Irene L. Doolin
YAKIMA - Irene L. Doolin, 81, of Yakima, WA died Sunday, November 4, 2012 in Yakima.
Irene was born May 29, 1931 in Minot, North Dakota to Jack and Christine (Ackerman) Heit. Irene was one of five children, and came here as a small child with her family. She attended school in Toppenish and graduated from Toppenish High School. Irene later went to YVCC, where she met the love of her life, James R. Doolin, and they were married on June 29, 1951.
Irene traveled along with Jim to Travis Air Force Base, where Jim Jr. was born. They later returned to Washington to make their home, having three more children along the way. Irene worked several jobs, including warehouse work, and taking care of children, which was the highlight of her life. She was a member of St. Aloysius Parish and St. Paul Cathedral Parish. After retiring, Jim and Irene traveled south and wintered at the Fountain of Youth Spa, in Niland, California where she continued to go to enjoy her water exercises. She had many friends and enjoyed bingo, knitting, reading and crossword puzzles. Irene was an avid sun lover and enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family.
With the help of her son, Steven, Irene continued to go down south until she was not able to travel. Her son also made it possible for her to remain in her home until December of 2011. She spent the last year at Chesterley Court. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Chesterley Meadows for the wonderful care and love they showed mom.
Irene was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Irene is survived by her children, Lori (Phillip) Novobielski, Jeni Doolin (Larry), and Steven Doolin (Bonnie) all of Yakima, WA; sisters, Rosie (Leonard) Houle and Eleanor Morin; brother, Leonard (Roslie) Heit; grandchildren, Joshua Doolin, Amanda Silva, Joshua Kivett, Christopher Watts, Leanne Morse (Savannah and Austin Morse), Jason Doolin (Jayauna Doolin), Sarah Peregoy (Aiden and Sebastian Peregoy), Latoya Gomez (Tristan Gomez), Tiana Doolin (Kadin Overbay and Kenzy Doolin), and Thaddeus Doolin (Abigail Doolin and Brooke Nesary). She was preceded in death by son Jim Jr., her husband James, her parents and one brother, Richard Heit.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home and on Tuesday, November 13th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with at Rosary to begin at 5:30 p.m. also at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 14th at St. Paul Cathedral with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Donald R. Wenzel
YAKIMA - Donald R. Wenzel (83) of Yakima, WA left his earthly home to join his beloved wife Carol on October 18th, 2012.
Don was born September 26th 1929 in Yakima, WA, the son of Raymond R. & Nelda A. (Haeckel) Wenzel. At the age of 1 1/2, he then moved to Brentwood, CA, where he resided to the age of 14. At that time, he returned to Yakima, attended Yakima area schools and graduated from Yakima Senior High School in 1947.
He served in the Army (Korean War) from 1951 until 1953, when he was honorably discharged. He returned at that time to the Yakima Valley to live out the remainder of his years. Don truly loved the Yakima Valley and the Pacific Northwest. His favorite things to do were camping, fishing, hunting, and golfing, all of which were abundant in the Pacific Northwest. He also enjoyed the distinct four seasons. Much of his time was spent doing those activities with family and his many, many friends. Later in life, he very much enjoyed playing bridge at the Harmon Senior Center with his bridge family.
On February 14th, 1963, he married Carol Jean Mitchell at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Yakima, WA. This union remained intact until Carol’s death on December 29, 2009. He was very proud of his 46 year marriage. Don worked many jobs throughout his life, but he was proudest of his career with the City of Yakima, where he was a Civil Engineer & Acting City Engineer for a period of time. He was able to retire after 25 years of service. Don & Carol enjoyed their retirement years golfing at Desert Aire, traveling through the United States and their annual trip to Reno. They remained inseparable until Carol’s passing.
Don was preceded in death by his loving wife Carol, his parents Raymond & Nelda Wenzel, his in-laws Frank & June Mitchell and his brother-in-law Steve Mitchell. Don is survived by his 4 children, Wendy J. Speer (Randy), and Laura R. Tyler both of Yakima, Donald E. Wenzel of Petersburg, VA and Jeanette McCarthy (Mac) of Yakima; 9 grandchildren, Tyler (Abigail), Adam (Lauren), Lisa, David, Holly, Emily, Andrew, Natalie and Nicole (Josh); 6 great grandchildren; sister, Sharon Cook (Doug) of Bullhead City, AZ; sister-in-law, Marsha Van Dyck (Bill) of Milton Freewater, OR; brother-in-law, Ken Mitchell (Lorayne) of Placentia, CA; many nephews, nieces and friends; and his beloved poodle, Lacee.
Our Dad was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law and friend. He touched many lives and loved all in his own way. We will miss you very much, but we know how happy you are to be with Mom. No good-bye, just we love you and will join you when our time comes.
Viewing will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2012 at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 27th, also at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Tahoma Cemetery. Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Florence Coble
Florence Coble passed away October 24, 2012.
Florence was born Florence Wilson June 18, 1931 in Richland, Washington to Roy and Edna (Stone) Wilson. The family moved to Moxee, Washington where she grew up. Florence met and eventually married Gilbert Coble on December 3, 1950. Florence and Gilbert made their home in Yakima raising three children. Florence worked as a caregiver at Selah School. She then worked at Del Monte Cannery in Yakima and packed apples at fruit warehouses in the valley.
In 1987 Florence and Gilbert moved to Mattawa for retirement. She lived at home until her death.
Florence is survived by her 2 sons, Gilbert Leroy Coble Junior and wife Margaret, and Gary Coble and wife Donna. She had 8 grandchildren, Michelle Coble Morrison, Eric Coble, Daniel Coble, Kevin Webster, Sam Webster, Tammy Webster, Brandon Coble, and Ben Coble, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. Florence is also survived by a brother Donald Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Rita and her husband Gilbert as well as two brothers Nathaniel Wilson and Melvin Wilson. Florence was a loving mother and grandmother and will be forever in our hearts.

Graveside service will be held Monday, October 29, 2012 at 10:00 AM at West Hills Memorial Park, Yakima, WA.

Dale A. Aichele
Dale A. Aichele, 78, of Toppenish died Thursday at Toppenish Community Hospital.
Mr. Aichele was born in Milton-Freewater, Ore. He worked as an agricultural engineer for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, stationed at the Yakama Agency in Toppenish. After retiring, he sold real estate for Century 21.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Bowles of Yakima; a son, David Aichele of Moscow, Idaho; a brother, Murit Aichele of Yakima; a sister, Jean Holt of The Dalles, Ore.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A private family graveside service will be held in Mt. Hope Cemetery in College Place, Wash.
Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Leroy Chase "Wamblee Wastee" (Good Eagle)
Leroy Chase "Wamblee Wastee" (Good Eagle), 62, of Yakima died Wednesday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Chase was born in Troutdale, Ore., and raised in Mandaree, N.D. He worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a trust officer, most recently in the Yakama Agency in Toppenish. He retired after 33 years in August.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Brown of Lewiston, Idaho; two sons, Sheldon Chase of Yakima and Percy Chase of New Town, N.D.; a daughter, Lisa YellowBird; a brother, Gary Chase of Newport News, Va.; a sister, Joyce Rave of Mandaree; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Colonial Funeral Home on Friday. Wake services will be Sunday in Mandaree, with Mass of Christian burial at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Mandaree on Monday. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery.
Colonial Funeral Home of Toppenish and Fulkerson Funeral Home of Watford City, N.D., are in charge of arrangements.

Lena E. Floyd
Lena E. Floyd, 94, of Grandview died Thursday.
Mrs. Floyd was born in Barberton, Wash.
Survivors include her step-children, Myrtle Nelson and Alvin Hawkins.
Burial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside.
Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, is in charge of arrangements.
