Edward Joseph “Jack” Davis
Edward Joseph “Jack” Davis, 82, of Yakima died Wednesday, January 28, 2009.
Mr. Davis was born in Wapato and served in the Navy. He lived in Yakima his entire life and worked as an electrician.
Survivors include a son, Danny Davis of Yakima; a daughter, Linda Button of Lafayette, Colo.; a brother, Al Davis of Roy, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory in Yakima is in charge of arrangements.
Roy Vernon Smith
TOPPENISH - Roy Vernon Smith, 97, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2009 in Toppenish. Roy was the son of Charley and Elizabeth (Howard) Smith. He was born on February 15, 1911 in McGrew, Nebraska.
Roy was a long time resident of Granger and a member of the Granger Assembly of God Church for 52 years. He served his church as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He worked for many years as a custodian and bus driver for the Granger School District.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Isa Smith. Roy's survivors include his two sons; David Newman of Mount Lake Terrace, WA, and Ray Newman of Selah, WA, three daughters; Loretta Steward of Auburn, WA, Thelma Campbell and Betty Anderson, both of Granger, WA, 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
Visitation for Roy will be at the Valley Hills Funeral Home Chapel in Zillah on Friday, January 30, 2009 from 1-5:00 p.m. A funeral service is scheduled on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Valley Hills Funeral Home Chapel in Zillah at 1:00 p.m. with burial immediately following at the Zillah Cemetery. Jacqueline Croswhite
July 3, 1927 - January 25, 2009
Jackie was born Jacqueline Olive Clara Mclean in Granger Washington. She moved to the Cowiche area, where she graduated from Highland High school, and lived most of her 81 years in the Yakima Valley. While working as the clerk of scales at Cowiche Growers, she met and married her love and best friend Freddie Croswhite. Through the years she was a member of the Daughters of the Pioneers, the National Genealogical Society, and the Yakima Valley Museum. She enjoyed raising her children, genealogy, gardening, owning and racing horses, travel, and playing Bingo.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Ashton Mclean and Edith Muriel Mclean, brothers Jerry Mclean, Duane Mclean, Ted Mclean, Sisters Phyllis Meyers, Joyce Lord, Darleen Croswhite, and her beloved grandson Jeremy Pruitt.
She leaves behind her brother Dean Mclean of Chicago, and her sister Donetta Newland of Spokane.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years Freddie Croswhite of Yakima; daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Chris Liersemann of Yakima; her son and daughter-in-law Norman and Judy Croswhite of Enumclaw; grandsons Brendon Mendoza of California, Chris Liersemann Jr. of Kansas, and 3 great grand children.
Thanks to the Doctors, nurses and Hospice care givers of Memorial Hospital of Yakima for their compassion and professional services.
Special thanks to all her nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law who have shared their thoughts of love and support. Their actions are deeply appreciated, and will always be remembered.
Viewing will be Thursday, January 29th 9:00AM to 7:00PM at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Terrace Heights. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, January 30th at West Hills Cemetery.
James Delano Robinson
YAKIMA - Jim (72) was born November 21, 1936 in Miles City, Montana, and passed to Heaven January 24, 2009, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
He served with the 82nd Airborne from 1952 to 1957 and after his honorable discharge, he returned to Miles City and married his wife of 51 years, Marilyn Welch. He worked as a high pressure gas welder for Montana Dakota Utilities in Montana and then moved to Yakima to work for Cascade Natural Gas. He retired in 1984 from Cascade Gas.
Jim loved the outdoors and especially liked his rides to the mountains to see all the wildlife. He also loved to work with wood and made many unique things for his wife, children and friends.
Jim is survived by his wife Marilyn and his five children; Jerie Betschart (Roger) of Kila, Mt., Jim Robinson (Carol) of Yakima, Joyle Weiler (Don) of Zillah, Jean Warner (Ron) of Yakima, and Jan Marshall (Randy) of Moxee, one brother, Marvin Robinson (Cora Jane) of Wenatchee, Wa. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Elba S and Florence Robinson, his sister Grace, and oldest brother George.
At Jim's request there will be no service held.

Mary Lou Blair Nugent
Mary Lou Blair Nugent, 75, of Yakima died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.
Mrs. Nugent was born in Granger. She worked for KIT Radio, and following her marriage, she moved to Renton, Wash., and worked as a retail clerk for Albertsons. She later worked as a credit manager for Cascade Air Gas. She retired in Yakima.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheri Nugent of Long Beach, Calif., and Lori Emmerton of Burien, Wash.; two sons, Michael Nugent of Saratoga Springs, Utah, and Dennis Nugent of Renton; three sisters, Nancy Darling of Los Altos, Calif., Jane Britz and Catherine Conner, both of Yakima; and eight grandchildren.
At her request, there will not be a funeral. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Alger Marcus Dilley
Alger Marcus Dilley, 67, of Yakima died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Dilley was a firefighter with the Tieton Fire Department and an emergency medical technician.
Survivors include his friend, Sandra Johnson.
At his request, there will be no services.
