Dallas Keith Bartlette
Dallas Keith Bartlette, 61, of Yakima died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.
Mr. Bartlette was born in Walhalla, N.D. He worked as a heavy machinery mechanic.
Survivors include two sons, Jody and Houston; two daughters, Kimberly and Amber; five brothers, Mark Bartlette, Dennis Bartlette, Roger Bartlette, Dean Bartlette and Larry Bartlette; and two sisters, May Hagen and Jean Songer.
At the family's request, there will be no services.

Michael L. Travis
Michael L. Travis, 55, of Kennewick died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Kennewick General Hospital.
Mr. Travis was born in Sunnyside. He was an air controller in the military until he retired.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Travis of Kennewick; his parents, Barbara Dillard of Grandview and Benjamin Travis of Moses Lake; four sons, Benjamin Travis of Kennewick, Terran Travis of Cheney, Wash., Michael Johnson of Norfolk, Va., and Darrel Johnson of Spokane; a daughter, Janell Polnitske of Fairview Heights, Ill.; a brother, Mitch Travis of Yakima; two sisters, Michele Haselbacher of Walla Walla and Myra Mathews of Normandy Park, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
An informal gathering service will be held at the family home Saturday in Kennewick.

Arthur Bradley Fowler
TOPPENISH - Arthur Bradley Fowler, age 52, passed away on March 2, 2008 in Toppenish. He was born in Toppenish on December 10, 1955 to David J. and Natalie M. (Smith) Fowler.
Mr. Fowler attended Wapato schools and graduated from Davis High School. He attended Phoenix Institute of Technology, where he studied mechanics. He also worked as a flagger for traffic control, and served four years in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his father, David J. Fowler, and his brother, Matthew D. Fowler.
He is survived by his mother, Natalie Fowler of Yakima; his son Arthur (Erin) Fowler of Bellingham; his sisters, Angelica (Peter) Williams of Yakima, Lorinda (Murray) Bowden of Union Gap, and Davina (Clarence) Leach of Wapato; his grandchildren, Josephine, Saquoiah and Ryleigh, his former wife Cecile Warbus of Olympia, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday March 8, 2008 at Gateway Old Town Assembly of God Church in Union Gap. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. at the church, with burial to follow at West Hills Memorial Park.
Fanny A. Holmes
Fanny A. Holmes, 82, of Yakima died Thursday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Holmes was born in Ketchikan, Alaska. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Clell Holmes of Yakima; a son, Ronald Holmes of Yakima; a daughter, Gail Brown of Cowiche; a brother, Robert Nerup of Olympia; and a sister, Flora Knapp of Kent.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

J.D. Murphy
J.D. Murphy of Moxee, Washington went to be with his Lord and Savior January 29, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. J.D. was born July 17, 1933 to Dutch and Ruth Babcock Murphy. J.D. served in the Korean Conflict and after his discharge married his childhood sweetheart Judith Marie Fulks.
Dad's true love in life was his family and working on his farm in Moxee. Whether it was building homes for his son and grandchildren, or planting beautiful trees on his farm, there was nothing he couldn't do once he set his mind to it. Dad also loved history, genealogy, reading the Bible and politics.
Dad is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Judith Marie Murphy, son Randy and his wife Deborah of Moxee and his two precious grandbabies Joshua David and Rachel "Little Tree" Murphy all of Moxee. Also his sister Mary and husband David Saylors of Yakima. Dad was preceded by his parents Dutch and Ruth Murphy, brothers Charles, Billy, Junior, and James Murphy and sister Lilly.
At Dad's request there will be no funeral service. Donations can be made to PanCan.org researching a cure for pancreatic cancer.
Dad, we will love and miss you forever.
Helen Marie Woolhouse
Helen Marie Woolhouse, 80, of Buena died Saturday.
Mrs. Woolhouse was born in Belcourt, N.D. She lived in Buena for more than 40 years and was a homemaker. She was part of the Dancing Grannies for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Johnson of Selah and Misie Rambeau of Vancouver, Wash.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah.

Peggy (Dovie) Mattern
Peggy Mattern, age 104 passed away peacefully on January 26, 2008. She was the third of seven children born to Joe and Belle Collins on January 18, 1904 in Carlin, Arkansas.
Peggy had a very full life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. At the age of seventeen, Peggy married Ed Ethridge. After seven years, their marriage ended, and Peggy along with their daughter Beulah Lee made the long train ride from Arkansas to the lower Yakima Valley where her parents and siblings were settled. Working in the fruit industry, and doing some restaurant work allowed Peggy to help her parents to make ends meet. Soon, Peggy met and married her second husband, Frank Orlando. They had two sons, Frank Jr. and Paul. After eleven years, their marriage ended. In 1945, Peggy married her third husband Paul Mattern. Together, they bought and renovated the old TB hospital and its surrounding property, turning it into several apartments, which they rented out to make their living. She and Paul had over forty happy years together and in later years spent time traveling and fishing whenever they got the chance.
Peggy had three loves in her life: family (including her church family), fishing, and crocheting. She also enjoyed reading the Bible, going to Church, gardening, and caring for the flowers in her yard. She was a life long member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She lived at home with her granddaughter Vickie and great granddaughter Nadene until Nov. 7, 2007 when she fell and broke her hip.
Peggy is survived by her daughter-in-law Carmen Orlando, stepdaughter Helen Shults, twenty-two grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Mattern, her parents and all her siblings; her sons, Paul S. Orlando, Frank Orlando and his wife Lucille, and her daughter Beulah Lee Robertson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Fairview Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 1010 S. Fair Avenue in Yakima. No graveside services due to the weather.
