Harry Lee Harvey
Harry Lee Harvey, 79, of Yakima died Thursday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Harvey was born in Bradleyville, Mo., and spent much of his life in Yakima. He served in the Navy from 1945 through 1947. He was a self-employed contractor.
Survivors include three sons, John Harvey of Olympia, Joseph Harvey of Tieton and James Harvey of Yakima; four daughters, Juanita Parker of Spokane, Catherine Penning and Lola Jacobe of Yakima and Rebecca Harvey of Seattle; two brothers, John Harvey and Tom Harvey of Lacey, Wash.; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Terrace Heights Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 105 Hillcrest Drive. Funeral service will follow at noon Monday, also at the church. Burial will be in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory, Yakima, is in charge of arrangements.

Alice E. Roszell
Alice E. Roszell, 96, of Ellens-burg died Monday at Kittitas Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Ms. Roszell was born, raised and educated in Greeley, Colo. In 1985 she moved to Ellensburg.
Survivors include a niece, Ann Black of Ellensburg; a sister-in-law, Violet Williams of Joliet, Mont.; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at the Ellensburg Senior Center, 506 S. Pine St. Following cremation, inurnment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver, Colo.
Affordable Funeral Care of Ellensburg is in charge of arrangements.

Doris Jewel Scherr
Doris Jewel Scherr, 83, of Richland, a former Yakima Valley resident, died Monday.
Mrs. Scherr was born in Aberdeen, S.D., and raised, in what is today, the Standing Rock Cheyenne Sioux Indian Territory. After marrying, she farmed and ranched north of Timber Lake, S.D., on the family farm until they moved to Washington, settling in Mabton during the spring of 1953. She worked as a jockey in Timber Lake and later as a mechanic for Twin City Foods in Prosser.
Survivors include her children, Michael Gustav Scherr of Pasco, Patricia Marie (Scherr) Kleinow Hamrick of Spirit Lake, Idaho, Robert Alan Scherr of Kennewick, Gerald Russell Scherr of Graham, Wash., and Franklin Edward Scherr of Sunnyside; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from noon to 4 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Funeral service will be at noon Sunday, also at the funeral home. Another funeral service will be at noon Friday at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge, S.D., and burial will follow in Timber Lake.

James Harold Nichols
James Harold Nichols, 78, of Selah died Wednesday in Yakima.
Mr. Nichols was born in Kalispell, Mont., and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He farmed with his wife's family in the Flathead Valley, Mont., before he accepted a position as a research analyst with the National Security Agency. He worked at Fort Mead, Md., from 1977 until his retirement at the Yakima Training Center. The family settled near Naches and had a small cherry orchard.
Survivors include his wife, Nona of Selah; two sons, Clifford of Toppenish and Timothy of Brookings, S.D.; a brother, Donald of Portland; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, with a vigil service beginning at 4 p.m., at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church in Naches. Graveside committal services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Conrad Memorial Cemetery in Kalispell, Mont.

Barbara L. Douglas
Barbara L. Douglas, 71, of Yakima died Thursday.
Mrs. Douglas was born in Yakima. She worked in various jobs throughout the area, most memorably at Don's Dairy Queen, and most recently at Wal-Mart.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Thijs of Oceanside, Calif.; three sons, Edward Douglas Jr., of Selah, Samuel Douglas and Thomas Douglas of Yakima; a brother, Richard Ball of Seattle; a sister, Gladys Smith of Yakima; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Keith and Keith Funeral Home.

Conrad Cavasos
Conrad Cavasos, 55, of Sunnyside died Wednesday.
Mr. Cavasos was born in Meadow, Texas. He was a truck driver for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie Cavasos; a son, Conrad Cavasos II; a daughter, Celeste Cavasos, all of Sunnyside; and one grandchild.
Memorial services will be held at the Christian Reformed Church at a later date.
