Velora Mae (Heiner) Hall
TOPPENISH - Velora Mae (Heiner) Hall, 91, (the kindest soul), born January 20 1918 in Plainville, Kansas passed from this world April 19, 2009 at her home in Toppenish, WA with her family by her side. She was the second daughter born to Ruby Belle (Schmidt) and William (Bill) Edwin Heiner. She had four sisters and one brother, all who preceded her in death. William Wesley - just eleven days old, Marjorie, Peach, Zella Hill, Naomi Schlutter, and Florence Fenno.
Born in Kansas, moving to a ranch in Edwards, Colorado when in the second grade. Velora graduated high school in Grand Jct., CO where she met and married Myron Hall. They had three children, Kenneth Hall who passed away in 1963, he had open heart surgery in 1956 and for his health they settled in Toppenish, WA, Myra Reynolds, and Barbara Thorp still reside in Toppenish, WA.
They joined the LDS Church in 1962 and devoted themselves to various positions. They were sealed for Time and Eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. They spent their vacations visiting various Temples across the US.
Velora worked several years at the Coat Factory in Moxee, WA as well as doing custom sewing for many.
Velora was preceded in death by her husband, Myron, in 1987. She is survived by her two daughters; Myra Reynolds and Barbara Thorp, both of Toppenish, six grandchildren; Clayton Reynolds, Diana Van Leuven, Ryan Reynolds, Tim Thorp, Tracie Crook, and Shannon Thorp, twelve great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Viewing for Velora will be Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah from 1-5 p.m. A graveside service will be held at the Zillah Cemetery on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.

Federal Way, WA - Pearle Gladys (Bobbi) Maxfield Kirchner died Oct. 8, 2007, at age 80 in Federal Way.
She was born July 23, 1927, in Denby, S.D. She is survived by her partner, Gerry Bienusa of Federal Way; her daughter, Sharon Kirchner, and her partner, Perry Streeter of Wasilla, AK; her son Larry (Mary) Kirchner of Seattle; and son Michael (Connie) of Anchorage, AK
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is also survived by her sisters Irene Webster, Adah Knapstad and Dorothy Young.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 27 at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Kent. A celebration of her life will follow at her home.

Federal Way, WA - Donald T. Carter, a longtime resident of Washington, died Oct. 7, 2007, at age 78 in Auburn after fighting a gallant battle with cancer. Even during this time, family was everything to him.
born and raised in Hawaii, he was a pioneer of talk radio in Hawaii. He later owned several businesses and also did remodeling and cabinetry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Carter. He is survived by sisters Annette Regent and Jean Blyth; cousins Patricia Campos and Michael McCormack; daughter Suzanne Kuhel; grandchildren Chris and Melissa Kuhel.
There is no memorial service planned at this time.

Federal Way, WA - Kathryn “Kay” Jackson, 83, passed away peacefully Aug. 31, 2007, after a long battle with COPD and lung cancer. born in Everett and graduating from Queen Anne High School in Seattle, she had been a Federal Way resident for the past 60 years. Kay loved to read and worked as a librarian for the King County Library System in Federal Way for 30 years. After retiring, she was invited to many of the local elementary schools in Federal Way to give the history of Federal Way and the library. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Warren Jackson.
Survivors include daughter, Chris Lashua (Jack), of Enumclaw; sons Jerry Jackson (Penny) of Fircrest, Tim Jackson of St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Federal Way, WA - Myron P. Jacobs, born April 8, 1941, in Chewelah, WA, passed away July 11, 2007, in Federal Way at age 66.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadette; his daughters Lynne and Lisa; son-in-law Brett; grandsons Jeremiah and Justin; his parents Faye and Roy; and siblings Richard, Henry, Bonnie, Les, Betty and Jim; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Philip.
Myron retired after 35 years of service at Kaiser Aluminum. He enjoyed spending time with his family, helping his grandsons with projects, playing cards and fishing. He was an exceptional gardener who spent countless hours in his greenhouse. He never missed a Mariners game or an opportunity to help others. His friends and family meant everything to him. Myron will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
Services will be held 11 a.m. July 16 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Federal Way. There will be a viewing and rosary from 7 to 9 p.m. July 15 at Bonney-Watson Funeral Home in Federal Way.
Beek, Evelyn Van
Arlington, WA - Evelyn Van Beek, 86, went home to be with her Lord on April 10, 2007.
Evelyn was born in Lynden, Wash., April 17, 1920, and had been residing at Marysville Care Center for the past seven years.
She married Conrad Van Beek on June 15, 1945, in Lynden, Wash., and in 1947 they moved to Everett, Wash., where they raised their four sons. Evelyn was a faithful homemaker and life-time member of the Everett Christian Reform Church.
Evelyn is survived by her sons, Duane (Donna) Van Beek, of Pasco, Wash., Dennis (Shirley) Van Beek, of Everett, Arvin (Alice) Van Beek, of Marysville, and Alan (Norma) Van Beek, of Outlook. Also surviving are her 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Hamstra; sisters and brother-in-laws, Joyce and Tony Honcoop, Wilma and Ted Triezenberg; and a large extended family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Van Beek; sisters, Tracy Bogaard, Emma Vanderpol and Barbara Nyhoff.
Viewing was held from 5 - 8 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2007, and from 9-11 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville. Graveside Services were held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Evergreen Cemetery. A Memorial Service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2007, at the Everett Christian Reform Church, Everett.

Arlington, WA - June A. Soreide, 87, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2007.
born June 19, 1919, in Pinehurst, Wash., to Ray and Gladys Randall, she lived most of her life in the Marysville, Wash., area.
June leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Victor Soreide; daughter, Judith Klimke-Williams; granddaughter, Tami Wierman; and grandson-in-law, Jeffrey Wierman.
Visitation was from 6 - 8 p.m., Thursday, June 21, and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Friday, June 22, at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville. A service was held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, June 22, followed by interment at Cypress Lawn Cemetery in Everett.
