Mary Catherine James
Mary Catherine James, 71, of Toppenish died Monday, Jamuary 12, 2009.
Mrs. James was born in Sawyer, Wash., and lived in the lower valley all of her life. She worked as a packer/sorter for Roche Fruit for 10 years.
Survivors include her husband, Mervin James of Toppenish and her brother, Curtis Hornbuckle of Buena.
At her request, no services are scheduled.
Valley Hills Funeral Home of Zillah is in charge of arrangements.
Lawrence Lloyd Moore
Lawrence Lloyd Moore, 77, of Yakima died Monday, January 12, 2009.
Mr. Moore was born in Seattle and served in the U.S. Army. He was the owner/operator of a towing company and gas station, and he moved mobile homes.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Moore of Yakima; a son, Damon Moore of Milton, Wash.; a daughter, Cindy Stahl of Oswego, Ill.; two brothers, Robert Moore of Ponca City, Okla., and Bruce Moore of Vacaville, California; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services are pending.

Kjell Svanoe
Kjell Svanoe, 75, of Yakima died Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Oslo, Norway. He worked as a painting contractor in California before coming to Yakima in 2006. He also served in the Norwegian army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Ann "Susie" McDonnell-Svanoe of Yakima; two sons, Marc McDonnell of Yakima and Lars Svanoe of Santa Clarita, Calif.; one daughter, Anya Toledo of Phoenix; one brother, Thorgein Svanoe of Vienna, Austria; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services are pending at Wiley Union Church.

Michael Lee Ross
Michael Lee Ross, 62, of Yakima, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 in Yakima.
Mr. Ross was born in Yakima.
He served in the Army and worked in the construction industry. He drove a forklift for Hi Country in Selah for many years.
Survivors include his stepmother, Bonnie Ross of Pasco; and six brothers, Robert Ross and Rocky Ross, both of Yakima, Richard Ross Jr. of Vacaville, Calif., Randall Ross of Clear Lake, Calif., Clayton Haskell of North Carolina and Tony Ross of Tacoma.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima.
Lela Belle Boucher
Lela Belle Boucher, 95, of Yakima died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Boucher was a lifelong Yakima Valley resident, born in Grandview and raised in Wapato. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, Arthur Boucher, Michael Boucher and Robin Boucher, all of Yakima; three sisters, Edna Wardall of Tacoma, Betty Kechley of Seattle and Billie Lee; two brothers, Frazier Brown and Don Brown, both of Yakima; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
At her request, there will be no services.

Maria de Jesus Dueņas Valadez de Muņiz
Maria de Jesus Dueņas Valadez de Muņiz, 77, of Yakima died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Dueņas Valadez de Muņiz was born in Ayo el Chico, Mexico. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Jose Muņiz of Yakima; a son, Alejandro Muņiz of Tijuana, Mexico; four daughters, Maria Silva and Bertha Silva, both of Yakima, and Maria Muņiz and Ofelia Muņiz, both of Tijuana; a sister, Trina Dueņas of Tijuana; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Monday, Jan 12 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m., at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Moxee, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Yakima.
Billy Eugene Tinnen
Billy Eugene Tinnen, 74, of Union Gap died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009 at Crescent Health Care in Yakima.
Mr. Tinnen was born in Ravanna, Mo., and served in the Navy and the Army. He spent more than 20 years in the military. He retired in Yakima, where he worked as a barber.
Survivors include his wife, Mitsuko Tinnen of Union Gap; two sons, Kerry Tinnen and B. Wade Tinnen of Yakima; a sister, Shirley Garcia of Richland; and one grandchild.
