Donald I. Lines II
YAKIMA - Donald I. Lines II was born on September 19, 1949 in Yakima, Washington. He passed away August 20, 2006. He was 56 years old.
He attended first through 12th grade in the West Valley School District, and graduated from West Valley High School in 1969.
He met and married Myra Towell in March of 1975. They were married for 31 years.
Two sons were his delight: Kevin R. Lines, and Joel E. Lines. Don was a great father to his sons, whom he loved very dearly.
Don was a family man. His family was very important to him. He loved having time to spend with each one.
Friday or Saturday nights were date night for he and Myra to go out to dinner alone or with friends.
Don's loyalty to his family, his job at Tree Top for 19 years, and his church family was tremendous.
Don was the assistant Scout Master for several years when Kevin and Joel were in Scouts, and this was a very special time for him, with lots of memories!
Don was a person you could call on for help at any time. Don worked at Hanford for several years and at Tree Top for 19 years.
Judith Lines, his mother, preceded him in death.
Don is survived by his wife, Myra; his father, Donald Lines Sr.; his sons, Kevin Lines and Joel Lines; his sisters, Sandy Wilcox (Bruce) and Gail Lines; and by several nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10:30 at Tree of Life Christian Center in Naches.

Josefina Maria Peña
YAKIMA - Josefina Maria Peña, 78, of Granger passed away at Memorial Hospital on Aug. 20, 2006.
She was born May 3, 1928 in Morales, Mexico. On June 1, 1946 she married Anselmo Z. Peña. They moved to the Yakima Valley in 1956.
She was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Granger. She retired from Del Monte in Toppenish in 1996.
She loved playing with all her grandchildren. Also, she loved working in her garden with her flowers and sewing patch quilt blankets.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, her two sisters, one brother, one son, one grandson and one granddaughter.
Josefina is survived by 9 sons, Idelfonso Peña of Yakima, Juan and Kathy Peña of Las Vegas, NV, Victor and Barbara Peña of Seattle, WA, Anselmo Peña Jr. of Yakima, David Peña of Brentwood, CA, Daniel and Cruzita Peña of Yakima, Miguel Peña of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Enrique (Henry) Peña of Granger, and Ricardo and Christine Peña of Yakima; five daughters, Irma Rivera of Granger, Mary and Ramiro Ramos of Wapato, Nancy Peña of Granger, Yolanda and Jesus Galvan of Granger, and Alicia and Antonio Gonzalez of Yakima; numerous grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Special thanks to Yakima Memorial Hospital and Hospice for all the great care they gave. Also a special thanks to Fr. Jaime Chacon and Fr. Mike Ibach of Holy Family Church for the visits and the prayers in our greatest time of need.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wed. at 7pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Granger. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thurs. at 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Granger. Interment will follow in the Zillah City Cemetery.
Dustin Royal Lane
Dustin Royal Lane, 57, of Yakima, passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006 at Selah Convalescent Center.
Dustin was born May 19, 1949 in Yakima to Arthur Lee & Frances Vivian (Beebe) Lane. He attended Yakima area schools, then worked at Hy’s Mini Mart. A true outdoorsman, Dustin loved the mountains and hiking, having hiked the John Wayne Trail. He also loved animals. He was a generous man and had a kind word for everyone he met.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by three sisters, Frances Vivian (Marshall David) Remilard of Renton, WA, Cherrie (Marcos) Chavez of Yakima, and Mary K. Lane of Yakima. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Peter Willis Lane and Sandy Lee Lane.

Jesus Gutierrez Mendez
Jesus Gutierrez Mendez, 20, of Mabton died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006 at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland.
Mr. Mendez was born in Michoacan, Mexico. He was a farm laborer and worked in agriculture.
Survivors include his mother, Luz Maria Mendez of Merced, Calif.; three sisters, Floricel Gutierrez and Gloria Gutierrez of California and Adriana Gutierrez of Mabton; and two brothers, Robert Gutierrez of California and Abelcain Gutierrez of Mabton.
Viewing will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, with the rosary to be recited at 6 p.m., at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview. Burial will follow in Mabton City Cemetery.

Robert Carrasco Gutierrez, 47, of Mabton died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006.
Mr. Gutierrez was born in Michoacan, Mexico. He was a farm laborer and worked in agriculture.
Survivors include his mother, Maria Jesus Gutierrez of California; his wife, Rosa Elena Torres of Mabton; three daughters, Floricel Gutierrez and Gloria Gutierrez of California and Adriana Gutierrez of Mabton; two sons, Robert Gutierrez of California and Abelcain Gutierrez of Mabton; three sisters, Gracie Rodriguez, Angelina Gutierrez and Maria Luz Casillas of California; four brothers, Juan Rodriquez, Manual Rodriquez, Elias Gutierrez and Avelino Gutierrez, all of California.
