Anna Lois Thomas
Anna Lois (Prichard) Thomas, our beloved and beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife of our dad, passed away Friday, July 25, 2008 with her five children surrounding her with love and comforting her, while she went to the arms of the Lord.
She has done her duty on this earth to touch the hearts of everyone she met. Even if they knew her only a short time, she left a large impact. With her sweet Southern accent, people were instantly attracted by her charm. Our mother spoiled us dearly in her own special way, even though it wasn’t always the best way. It was her way and she dared anyone who wanted to challenge that. In the end, all of us children have a special bond. Our mom and dad lost their beloved eldest son, Mickey, at an early age, so we believe this is why our mother was so overly protective of all of her children.
Our mother was very proud of us, including all her grandchildren. She, thankfully, lived long enough to see her one and only great-grandbaby, Landon Rex McDaniel, come into this world last November, which was a very proud moment in our parents’ lives. Our mother worked very hard all of her life raising her kids, taking care of the home and being a great wife to our dad. She was the most selfless person ever. Her family always came first, ALWAYS.
She will be greatly missed. She was the family’s “Queen Bee”. She was the center of all our lives. Mom came into this world on May 9, 1928 to Walter and Julie Prichard in Chattanooga, TN. She met and married Jacob Michael Thomas on September 29, 1945.
Besides being survived by her husband of 63 years, she is survived by her children, Steve (Patti) Thomas of Oregon, Sharon (Dave) Dunbar of Yakima, Melissa LeDent of Yakima, David Thomas of Yakima and Dean (Wendy) Thomas of Camas, WA; grandchildren, Jason Bartlett, Jamie Thomas, Brent Thomas, Nicholas Thomas, Tyler LeDent, Erin LeDent, Brandi Thomas, Travis Thomas, Amanda Hepner; great-grandson Landon McDaniel; numerous nieces and nephews; siblings, all of Chattanooga, TN: Hershel (Madge) Prichard, Dorothy Gann, Walter Prichard, Jack (Linda) Prichard, Larry (Judy) Prichard, Barbara Weller, Doris (Mickey) Wilson; sister-in-law Julia Jundt and brother-in-law Paul Briski. She was preceded in death by a son, Mickey; a sister, Francis; her parents, Walter and Julie Prichard; numerous sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law and her mother-in-law, Magdalena Thomas.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held Friday, August 1 at 7:00 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Yakima. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Timothy Alan Paschen
Timothy Alan Paschen arrived in the land of angels on July 22, 2008. He was born to Bart and Judy Paschen in Seattle on November 25, 1959.
Tim married the love of his life, Charlena Spaulding, on November 19, 1983 and together they had four beautiful children.
Tim attended Eisenhower High School in Yakima. He was employed as a cook in various restaurants in Yakima and Seattle before going to work at NAPA Auto Parts in Selah. He worked there for 16 years, the last 5 as store manager. He left employment there last year to fulfill a dream of working for himself. With the help of his wife and children, he opened the PlayNTrade video game store in Selah on June 1, 2007. He loved the store and all the customers, especially the younger ones. He had a great sense of humor, and his corny jokes and zany antics were enjoyed by all. The store became a "safe place" for kids to hang out. He touched many lives and will be remembered by everyone who met him.
As a child, he had a vivid imagination. Once he told his mother that there was a "Giant at school with a Big Mouth". Upon investigation, it turned out to be a backhoe digging a trench. Typical Tim.
Tim enjoyed reading, sports, music and playing guitar and singing. He was a Seahawk fan and a very devoted and loyal Mariners fan. He loved John Lennon and the Beatles and could answer just about any trivia question about them. One thing is certain, he won't just make the angels smile, he'll have them laughing out loud -- and singing the Beatles!
His greatest joy, however, was his family. He was always ready for family BBQs and loved the family dinners and get togethers at holidays.
He was not only Dad, but best friends with all his children. He was not only Husband, but friend, confidant, and "Rock" to his wife.
Tim is survived by his wife, Charlena, four children, Tyler, Adam, Samantha, and John, all of Selah, his parents, Bart and Judy Paschen of Yakima, and his brothers, Andy (Sarilyn), Ken (Tammie) of Ellensburg, and Tom (Vicki) of Everett, and by numerous relatives and in-laws. He was preceded in passing by his grandparents Jim and Nell Paschen and Virgil and Viola Treadwell, and by his uncle Tom Paschen.
Tim is now our Guardian Angel.
A guardian angel sometimes flies so high as to be beyond our sight, but he is always looking down upon us. (Jean Paul Reichter)

Ransa Faye Kagley
YAKIMA - Ransa Faye Kagley, 87, loving grandmother, mother, and deeply devoted friend passed away Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 at Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Grandma leaves behind a living legacy of faith, compassion, generosity, and a genuine commitment to others.
Grandma was the youngest child of John and Josephine Hensley, born February 11, 1921 in Grandview, Washington. The Hensleys came to the Yakima Valley from Missoula, Montana in a covered wagon in the summer of 1920 and settled in Grandview where her father found work constructing various roads and canals using his team of Clydesdales.
In 1924, Grandma and her family moved to the Wenatchee Valley where her father found work constructing Blewett Pass. When Grandma was ready to start school the family settled in Zillah where her father began his career as a ditch rider for the Sunnyside irrigation District.
Grandma had vivid memories of growing up in Zillah during the depression. She always felt her family was fortunate because both of her parents were able to work and earn money during a time when many people couldn't find work. From the depression she learned that people were more important than things and that relationships with others were the true treasures. Friendships are what she collected over her lifetime.
After graduating from Zillah High School in 1939, Grandma met and married the love of her life, George Kagley, on September 18, 1940 in Yakima and settled in Zillah in the home that Grandma lived in until the last days of her life. They raised and cherished two beautiful daughters, Una Faye and Linda.
Grandma worked alongside Grandpa building nearly 100 homes in Zillah. They also built and remodeled numerous homes throughout the Yakima Valley.
Grandma and Grandpa's greatest joy in life was their family. Whether it was fishing at Rimrock or Horsethief Lake, skiing on the Yakima and Columbia Rivers, day trips to the mountains, weekend trips to the Pacific Coast, or Sunday night dinners, they never let their family forget how important and loved they were.
Grandma was an involved member of her community. She believed it was her duty and responsibility to be an active participant in all local goings-on. She was a member of the Zillah Garden Club, the Red Hat Ladies, the Zillah Alumni Association, and a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Toppenish. Grandma took great pride in the efforts towards the beautification of the Zillah Cemetery and various parks around town.
Grandma was more than a grandmother to Lori, Cheryl, and Marc. By participating in all areas of their lives from the time of birth, an unbreakable bond was formed. She was the foundation that gave each of them the fortitude to stand strong in the good times and bad. Grandma loved each of them unconditionally. Each of them would say that "Grandma helped make me who I am today."
Grandma's faith in Jesus Christ gave her strength to persevere in the face of many trials. As the surviving member of her generational family, she watched her parents; her husband; her brothers and sister, Elmer, Horace, and Aleen; and all her sibling’s spouses pass away. She also watched as her younger daughter succumbed to cancer.
Grandma is survived by one daughter, Una Faye (Bill) Seehafer; five grandchildren: Lori (Scott) Cleveringa, Cheryl (Scott) Anglin, Marc (Jann) Lantis, Abbie (Denny) Naumec, and April Seehafer (Marc Dinges); thirteen much loved great-grandchildren: Kristen, Mikaela, and Jacob Cleveringa; Josh and Brad Anglin; Brandee, Emilee, Raecheal Lantis, Sydney, Nicholas and Melinda Naumec; Patrick and Grace Cinges; a son-in-law, Larry Lantis; and numerous nephews and a niece. She is also survived by special neighbors: Laura Vangstad; Ray, Jan, and Suzanne Merk; Greg, Dottie, and Tyler Pendergrass, and Lori Steinmetz; all of her very special friends from the Zillah Garden Club; the Red Hat Ladies; and the members of the United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made in her name at Valley Hills Funeral Home. In her honor, a memorial will be erected at the Zillah Cemetery.
Viewing will be on Monday, July 28, 2008 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah from 5 - 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the Valley Hills Chapel in Zillah at 11:00 a.m. with burial following at the Zillah Cemetery.
