Michael Brandewie
D. Michael Brandewie, 59, of Seabeck died May 28, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born icon June 9, 1936, in Sidney, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Detroit with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering in 1961 and was a graduate fellow at Princeton University in 1981. On April 30, 1966, he married icon Clara J. Brandewie in Barnesville, Pa. Mr. Brandewie worked in Research and Development for the Federal Aviation Administration, retiring in 1994 as Senior Executive. Survivors include his wife; one brother, Richard of Monte Nido, Calif.; and one sister, Anne Sharp of Sidney, Ohio. He donated his body to the University of Washington. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. June 9, at St. Olaf's Catholic Church, 18943 Caldart Ave. NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370. Lillian Klein
Lillian F. Klein, 87, of Poulsbo died May 27, 1998, at Harbor House. She was born icon Nov. 28, 1910, in Madison, Wis. She attended school through the eighth grade. On Nov. 25, 1939, she married icon Walter Klein in DeBuque, Iowa. Survivors include her husband; two brothers-in-law, Richard of Bremerton and Carl of Steilacoom; and four sisters, Teresa Bender of Yakima, Rosie McCoy of Golden, Colo., Molly Bott of Broomfield, Colo., and Faye Hultgren of Denver, Colo. Glenn Kasten
Glenn Arthur Kasten, 62, of Bremerton died May 28, 1998, at Naval Hospital Bremerton. He was born icon April 10, 1936, in Marinette, Wis. He graduated from high school in Marinette. Mr. Kasten served in the Navy for 23 years, retiring in 1992 as a hull technician. Survivors include two daughters, Deanne Burch of Portland, Ore. and Debra L. Hebdon of Molalla, Ore.; two brothers, Jerald of Milwaukee and Roger of Layton, Utah; one sister, Sharon K. Cody of Burbank, Calif.; and one grandchild. Helen Sullivan
M. Helen Sullivan, 91, of Belfair died May 26, 1998, at her home. She was born icon June 12, 1906, in Minneapolis, Minn. She graduated from North High School in 1922 and Hamline University of Minneapolis in 1927. On June 30, 1934, she married icon James W. Sullivan in San Francisco. She is survived by two sons, Michael of Allyn and James "Corky" of Silverdale; two daughters, Jean Cooper of Bremerton and Marnie Marr of San Jose, Calif.; one sister, Kathleen Hull of Port Townsend; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975. Services will be at 6:30 p.m. June 5, at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Francis Nichols
Francis Jerome Nichols, 88, of Silverdale died May 29, 1998, at Northwoods Lodge. He was born icon Nov. 8, 1909, in Spokane. Mr. Nichols worked as a manager/broker in the finance and insurance industry. Leona McDonough
Leona Rosella McDonough, 79, of Silverdale died May 27, 1998, at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. She was born icon March 13, 1919, in Colo, Iowa. On Dec. 26, 1941, she married icon James H. McDonough in Princeton, Mo. He preceded her in death March 27, 1997. James Noble
James Kempster Noble, 76, of Belfair died May 29, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born icon Feb. 19, 1922, in Elizabeth, N.J. He graduated from King's Point Merchant Marine Academy and Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Noble served in the merchant marine and worked as a district sales manager for Longview Fibre. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, the former Patricia S. Challman; three sons, Robert of Port Orchard, Richard of Puyallup and James Jr. of Plano, Texas; a sister, Barbara Martin of Tenafly, N.J.; and five grandchildren. Edgar Lauer
Edgar N. Lauer, 90, of Aurora, Colo., died May 20, 1998, in Aurora. He was born icon June 30, 1907, in Sheridan, Wyo. On Jan. 13, 1931, he married icon Mina Dickey. He divorced and was remarried, to Thelma Selberg on Feb. 19, 1947. Mr. Lauer served in the Army for three years. Later, he worked as an electrical engineer for Design Division for 30 years. Survivors include one son, James of Port Orchard; two stepsons, Joe Selberg of Port Orchard and Bob Selberg of Bremerton; one daughter, Margaret Wesner of Aurora, Colo.; one stepdaughter, Karen Selberg Danskin of Vancouver; Wash., one sister, Evy Babione of Sheridan, Wyo.; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Cecil Martin
Cecil L. Martin, 67, of Port Orchard died May 27, 1998, at his home. He was born icon Jan. 13, 1931, in Springfield, Colo. He was a high school graduate. On Nov. 14, 1942, he married icon Darlene in La Grande, Ore. Mr. Martin worked at Bayview Subaru, retiring in 1995. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas and Douglas, both of Port Orchard; three daughters, Carol Hay and Teresa Christerson, both of Port Orchard, and Lee Anne Pillow of Tacoma; one brother, Forest Gordon of Oregon; three sisters, Clista Hasse, Viola Fager, and Edna Prince, all of Oregon; and 10 grandchildren. John Feddock
John G. Feddock, 88, of Port Orchard died May 26, 1998, at his home. He was born icon March 5, 1910, in Arcadia, Pa. On Aug. 31, 1932, he married icon Mary A. Tilka in Smithton, Pa. Mr. Feddock served in the Army Air Corps and then in the Marines. Later, he worked as an electronics technician at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 37 years until retiring in 1974. He is survived by his wife; two sons, John and Phil, both of Port Orchard; five daughters, Delores, Dorothy Summerill, Toni Huebert and Anna McIntyre, all of Port Orchard, and Mary Breaker of Bellevue; two sisters, Margaret Waage of California and Ethel Sokei of Pennsylvania; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Clarence H. "Curly" Eskridge, 87, of Bremerton died May 24, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born icon Sept. 26, 1910, in Harrington, Kan. He was a high school graduate. On Jan. 25, 1937, he married icon Marie Clausen in Bremerton at Charleston Baptist Church. Mr. Eskridge worked as a pipefitter at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for about 30 years. Patsy Goto
Patsy A. Goto, 55, of Silverdale died May 26, 1998, at her home. She was born icon Nov. 24, 1942, in Honolulu. She was a high school graduate. Mrs. Goto worked as a cashier. Survivors include her husband, Alan; her mother, Kiyomi Urata of Hawaii; one son, Ryan of Honolulu; two daughters, Lesley of Silverdale and Tammy Perez of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers in Hawaii; one sister in Hawaii; and four grandchildren. Walter Cothary
Walter G. Cothary, 74, of Belfair died May 24, 1998, at his home. He was born icon Aug. 28, 1923, in Olympia. He graduated from Bremerton High School in 1941. On Sept. 10, 1950, he married icon Louise Hays in Redding, Calif. Mr. Cothary served in the Army. He was a public school music teacher until retiring in 1978. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Anita Evans of Juneau, Alaska; three sons, Arthur of Seattle, Lynden of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Christopher of Pacific; one sister, Jean of Tenino; and three grandchildren. At his request, there will be no services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross.

Edmund Wolff
Edmund Wolff, 87, of Bremerton died May 23, 1998, in Bremerton. He was born icon Dec. 13, 1910, in Seattle. Mr. Wolff worked for Boeing for 37 years in the tool grinding department. In 1952, he started Wolff's Specialized Tool Grinding Service and continued to operate it until his death. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Gertrude; one daughter, Julie Wilkinson of Bremerton; one son, Rolf of Kennewick; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Donald Benzinger
Donald H. Benzinger, 67, of Seabeck died May 25, 1998, on Whidbey Island. He was born icon March 2, 1931, in Orchard Park, N.Y. On Sept. 8, 1956, he married icon Annie in Port Townsend. Mr. Benzinger served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Later, he worked as a planner and estimator for the Department of the Navy for 34 years, retiring in 1986. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Sean of Bremerton and Henry of Seabeck; four daughters, Catherine Treseler of San Anselmo, Calif., Teresa Rabb of Issaquah, Colleen Jones of Juneau, Alaska, and Christine DeBois of Issaquah; one brother, Richard of Chubbuck, Idaho; and one sister, Ruth Downey of Eden, N.Y. Donald O. Sears, 82, of Bainbridge Island died May 27, 1998, at Messenger House. He was born icon Feb. 2, 1916, in Chicago. He was a high school graduate. Mr. Sears served in the Army. Later, he worked as an electrician at O'Hare Airport in Chicago. He is survived by his wife, Marguerette; one son, David of Chicago; one daughter, Donna Robinson of Huntington, W. David Wood
David C. Wood, 56, of Jacksonville, Fla., died May 18, 1998, off the coast of Cuba. He was born icon Feb. 23, 1942, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He attended West High School in Bremerton. Mr. Wood served in the Air Force from 1959 to 1982, retiring as a master sergeant. He later worked as an E.O.D. specialist/recruiter for the U.S. Government in Jacksonville, Fla. He is survived by his companion, Rosalee Gibson; two sons, Kevin of Bainbridge Island and Brian of Seattle; two brothers, Roger of Mercer Island and Lary of Kent; one sister, Patty Beals of Boulder, Colo.; and three grandchildren. Walter Pursche
Walter E. Pursche, 75, of Kihei, Maui, Hawaii, died May 20, 1998, in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii. He was born icon Feb. 13, 1923, in Spokane. He married icon Cynthia Marie Pursche in Maui, Hawaii. Mr. Pursche worked at Walt's Westpark Service and Repair for 20 years, retiring in 1972. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Shari Jerde of Anchorage, Alaska; two brothers, Max of Seattle and Ray of Wasilla, Alaska; one brother-in-law, James House of Bremerton; one sister-in-law, RaeAnn House of Bremerton; and two grandchildren. Charla Richards-Kreitzberg
Charla Richards-Kreitzberg, 64, of Salem, Ore., died May 7, 1998. She was born icon July 2, 1933, in Bremerton. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1951 and earned a bachelor of science in nursing degree from the University of Washington. Mrs. Richards-Kreitzberg worked as a registered nurse and later earned her master's degree from Western Oregon State College. Survivors include two daughters, Dee Ann Smith and Donna Kreitzberg, both of Tualatin, Ore.; two sons, Brian of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Stephen of Portland, Ore.; and six grandchildren.

Thorleif Hageland
Thorleif Hageland, 78, of Bremerton died May 25, 1998, in Bremerton. He was born icon May 1, 1920, in Lennep, Mont. He attended school through the eighth grade. On Sept. 3, 1946, he married icon Marion Hageland in Livingston, Mont. Mr. Hageland served in the Army. He later worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Shop II, retiring in 1979. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Tamara of Bremerton; one brother, Arne of Alberton, Mo.; and one sister, Hjordis Crosmer of Monrovia, Calif. Doris Hay
Doris Alice Hay, 80, of Port Orchard died May 23, 1998, at her home. She was born icon Aug. 18, 1917, in Larson, N.D. On Aug. 20, 1943, she married icon Herbert E. Hay, who died Nov. 8, 1996. Mrs. Hay, a homemaker, lived in Kitsap County for 55 years and was active in the Sunnyslope Garden Club and Our Saviours Lutheran Church. Survivors include one son, Rodney of Port Orchard, one brother, Dean Johnson of Payson, Ariz.; and four sisters, Harriette Braseth of Moorehead, Minn., Gladys Doiron of Sun City, Ariz., Marlys Jones of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Addie Donaldson of Beach, N.D. Roy Wilshire
Roy Albin Wilshire, 85, of Bremerton died May 25, 1998, at Bremerton Convalescent Center. He was born icon March 7, 1913, in Galton, Colo. He graduated from Sumner High School in 1930. Mr. Wilshire served in the Navy from 1934 to 1944. Later, he worked at Keyport, retiring in 1963. Carrie Brant, 93, of Port Orchard died May 24, 1998, at Ridgemont Terrace. She was born icon Oct. 18, 1904, in Uvalde, Texas. She married icon her first husband, J.A. Harmon, in Uvalde, Texas, in 1925. He preceded her in death in 1936. She married icon her second husband, Levin Brant, in Los Angeles in 1943. He preceded her in death in 1958. Raphael N. Mastel Sr., 72, of Bremerton died May 22, 1998, at his home. He was born icon June 13, 1925, in Great Falls, Mont. On June 22, 1946, he married icon Angelica G. Roland in Great Falls, Mont. Mr. Mastel served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945. Later, he worked as a machinist mate at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until retiring in 1990. Monte V. Haugen, 71, of Bremerton died May 23, 1998, at Ocean Shores. He was born icon March 31, 1927, in Brookings, S.D. He was a high school graduate. On Aug. 24, 1951, he married icon Mary Jo in Bremerton. Mr. Haugen served in the Navy from 1945 to 1946. Later, he worked as a letter carrier for 31 years, retiring in 1982. Leonard Snyder
Leonard P. Snyder, 50, of Port Orchard died May 24, 1998, at his home. He was born icon Sept. 28, 1947, in Washington, D.C. He graduated from High Point High School in 1965. He attended the University of Maryland. On Nov. 21, 1971, he married icon Carrie Lambion Snyder in Leawood, Kan. Mr. Snyder served in the Navy from 1968 to 1974. Later, he worked as a nuclear test technician at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 23 years until retiring in 1997. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Brian of Seattle and Evan of Port Orchard; one brother, J. Robert Jr. of Harrisburg, Pa.; and his mother, Florence Snyder of Cornwall, Pa. Services will be at 2 p.m. May 31, at Port Orchard United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel. William Comyn Jr.
William Leslie Comyn Jr., 88, of Poulsbo died May 23, 1998, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center. He was born icon June 7, 1909, in San Rafael, Calif. He moved to Kitsap County in 1952. Mr. Comyn worked as a Realtor for JRO Real Estate Agency in Poulsbo for over 30 years. He is survived by several nephews, including Jeffrey of Seattle. At his request, there will be no services held. Arrangements are under the direction of Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove.

Joseph Bronaugh
Joseph C. Bronaugh, 79, died at Harrison Hospital on May 22, 1998. The Bremerton resident was born icon on Aug. 6, 1918, in Charleston, W. V., and was reared and educated in Huntington. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1940, served in World War II and subsequently worked on the railroads. Bronaugh married icon Jannette Gilk in Chehalis on March 8, 1947. He moved to Bremerton in 1958 and worked as a boilermaker in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until his 1974 retirement. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Joseph C. Jr. of Bremerton and Jeff of Redmond; one sister, Honor Mae Lowther of Buffalo, W. V.; and two half-sisters, Ruth Russo of Charleston, W. V., and Lou Fallet of New Jersey. Visitation will take place at the Lewis Funeral Chapel from noon to 6:30 p.m. May 26, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., May 30, at the Lewis Funeral Chapel followed military graveside services at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Marian Daniels
Marian Lorraine Daniels, 77, of Poulsbo died there May 22, 1998. She was born icon June 27, 1920, in Poulsbo. She graduated from North Kitsap High School in May 1938. On Aug. 20, 1938, she married icon Howard W. Daniels in Anacortes. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Sharon Lightbody of Spokane, Judy Wilkinson of Yakima and Sue Ellen Daniels of Kaneohe, Hawaii; one son, Richard of Shady Cove, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Glenn Lentz
Glenn "Andy" A. Lentz, 78, of Rochester died May 3, 1998, at Vencor Hospital in Seattle. On March 8, 1920, he was born icon in Fort Madison, Iowa. He attended school in Cairo, Ill. On Dec. 9, 1941, he married icon Florence E. Anderson in Seattle. Mr. Lentz served in the Navy from 1937 to 1941 and again from 1941 to 1944. He later worked in the civil service as a fuel pump operator at the Manchester Naval Fuel Depot, until retiring in 1966. Survivors include his former wife, Florence; two sons, Pal of Port Orchard and Don of Tacoma; one daughter, Sonia Cabrera of North Augusta, S.C.; one sister, Margaret Blodgett of Vienna, Ill.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. There will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. Donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Victor Stepper
Victor L. Stepper, 69, a long-time resident of Port Orchard, died May 18, 1998, in Tacoma. He was born icon Jan. 2, 1929, in Stanton, N.D. Survivors include his former wife, Viola Stepper; two sons, Ben Stepper and Dan Diaz; three daughters, Vickie Stepper, Velda Stepper and Veda Eichler; several brothers; several sisters; and seven grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. May 30 at King of King's Lutheran Church in Renton.

Mary Mason
Mary Louise Mason, 71, of Port Orchard died May 20, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. She was born icon Jan. 23, 1927, in Sandpoint, Idaho. On Nov. 23, 1944, she married icon James Mason in Seattle. Mrs. Mason was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Danny and Tim, both of Port Orchard; five daughters, Loretta Medlin of Elgin, S.C., and Ellie Brown, Peggy Ladenburg, Tammie Snedden, and Jeannie Johnson, all of Port Orchard; 23 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Betty Levandowski
Betty Irene Levandowski, 68, a former longtime resident of Kitsap County, died May 20, 1998, in her Burien home. She was born icon March 9, 1930, in Great Falls, Mont. She graduated from Great Falls High School, and obtained a bachelor's degree from Montana State University in Commercial Science Education. On April 11, 1953, she married icon Lawrence (Ted) Levandowski. Mrs. Levandowski worked as a teacher and an office manager. Survivors include her husband; her daughter, Joy Johnston of Atascadero, Calif.; her son, Von of Kent; her sister, June Lehman of Fremont, Neb.; and four grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. May 26, at Judson Park Retirement Community, 23600 Marine View Drive South in Des Moines. Memorials may be made to the University of Washington Medical Center.

Dale Jenniges
Dale D. Jenniges, 48, of Bremerton died May 19, 1998, at his home. He was born icon March 11, 1950, in Bremerton. He attended South Kitsap High School. Mr. Jenniges served in the Marines from 1969 to 1972, serving in Vietnam. Later, he worked as an ordnance mechanic at Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport for 29 years. Survivors include his daughter, Tressie Pommier of Poulsbo and his brother, Dean of Silverdale. Services will be at 11 a.m. May 30, at Rill Chapel with reception following. Dorothy Anderson
Dorothy Marshall Anderson, 87, of Port Townsend died May 15, 1998, at Jefferson General Hospital. She was born icon March 8, 1911, in Kalispell, Mont. In 1934, she married icon Harry Lee Marshall. He preceded her in death in 1953. In 1968, she married icon James E. Anderson. Mrs. Anderson worked at Fort Warden Treatment and Diagnostic Center until her retirement. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Joanne Wood of Seattle, Barbie Chambers of Poulsbo, and Margie Grondahl-Perkins of Poulsbo; one son, Richard of Forks; one sister, Arvesta Strayer of Spokane; one half sister, Opal Messier of Soldatna, Alaska; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Burial was held at Chimacum Cemetery icon on May 19.

Wilbur Wolfer
Wilbur Howard Wolfer, 82, of Silverdale died May 21, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born icon May 5, 1916, in Hollis, Ill. He attended South Kitsap schools and graduated in 1934. He also attended Bremerton Business College. In 1963, he married icon Thelma Wolfer. Mr. Wolfer served in the Navy from 1942 to 1946. Later, he was an owner/broker of Wolfer Insurance of Silverdale, retiring in 1977. Survivors include his wife; one stepson, James Petersen of Ellensburg; one stepdaughter, Janet Berry of Bremerton; his brother, George of Grapeview; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. May 26, at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home with reception following. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Robert Debman
Robert J. Debman, 56, of Port Orchard died May 18, 1998, at his home. He was born icon Dec. 22, 1941, in Aquashicola, Pa. He graduated from Renovo High School in Renovo, Pa., in 1960. On Jan. 10, 1978, he married icon Yukiko Kataoka in Alameda, Calif. Mr. Debman served in the Navy from 1960 to 1980. He was an aviation boatswain senior chief and a Vietnam veteran. Later, he worked as a project zone manager at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1997. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Donald Hazelwood of Port Orchard, William Debman of Florida, and Kenneth and Randy Debman, both of Virginia; one daughter, Kathy Rohlena of Port Orchard; one brother, William Jr. of Renovo; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. May 25 at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. Graveside service will be 9 a.m. May 26 at Sunset Lane Cemetery icon in Port Orchard. Edmond Zetzsche
Edmond William Zetzsche, 26, a lifetime resident of the Bremerton/Port Orchard area, died May 20. He was born icon Sept. 13, 1971, in Bremerton. He graduated from South Kitsap High School. Mr. Zetzsche was a home electronics assistant manager at the Fred Meyer complex on Wheaton Way. Survivors include his parents, Jerome and Carol of Port Orchard; a brother, Joseph of Astoria, Ore.; a grandfather, William Denaux of California; a grandmother, Barbara Wehr of Packwood; and a special friend, Danielle Ponting. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on May 22 at Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Gig Harbor.

Zella Todd
Zella Velma Todd, 94, of Bainbridge Island died May 15, 1998, at Island Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born icon March 10, 1904, on the family homestead near Bissell Lake. She graduated from Granger High School in 1922 and Cheney Normal School in 1924. On Sept. 12, 1926, she married icon Joseph Todd in Fruitland. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Todd was a teacher who taught two terms at Fruitland Grade School. Survivors include a son, B. Joe of Poulsbo; a daughter, June Sears of Chewelah; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. May 22 at the Spring Canyon Cemetery icon in Grand Coulee. Arrangements are by Poulsbo Mortuary.

Robert Simons
Robert L. Simons, 53, of Richland died May 17, 1998. He was born icon Feb. 18, 1945, in California. He was raised in Silverdale where he graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1963. He graduated from Western Washington University in 1967 and received his master's degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Washington. Mr. Simons was employed as a nuclear engineer for 30 years in Richland. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; three daughters, RenŽ Lane, Laura and Janel; two sons, Shawn and Gregory; his parents, Lynn and Dorothy Simons of Silverdale; two brothers, John of Dillion, Mont., and William of Silverdale; one sister, Cheryl Rezac of Central Valley; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Chief Joseph Junior High in Richland on at 1 p.m. May 23.

Vivian Proctor
Longtime Bremerton resident Vivian Ruth Proctor, 80, of Jefferson City, Mo., died May 18, 1998, at Villa Marie Nursing Home in Jefferson City. She was born icon Aug. 5, 1917, in Matoon, Ill. She graduated from Fort Dodge High School in Fort Dodge, Iowa, in 1935. On May 11, 1936, she married icon Allan A. Proctor. He preceded her in death. Survivors include five sons, Allan "Bud" of Phoenix, Gary of Atlanta, Brian of Manhattan Beach, Calif., Kent of Huntsville, Ala., and Wayne of Bremerton; three daughters, Kay Taggart and Linell Dozier, both of Jefferson City, and Vian James of Bremerton; three brothers, Raymond Hill of Seattle, and Harold and Leonard Hill, both of Fort Dodge; three sisters, Gail Fawkes of Ames, Iowa, Opal Stanberg of Fort Dodge, and Rita Willhoite of Lehigh, Iowa; 26 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 1 p.m. May 23 at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. May 23 also at Miller-Woodlawn. Donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

George Hubbard
George J. "Jim" Hubbard Jr., 55, of Tonasket died May 12, 1998, at his home. He was born icon Dec. 18, 1942, in Port Townsend. He attended Chimacum Schools, graduating in 1961. Mr. Hubbard served in the Navy and Air Force from 1961 to 1970. He then joined the Port Townsend Police Department from 1970 to 1972. He later worked for the state Highway Department out of Discovery Bay, until retiring in 1985. Survivors include his wife, Bebe; one daughter, Susan Gibbs of Poulsbo; two sons, George III and Don, both of Port Ludlow; one sister, Barbara DeMalo of Sequim; and four grandchildren. A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. May 24 at the Shine Cemetery icon in Tonasket.

Brian Johnson
Brian A. Johnson, 21, of Bremerton died in April 1996 in Bremerton. He was born icon Nov. 21, 1974, in Bremerton. He attended South Kitsap High School. He was the victim of a homicide. He is survived by his parents, Charles V. and Valorie Johnson of Port Orchard; one brother, Charles H. of Port Orchard; two sisters, Jessica James of Des Moines and Margaret of Port Orchard; and his grandparents, Robert and Margaret Mussman of Port Orchard. Services will be at 1 p.m. June 3, at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Chapel.

Noel Johnson
Noel E. Johnson, 52, of Belfair died May 20, 1998, at his home. He was born icon Dec. 24, 1945, in San Francisco. He was a high school graduate. On June 1, 1967, he married icon Theresa Bates in Santa Rosa, Calif. Mr. Johnson worked as a marine machinist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 29 years, retiring in 1995. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Patrick of Soldotna, Alaska, Michael, Chris, and Jacob, all of Belfair; two brothers, Robert and Jim, both of California; two sisters, Joan Ringlar of California and Barbara Matteri of Belfair; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. May 22. A funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. Both will be at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Belfair. Thomas Milovac
Thomas Milovac Jr., 82, of Yukon, Pa., died May 5, 1998, at Frick Hospital in Mount Pleasant, Pa. He was born icon Dec. 25, 1915, in Yukon, Pa. Mr. Milovac worked as an electrician in Pittsburgh. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy; three sons, Thomas of Yukon, Pa., Kenneth of Port Orchard, and Carl of Sarver, Pa.; and seven grandchildren. Services have been held.

Arlene Larsen
Arlene Marie Larsen, 67, of Bremerton died in May 1998 at her home. She was born icon June 27, 1930, in Bremerton. She was a high school graduate. On Feb. 18, 1948, she married icon Robert E. Larsen in Bremerton. Survivors include her husband; one son, Steve of Bremerton; and two sisters, Barbara Dunbar of Federal Way and Karen Breed of Mossy Rock. David Bushnell
David N. Bushnell, 54, of Bremerton died May 15, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born icon July 11, 1943, in Los Angeles. He graduated from high school in San Francisco, graduated from Barber College in San Francisco, attended San Mateo College, and attended Olympic College. Mr. Bushnell worked as a barber/stylist. He also served on the Disability Action Program to help provide better access for disabled students at Olympic College. Survivors include his mother, Louise Shingleton-Quast of Bremerton; two stepbrothers, James Shingleton of Clallam Bay and William Shingleton of Coffman Cove, Alaska; and a stepsister, Joanne Jaynes of Eagle River, Alaska. Gail Miller
Gail A. Miller, 56, of Bremerton died May 15, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. She was born icon July 17, 1941, in Farmington, N.M. She worked as an alcohol and drug rehab counselor for Northwest Teen Challenge in Seattle for 17 years. Survivors include seven brothers, James Mathes and Paul Mathes, both of Bremerton, Brian Mathes, Roy Mathes, Bill Mathes, and Karl Mathes, all of Port Orchard, and Dave Mathes of Belfair; and four sisters, Lois Jenkins and Cheryl Tecumseh, both of Bremerton, Jean Buchanan of Belfair, and Cheri Mathes of Gig Harbor. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. May 21 at Rill Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist.
