Pedro Bravo Hernandez
Pedro Bravo Hernandez, 22, of Sunnyside died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008.
Mr. Hernandez was born in Mexico and came to this country about 14 years ago. He was a laborer and worked in the dairy industry.
Survivors include his father, Pedro Bravo; his mother, Rafalea Hernandez; two brothers, Luis Bravo and David Bravo; and two sisters, Maria Bravo and Francisca Ramirez, all of Sunnyside.
Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, with a rosary to follow, at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside. Burial will follow in Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.
James Patrick Dougan
James Patrick Dougan, 74, of Yakima died Saturday. Dec. 6, 2008 at Mabel Swan Manor.
Mr. Dougan was born in Waltham, Mass. He worked at different sales positions before moving to Yakima in 2000.
Survivors include a son, James M. Dougan of Yakima; a daughter, Debbie Trocci of Elmira, N.Y.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
At his request, there will be no services.
Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory, Yakima, is in charge of arrangements.
Nancy Linda Balli
Nancy Linda Balli, 28, of Mabton died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 in Sunnyside.
She was born in Laredo, Texas. She was a childcare provider.
Survivors include her mother, Anelina Balli; three brothers, Michael Balli, Ruben Balli and Alexander Balli; and two sisters, Maria Balli and Yadira Balli, all of Mabton.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mabton City Cemetery.
Laura Lee Estabrook
Laura Lee Estabrook, 59, of Selah passed away in her home on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008. She was born in Richland and spent her life in the Yakima Valley. In life, she took great joy in time spent with family. In earlier years, she and her husband spent a lot of time at the Sunny-Grand Speedway where both were drivers with a passion for racing. Laura's hobbies included Saturday morning auctions followed by yard sales in the afternoons. She spent 18 years at Bob's Drive-In which was more than just a job to her - it was days spent with friends. She was always proud of the fact that she and a friend owned and operated their own business for a short time. She loved her role as a grandmother even with her nieces and nephews. She loved family camp-outs, riding her quad, girls-only weekends, her nightly bowl of ice cream and a good book.
She is proceeded in death by Randy, her husband of 22 years; her parents, Wayne and Mary (Doramus) Heckathorn and two sisters-in-laws, Dee Dee and Candy.
Survivors include her two brothers, Rollie Heckathorn of Jamul, CA and William Heckathorn and wife, Mary of Ocean Shores WA; her daughter, Mary White of Yakima; daughter Tammy White of Selah; her son, Rollie Estabrook of Prosser; her daughter, Renee Estabrook of Sunnyside and her son Doug Estabrook of Yakima; and nine grandchildren, Nickolas, Cassandra, Chantel, Jacob, Shanna, Michael Paul, Trevor, Cody & Connor. She is also survived by numerous extended family by blood and by heart.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 pm Wednesday with the service beginning at 2 p.m. at The Cross Church at their new location at 8700 Summitview Ave, Yakima WA. Following the service will be a fellowship/reception.
Milton "Mike" Laurent Jr.
Milton "Mike" Laurent Jr., 63, of Yakima died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008 in Yakima.
Mr. Laurent was born in Mount Vernon, Wash. He served in the Navy from 1965 to 1969 and he worked as an independent truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Laurent of Yakima; a daughter, Angie Thoms of Yakima; a stepson, Brian Hill of Yakima; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 4105 Richey Road in Yakima. A reception will follow the service.
Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory is handling arrangements.
Opal Elaine Square-Briggs
Opal Elaine Square-Briggs, 87, of Yakima died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Square-Briggs was born in Ontario, Canada, and moved to Yakima in 1957. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Square-Briggs and Randy Square-Briggs, both of Yakima; a daughter, Karlene Gill of Kentucky; a sister, Marjorie Wilson of Vancouver, British Columbia, a brother, Godfrey Giroux of Penticton, British Columbia; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
At her request, there will be no services.

Cheryl Ann Day-McPherson
Cheryl Ann Day-McPherson, 60, of Yakima, passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at Garden Village Care Center.
Cheryl was born June 6, 1948 in Yakima to Robert and Margaret (Rinehold) Day. She worked building aircraft for Boeing in Kent and returned to Yakima in 2003.
Cheryl had her own unique style of dress and enjoyed brightening the day for others with her colorful cheery outfits, hats and pins. She enjoyed traveling and fishing and loved animals, especially cats. She had a very likeable personality and was always willing to do anything for anyone who asked. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Survivors include her mother, Margaret Day of Selah; a son, Brian Rice of Everett; two daughters, Tally Glines and Sherra Dawn McPherson, both of Selah; a brother, Nick Day (Carol Wilson) of Yakima; a sister, Carla (Denis) Waterbury of Yakima; and four grandchildren.
At her request there will be no formal services.
