Bruce Lee Baker
YAKIMA - Bruce Lee Baker, 50, of Yakima went to be with Jesus on Dec. 3, 2007. Bruce was born in Everett, WA on August 27, 1957 to Blaine L. and Betty Baker. The family moved to Yakima in 1962 where Bruce continued to reside.
Bruce married the love of his life, Rhea Ebbelaar on August 24, 1991 and together brought into this world four beautiful daughters.
Bruce worked in the automobile industry for over twenty-five years and for the last twenty years was manager of Brown Boys. Bruce was known for having the most integrity and honesty in his profession. As many would testify, Bruce's customers became his friends.
Other than his family, the joy of his life was working on automobiles. His last project and pride and joy was a yellow 1962 Chevy Biscayne. Another joy of his life was hosting family get-togethers, especially the Baker Family Christmas. He was an expert at deep fried chicken and corn on the cob, as all of his friends that gathered with him on Friday nights could attest to.
Bruce is survived by: his loving wife, Rhea; four daughters, Lacey, Lindsey, Lexie and Elyse, all of Yakima; his mother, Betty Carney; two brothers, Dennis L. & Glendora Baker and Jim & Jennifer Baker, both of Yakima; and four sisters, Dianna and Jim Kegley, Cathy & Dan Floyd and Cindy and Richard Roy, all of Yakima, and Steve Moore of The Dalles, OR. He had eighteen nieces and nephews, Susan White, Dennis Baker II, David Buchanan, Misty Pollock, Josh Krueger, Jennifer Kallevig, Chrisanna Harrington, Sara Brownell, Samantha Deyette, Logan Moore, Colton Moore, Amy Perez, Jonathan House, Ashley House, Nicolas House, Nathan House, Taylor House, and Jade Roy. He also had thirty-one great nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by: his father, Blaine L. Baker; his pa, Thomas L. Carney; and his sister, Jane Porter.
Bruce will be missed by all whose lives he touched. "We love you, Brucie and we can't wait for the Baker Family Christmas in Heaven."
Funeral Services will be held today, Thursday, Dec. 6 at 2:00 p.m. at the Yakima Bible Baptist Church, 6201 Tieton Drive with burial to follow in Terrace Heights Memorial Park. A Memorial Fund has been set up at Yakima National Bank in Bruce's name.
"I know how much you miss me. I see the pain inside your heart but I am not so far away, we really aren't apart. So be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you dear, and be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I send you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above; I sent you each a memory of my undying love. After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold, it was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do. For I can't count the blessings or love, he has for each of you. So have a merry Christmas, and wipe away that tear.
Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year."

Martina (Acob) Colima
YAKIMA - Martina (Acob) Colima passed away on Thursday November 15th, 2007 at the Yakima home of her daughter, Barbara Acob, after receiving several months of tender and loving care from many family members and friends. The pain of her passing is lessened by our belief that she is now resting quietly while waiting for the quick return of her savior and Lord.
Her husband is Filiberto Hernandez Colima from Yakima. Her ex-husband, and the father of her children, is Jose G. Acob, Sr. from Yuma, Arizona.
She had three sons (Jose Acob, Jr. from Richland, Phillip Acob, and Anthony Acob both from Yakima) and two daughters (Josephine Acob-Campbell from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Barbara Acob from Yakima).
She had 13 brothers and sisters. Those still living are; Patrico Garcia from Longview, Louis Garcia from Mt. Vernon, and Frank Garcia from Vancouver.
She was preceded in death by her father, Placido Garcia, from Aguascalientes, Mexico; her mother, Ester Roman, from Toppenish and nine of her brothers and sisters.
Mom had a total of 12 grandchildren. Her direct descendants are: Melinda, Harvey, and Jacob Davis; and Nydesta, Leticia, Angela, Mitchell, and Madison Acob.
Mom had a total of 22 great-grandchildren. Her direct descendants are: Macaela Davis; Kamimsa, Sean, Jr., and Kwalani Goudy; and Tiauna and Kahee-loosh. Mom also had one great-great-grandchild.
Our Mother was a housewife and devoted grandmother who played an important role in raising five of her grandchildren; Melinda, Harvey, and Jacob Davis along with Mitchell and Madison Acob. Her grandchildren and family meant the world to her. She looked forward to our traditional Sunday family get-togethers. She received great joy from watching her "baby" Anthony play on local sports teams and from watching her grandchildren's activities. She will be remembered for her sincere loving and caring character. She thought of others before herself and instilled in her children the love that was reflected daily in her own life.
During her illness her family was referred to as the "Team Of Love", caring for her in her daughter Barbara's home as she had requested. The loving care and sacrifices given by us were the least we could do in return for the unconditional love she had always given. As a Christian it was her strong faith that brought her great comfort during her illness.
She left us with a message to take care of each other and to love one another. She will be greatly missed but her love will continue to radiate through the many lives that she touched.
Outside of our family, a special thanks to Karen Kivett, Ernie Reynolds, and Bob Hernandez for providing the extra care. Thanks to those who took the time to call or personally visit our mother and to Yakima Regional Hospice and Home Care, Dr. Ryan Moultray, the 35th Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church family, and the Valley Hills Funeral Home.
Her last wishes for her family were to continue to have our family gatherings each Sunday, that we continue our love for each other, and that we all accept the Lord into our lives so that we can be with her in heaven when the gates of heaven are opened.
There will be two viewings for those who wish to pay their last respects. The reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall behind the church.
