Prater, Harold Arnold
Arlington, WA - Harold Arnold Prater, 82, passed away suddenly on April 9, 2007, at Birchview Memory Care Center in Sedro-Woolley, Wash.
He was born on April 24, 1914, in Priest River, Idaho the second child of Benton and Myrtle (Huff) Prater.
During WWII, Hap served as a Seaman 1st Class in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. New Mexico. For most of his working career, he drove truck for various companies. He retired from Miller Shingle in Granite Falls, Wash., in 1988. Hap was very involved as a Mason, and served as Past Master of Crystal Lodge No. 122 in Marysville, Wash.
Harold is survived by his only daughter, Julie Olson and husband George, of Everett; and three granddaughters, Becky Olson, of Redmond, and Brianna and Lindsay Olson, both of Everett. He also leaves behind two sisters, June Humann and husband Glenn, and Pauline Rickert, all of Everett; one sister-in-law, Ellen Prater, of Mount Vernon, Wash.; his ex-wife, Alicia Prater, of Marysville; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; sister, Fern Larrabee; brother, Tom Prater; son, Keith Prater; and brothers-in-law, Rick Rickert and Dave Larrabee.
A special thanks to the staff at Birchview Memory Care for taking such good care of Hap. We dont know what we would have done without all of you.
A graveside service was held at 11:30 a.m., on Monday, April 16, 2007, at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. A gathering to celebrate Haps life and share in refreshments followed at the Masonic Hall, 1023 E College Way, Mount Vernon.

Brownie, Gaynard
Arlington, WA - Gaynard Brownie passed away on April 7, 2007, at home in Silvana, Wash.
Brownie was born on Aug. 26, 1928, in White Earth, Minn.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children, Rita Johnson (Rudy) of Hopkins, Minn., Gaynard (Sherry) of Pequot Lake, Minn., Greg (Nancy) of Minneapolis, Minn., James of Bloomington, Minn., Jenny of Minneapolis, Brenda Whiltock of Corona, Calif.; step-sons, Sam Beesley (Donna) and Terry Beesley (Dawn) of Arlington, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nephew and nieces.
We would like to give special thanks to Providence Hospice, very special friends Marie Ferguson and golfing buddy Don Boston.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., April 14, 2007, at the Sportsman Saloon in downtown Stanwood.
Schleichert, Kurt Michael
Arlington, WA - Kurt Michael Schleichert, 65, of Arlington, Wash., passed away April 11, 2007, in Everett, Wash.
He was born to Elroy and Wavah Schleichert Oct. 30, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wis.
In 1959, Kurt graduated from Muskego High School of Muskego, Wis., and then served in the U.S. Navy, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was the commander of Jim Creek Naval Base in Arlington. He also received the CINCPACFLT Ship Handling Award, the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat V and was a Vietnam War veteran.
After retiring from the Navy he became Superintendent of Signals with the Washington State Department of Transportation. In retirement, he volunteered at Eagle Creek Elementary and the Retired Military Association and participated in the Retired Officer Association.
Kurt loved wildlife and the outdoors, but the real joy of his life was his grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his brother Tommy and his grandson Timmy.
Surviving Kurt is his loving wife of over 45 years, Dorothy, of Arlington; children, Kurt Michael Jr. of Mt. Vernon, Wash., Annette of Stanwood, Wash., Jacqueline of Stanwood; siblings, Dave of North Prairie, Wis., Lori of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren and many friends.
A memorial service was held at11 a.m., Saturday, April 14 2007, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Arlington.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
Stewart, Dan
Arlington, WA - Stories were told and memories shared in celebration of the life of Dan Stewart, family man and outdoorsman, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2007, at the Everett Golf and Country Club, Everett, Wash.
born Dec. 14, 1945, in Birmingham, Ala., Dan spent his childhood in Millburn, NJ, and studied two years at Fairleigh-Dickinson University before serving in the Vietnam War as an artillery officer. A 1st Lieutenant and recipient of the Purple Heart, Dan returned stateside and married his wife, Diane Dealaman, in 1970. Dan moved his family to the Seattle, Wash., area in 1977, and immediately fell in love with the Pacific Northwest.
Dan spent 35 successful years in the telecommunications industry, almost all with the young Bell system and AT&T;, where he managed global accounts notably Airborne Express. A resident of Bellevue, Wash., for 20 years, he moved with his family to Camano Island, Wash., in 2000 where he recently began a budding career in real estate. Dan died unexpectedly Wednesday at home due to a heart condition.
Dan was an avid golfer, outdoorsman and gardener whose true passion was his family. Dans success in business was due in part to his tireless work ethic, but also to his special ability to create genuine corporate, professional and personal relationships. Dan loved football, great food, and a great party. He told the greatest stories. He loved to welcome people into his home and was immensely proud of his family.
Dan is survived by his wife, Diane of 36 years; father, Daniel G. Stewart; brother, Richard; two sons, Russell and Dan and his wife, Michelle; granddaughter, Audrey; and many close friends.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to your favorite charity in memory of Daniel W. Stewart.
Michael W. Morgan
1950 - 2008
Michael passed away on October 13, 2008, surrounded by his family and friends, after a valiant battle against cancer and kidney disease. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor.
Mike was born January 3, 1950 in Seattle, WA. He lived in the Seattle area his entire life with the exception of the 4 years he honorably served in the Navy. He spent his life enjoying volunteering with the Bothell Fire Department, ‘57 Chevys, flying his airplane, square dancing, playing in a rock band, teaching CATIA, woodworking projects and spending time with his family and friends. Mike drew great strength from his Faith in God.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susie; his daughter, Jennifer; granddaughters, Amanda and Delaney; brother, Rick; and half-sister, Joyce.
Remembrances can be made in his honor to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center or Habitat for Humanity.
