Ronald Franklin Davis
Ronald “Ron” Franklin Davis passed away June 6th, 2008. Ron was born to Bill and Dell Davis on March 8th, 1948, in Yakima, Washington. He was raised in Naches and spent his entire life in the community he loved.
Whenever possible Ron could be found in his beloved mountains hunting for mushrooms. His love of the mountains began at an early age hiking with his grandfather, father and brother. He treasured any opportunity to take his dog Angel on a drive to Timber Wolf Lookout.
Ron’s life could be defined as love for family and friends, good and bad jokes and the telling of elaborate stories. He will be remembered for how hard he laughed, and how much he cared for those close to him.
His greatest joy was his daughter Kay and his grandson Ben. Whenever Ron wasn’t bragging about Kay he was telling stories about Ben. He was always eager to teach Ben about nature, how to whittle, and time-tested ways to tell the same stories over and over again.
He is survived by his daughter Barbara “Kay” Crowley, son-in-law, Mike Crowley, and grandson Benjamin Davis Crowley of Spokane, WA; his sister Lenita “Jane” Parris, brother-in-law, Len Parris and their daughter, Meghan Parris of Woodinville, WA; and his brother Bill G. Davis, sister-in-law, Patty Davis and their daughters Erin and Sara Davis of Santa Barbara, CA.
There will be a void in the town Naches without Ron. He will be dearly missed by those who were touched by him. He was loved, respected and enjoyed by all who had the opportunity to know him and call him friend.
At Ron’s request, there will be no formal services, but there will be an informal reception to celebrate Ron’s time with us at the Apple Cart Deli in downtown Naches on Sunday, June 8th, 2 to 4 pm. All of Ron’s friends are welcome to attend.
Instead of flowers, Ron and his family would prefer that any memorials be given to the Naches Fire Department.
