Edward Lee Peugh
YAKIMA – Edward Lee Peugh, 83, of Zillah passed away Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center.
Ed was born Feb. 6, 1923 in Aberdeen, WA to William and Edna (Smith) Peugh. He grew up in Granger, graduating from Granger High School. He married Lecleta Corrine Paterson (Connie) in June 1946.
A veteran, Ed served in the U.S. Navy from 1941 until 1945. He was a 2nd Class Petty Officer serving in the Submarine (Silent) Service during WWII. He conducted six combat tours aboard the U.S.S. Trigger.
Ed worked as a truck driver, then as a chef in Toppenish. He worked for over 30 years at Del Monte in Toppenish as a machine operator.
He enjoyed horseback riding in the Cascades with his wife Connie and his grandchildren. Ed was an avid hunter of pheasant, deer and elk. He was a member of the Toppenish Fraternal Order of the Eagles and of the Veterans of Foreign Warns.
Survivors include his son, Randy Peugh of Zillah; a brother, Spencer Peugh of Yakima; grandchildren, Garrett & Hudson Peugh of Marysville, WA and Morgan who lives on the family farm and attends Zillah High School; and two great-grandchildren, Talara and Jubilee. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Connie.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. at the Zillah First Baptist Church, 1504 Second Ave. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer Disease Research Center, POB 358220, Seattle, WA 98195. Condolences may be sent at valleyhillsfh.com.
Hill Miller
Hill Miller, 77, longtime Yakima Valley resident, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006.
Mr. Miller was born on Feb. 21, 1929 in Pomeroy, Wash. He lived in the Yakima Valley for 52 years. He worked for Gray and Osborne Engineers as a civil engineer. He served in the Navy.
Survivors include his son, William Miller of Yakima; and one grandchild.
At Mr. Miller's request, there will be no services.

Kenneth Wayne Winters
YAKIMA - Kenneth Wayne Winters died in his home on Friday, September 29, 2006 due to complications with cancer.
Kenneth was born in Centertown, Missouri on July 14, 1941. He moved to Washington with his mother and siblings as a young boy, where he then met and married Barbara Jean Brandner.
He is survived by his children, Terri Winters, Deborah Briggs, Jerry and Kathy Winters, Christina and Charles Wood, and Kenneth Scott Winters, Jr., all of Yakima, Washington. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Kenneth joined the Navy as a young man where he served his country with pride. He left the Navy with an honorable discharge.
Kenneth worked many different jobs including logging, carpentry and construction. He was a man of many skills.
He enjoyed camping, fishing and just spending time in the great outdoors. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.
Viewing will be Friday, October 6, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Terrace Heights, and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Valley Hills Funeral Home. David W. Allison
UMATILLA, OR - David W. Allison of Prosser died October 2, 2006 in a sailboat accident near Umatilla, Oregon. He was born March 22, 1954 at Pensacola Florida. His high school education was at Monterey, California and Prince George, Maryland. He attended the University of Washington and graduated from Washington State University in Agronomy. He worked as a researcher at the Agricultural Experiment Station in Prosser for the Entomology department for over 20 years.
Survivors include: son Aaron Allison of Prosser and Green River College, Auburn; parents Paul and Janet Allison of Zillah; brothers Paul S. Allison of Seattle, Russell and wife Cindy of Zillah; sister, Diane Dickinson and husband Tom at Washington State University; uncle Walter Banks and wife Yvonne of Seattle; aunt Garry Allison of Des Moines, Washington and many cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death were grandparents Walter and Marie Allison of Bonney Lake, Washington; Walter and Constance Banks of Chattanooga, Tennessee; uncles Pendleton Banks and James Allison and aunt Anne Redwine.
David was a kind, intelligent person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His untimely accidental death has deprived us all of his gentle wisdom.

Jeffre Sechier
SUNNYSIDE - Joffre Sechier, 89, of Sunnyside, passed away October 2, 2006 at Sunnyside Community Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Sunnyside on July 18, 1917 to Ferdinand and Rachael (Allemonde) Sechier. His family was in the sheep herding business.
Joffre served in WWII in The Battle of Britain and was stationed in Germany in 1946. He came back after the war and married Helen DeWeese of Seattle, in December 1960, whom he met through his sister, Lorraine. The couple made their home in Sunnyside.
He is survived by one sister, Lorraine Sechier of Sunnyside, (Babe), two daughters, Michelle and Bob Hall of Sunnyside, Suzanne and Nick DeRuyter of Caldwell, Idaho, and one son, Joffre Sechier of Des Moines, Washington. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren, which were his pride and joy, Matthew Grubenhoff (22), Kristen Grubenhoff (21), Meghan Grubenhoff (18), Nicolaas DeRuyter (19), Annelise DeRuyter (18), Corrie DeRuyter (17), Jacob DeRuyter (16), Alex DeRuyter (6), and Olivia DeRuyter (2), of Caldwell, Idaho, Carrissa Haber (18), and Joffre Sechier (9) of Des Moines.
Joffre was preceded in death by his wife Helen in 2001, 2 brothers, Mike Sechier in 1980, and Fred Sechier in 2003, and one sister Blanche Thomas in 1995.
At Toad's request, there will be no funeral services.
Nancy Sarrels
Nancy Sarrels, 59, of Yakima died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at Heritage Grove Care Center.
Mrs. Sarrels was born in Clarkston, Wash. She was an artist.
Survivors include a daughter, Celeste Traub of Wapato; four siblings, Robert Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, Richard of Clarkston, Wash., Caryl Barnea, of Clarkston, Wash., and Pamela Barnea of Modesto, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
A family memorial will be held at a later date.
