, 2010. He was born on February 24, 1924 in Paso Robles, California to Paul and Agnes Ratliff.
Skeeter attended Cal Poly for two years and later worked for the Hearst Castle Ranch in California. He continued working as a cowboy and moving cattle. At one point he appeared as an extra in an episode of Gunsmoke. Later, Skeeter worked as a heavy equipment operator and could operate just about any piece of equipment.
On March 3, 1973 Skeeter married Mary Shockley in Las Vegas, Nevada and in 1977 they moved to Yakima. Skeeter enjoyed staying busy and was always on the go. He liked the outdoors, fishing, hunting and the mountains. He enjoyed the Milk Lake and Milk Pond areas. He also enjoyed horseback riding when he was younger and later working in the yard. After retiring, he went to work for Carlson Orchards and worked until the age of 79.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ruby.
Skeeter is survived by his wife, Mary Ratliff of Yakima; stepdaughters, Phyllis Reischl and Karen Welshimer both of Yakima; son-in-laws, Don Welshimer and Allen Reischl of Yakima as well; two siblings, Fred Ratliff and Mabel Wing of California; grandchildren, James Welshimer of Yakima, Angela (Walt) Pauling of Yakima and Brandon (Crystal) Malby of Utah.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Howard and Gwen Burke for all their loving care and to Karen Gamche and all the staff with Yakima Regional Hospice.
A celebration of Skeeter’s life will be held at a later date.
Morris Carol Walton Jr.
Morris Carol Walton Jr., 66, of Yakima died Wednesday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Walton was born in Oklahoma and served in the Navy. He also worked for Boeing.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Walton of Yakima and Steven Walton of Bremerton; two daughters, Dee Jenkins of Yakima and Shelly Walton of Burien, Wash.; a brother, Rickey Lee Walton of St. Louis; a sister, Sandy Duvall of Yakima; and eight grandchildren.
Celebration of life will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the family home, 1305 S. 15th Ave., Yakima. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory, Yakima.
Sabrina Lemus
Sabrina Victoria Lemus, 28, of Tieton passed away at her home on October 23, 2010. She was born in Exeter, California on June 22, 1982 to Santiago Sr. and Catarina Lemus. She attended Eisenhower High School and later worked for Total Care of Yakima for many years. She enjoyed spending quality time with her kids and family.
She is survived by her father, Santiago “Jimmy” Sr. of Yakima and Catarina Lemus of Florida; son, Christian Flores of Yakima; daughter, Clarissa Flores of Yakima; brother, Santiago Lemus Jr. of Florida; and two sisters, Francis Concepcion of Florida and Christine Lemus of California; nieces, Maria Concepcion, Saffire Hawkins, Ashley Romero, and Abigail Ramos; and a nephew, Joseph Anthony Concepcion.
Her nephew, Joseph Angel Concepcion preceded her in death.
Viewing will be held on 3PM-7PM on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima with Rosary at 5PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10AM on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Holy Redeemer Church in Yakima with burial at Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima. A reception will follow at Holy Redeemer Church and food donations as well as all donations will be accepted.
Michael Lynn Keeter
Michael Lynn Keeter, 58 of Selah passed away Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 in Soap Lake, WA.
Mike was born June 20, 1952 in Yakima to Laymen S. and Bernice W. Keeter. He attended Cowiche Schools and married Donna (Baughman) Keeter. Mike worked for Laymen Lumber until 1996. He then owned and operated Wyncrest Products until his passing.
Mike loved raising and showing dogs as well as hunting, golfing and camping. He enjoyed boating, driving jeeps, and coaching football and T-Ball. He was a member of the Yakima Valley Kennel Club, the Northwest Flat-Coated Retriever Club and the Flat-Coated Retriever Club of America.
He is survived by: his loving wife, Donna R. Keeter of Selah; his mother, Bernice Keeter of Yakima; two daughters and their husbands, Jennifer and David Schlenker of Naches and Stacy and Russell Ronan of Selah; a cousin, Martha Widner of California; four grandchildren, Alexandria Schlenker, Caitlyn Sue Ronan, Ezra Ronan and Iris Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Layman “Red” Keeter, his sister, Nancy C. Schmahl and two aunts, Charleen Widner and Keydron Dawson.
Viewing will be Monday, Nov. 1 from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima. Graveside Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. at West Hills Memorial Park. A reception will follow at the Harmon Center.
