Chelsea Mae Garner
Chelsea Mae Garner, 21, of Yakima completed her earthly journey on Sunday morning, October 12, 2008. She brought such laughter and joy for twenty-one years; and now the greater the love, the deeper the heartache.
Chelsea was born in Sunnyside, WA on September 7, 1987 and grew up in Zillah. Her exuberance overflowed from earliest childhood and continued to blossom throughout the years. Her flair for the dramatic led to involvement in several theater productions at Zillah High School. Chelsea was blessed with a beautiful voice and was selected for the all-state choir. Running was another great joy. She was chosen as co-captain of her ZHS cross-country team, which won the state title. Her zeal for running continued at Spokane Falls Community College.
In recent years all of Chelsea's talents and energy converged in a great passion for swing dancing. She was a phenomenal dancer and was actively pursuing a career as an instructor. The Zillah Swing Kids will never forget her. She was also a ray of sunshine to customers and coworkers at Yesterday's Village and the Buhrmaster Baking Co.
Chelsea was a legendary bargain hunter, always blessing her housemates with "amazing" treasures for their common household and wardrobe. But people were the true treasures in her life. She touched us in extraordinary, unforgettable ways. And now we have treasure in heaven.
Chelsea is survived by her father; Joe Garner, of Zillah (and Kelly Mattingley), her mother; Teri Garner, of Yakima (and Ed Hixson), and brother; Jeremy Garner, of Zillah. Her grandparents are William and Rollie Mae Garner, Margie and Ivan Hogg, and Norman Weathers. She is also survived by great grandmother; Faye Weathers, three uncles, four aunts, many cousins... and Biscuit (the Jack Russell Terrier).

Von was born on November 9, 1921 in Pyatt, Arkansas to Franklin and Carrie (Waters) Stonecipher. His early years were spent on the family farm in Arkansas with his brothers and sisters. Those wonderful memories and great stories lasted for 86 years.
Like many depression-era children, he was forced to quit school early and work to support the family. He was awarded the Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Von left the Service on January 6, 1946 at Ford Bliss, Texas. He returned to Arkansas and married Vernie Markle on November 26, 1946. Together they followed other relatives to Washington State, where they worked long hours in the fruit business and were able to start their own farm which today is proudly owned and operated by his son Don and grandson Brent Stonecipher.
Von and Vernie’s family was started by the birth of a son, Don, on May 13, 1954, followed by a daughter, Sharon, on June 22, 1957. The family has lived on the apple orchard in Tieton for the past 44 years.
Lavone loved the family farm and working the orchards. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing with family and friends. While Don and Sharon were growing up most summers included a “road trip” to Arkansas that was always memorable, with very few stops along the way.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Vernie; son Don (Pam) Stonecipher; daughter Sharon (Bob) Heer; two grandchildren, Mandy Stonecipher and grandson Brent (Jessica) Stonecipher, and by three great-grandchildren, Taya, Bodie and Trae.
