Delores Elaine “Dee” Hite passed away at home on Tuesday, January 9, 2007.
She was 59, born April 7, 1947 in Eureka, CA to Charles Ussery and Nola (Ross) Mooney.
Dee was an avid reader who enjoyed shopping, collecting elephants, and gardening.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a hard worker, a loyal employee, and taught her children many valuable lessons in life.
Dee is preceded in death by her fathers Charles Ussery and Leonard Mooney.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Raymond James Hite; sons, Donald and wife Tonya Cargill, Jonathan and wife Rhonda Cargill, Raymond Ussery Hite, Renard and wife; daughter, Vida Sabala; mother, Nola Mooney; brother David Johnson; sister, Therese Sesti; grandchildren, Ryan, Lorene, Ashley, Donna, Shane, Shelby, Arriana, Jesse, Courtney, Kaitlin, McKenna, Seth, Toby; and numerous other family members and friends.
A memorial service and pot-luck reception will be held on Sunday, January 21, at 1:30 PM, at the Moose Lodge in Bellingham, 1761 W. Bakerview Rd..

Alice E. Glass
Born in Lamola, Washington, on Aug. 31, 1913
Departed on Jun. 6, 2003 and resided in Lynden, WA.
Mrs. Alice Glass of Lynden, and life-time county resident, died at the Christian Health Care Center on Friday, June 6.
She was 89.
Alice was the daughter of Wallace and Janet (McRae) Frost and was born in the Lamola area of Eastern Whatcom County, on August 31, 1913.
She graduated from the former Maple Falls High School and on October 23, 1934, was married to Raymond Glass in Sumas.
A homemaker, Alice also worked at Kale Canning in Everson, for seventeen years and then was employed as a nurse’s aid at the Christian Health Care Center in Lynden, for twenty years.
Mrs. Glass was a member of the Nooksack Advent Christian Church and loved flowers, sewing, quilt making and knitting Afghans.
She also took great pleasure from visiting family and friends and sending them cards and letters.
Besides her parents, Alice was preceded by her husband Raymond in 1978, grandsons, Mark Linde and Shawn Glass and a sister Grace Oleson.
Mrs. Glass is survived by her daughter, Janet and husband, Carl Linde of Seattle; son Gerald, and wife, Janie Glass of Lynden; four grand- and seven great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Glass of Everson, and other relatives.

Henry C. Stadt
Born in Armour, South Dakota, on Jul. 18, 1918
Departed on May. 26, 2003 and resided in Lynden, WA.
Mr. Henry C. “Hank” Stadt, age 84, of Lynden, died at St. Joseph Hospital on Monday, May 26.
Hank was the son of John and Ellen (Buurman) Stadt and was born in Armour, South Dakota, on July 18, 1918 and moved with his family to Lynden in 1937. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was married to Bernice “Bea” Zylstra on January 7, 1944.
Hank learned to be a sheet metal worker while in the Army and following his discharge was employed by Lynden Sheet Metal for thirty-five years.
He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Lynden had also been a member of the Nooksack Valley Riders.
He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and most recently walking his two beagles.
Hank and Bea were faithful supporters of the ministry of the Kings Men of Song from Lynden, and traveled throughout the country to attend their concerts. Their attendance and support has been greatly appreciated by the choir and Hank will be dearly missed.
Beside his parents, he was preceded by his son-in-law, Jerry Bos; three brothers and two sisters.
Hank is survived by his wife Bernice “Bea”; daughters Lynn Stadt of Bellingham, Kathy Bos of Lynden and Joan and husband Zay Hubbard of Bellflower, CA; grandchildren, Tanna and husband, Juan Hernandez of Bellingham, Jeremy and wife, Brandi Bos also of Bellingham, and Justin Bos of Lynden; great-grandchildren, Isabela Joy and Alexandra Faith Hernandez; sisters, Frances and husband, John Snapper of San Diego, CA, and other relatives.

Earl Kobberstad
Earl R. Kobberstad of Lynden passed away in Belling-ham on Tuesday, March 27, 2001. He was 79.
A son of Curtis and Bertina (Nelson) Treaster, Earl was born in Leal, N.D., on May 24, 1921. Due to the death of his mother, Earl was adopted at the age of 2 1/2 by Olaf J. and Anna (Amundson) Kobberstad. He graduated from Ferndale High School with honors in 1941 and from Western Washington University in 1964.
On Dec. 25, 1945 he married Rosemary A. Davie in Bellingham.
Earl was a dairy farmer in Ferndale for 27 years, during which time he also drove a milk truck for Darigold for 18 years. He was a member of the local Teamsters union of Whatcom County and helped start the Mountain View Water Association where he was treasurer of the association for several years. He was a teacher for 25 years, with 22 of those years spent teaching fifth grade at Lynden Middle School. He was a past president of the local teachers union for Lynden and was a member of the Ferndale Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Kobberstad of Lynden; a daughter, Judy Rose of Jefferson, Ore.; three sons, Richard Kobberstad of Everett, Norman Kobberstad of Custer, Wash., and Jay Kobberstad of Custer; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Adair Meyer of Boerne, Tex., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Earl was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Treaster and Walter Meyer; and two sisters, Grace Stowell and Mae Whitmore.
Funeral services were held Friday at Ferndale Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Rev. Rick Moyer officiating. Inurnment was at Greenacres Memorial Park.
Services were by Moles Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Ferndale.
Hilda Blankers
Burial for Hilda L. Blankers of Lynden, will be at 1:15 p.m. today in Monumenta Cemetery followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. in Third Christian Reformed Church in Lynden with Rev. Jack Gray and Dick Vriesman officiating.
Mrs. Blankers passed away at St. Joseph Hospital on Sunday, April 1, 2001. She was 91.
A daughter of Berend and Tjeska (Dykstra) Brune, Hilda was born in Bemis, S.D., on June 11, 1909. The family moved that same year to Whatcom County.
On Dec. 2, 1931, Hilda married Ernest Blankers in Lynden.
She was a charter member of Third Christian Reformed Church and participated in the Faith and Hope Women's Bible Study. She enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Besides her husband in 1996, Hilda was preceded in death by six brothers, four sisters and a great-granddaughter, Nicole Ross.
Hilda is survived by two sons, Rev. Barry Blankers and wife Clarice of Ocheyedan, Iowa, and Arvin Blankers and wife Nelda of Lynden; two daughters, Sally Bouman and husband Steve of San Jose, Calif., and Sheila Bolkema and husband Dr. Scott of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Minnie Osberg of Bellingham, and numerous other relatives.

Fred Ringenbach
June 4, 1925 - February 6, 2007

Fred H. Ringenbach, a lifetime resident of Bellingham, WA, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2007, at age 81. He was born in Bellingham, on June 4, 1925, to Emma (Kirchhoff) and Fritz Ringenbach.
After an early graduation from Bellingham High School at age 17, Fred enlisted in the U.S. Navy on May 18, 1943, and served on the U.S.S. McConnell. He married Norma Ruth Bell on November 22, 1950. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2005.
Fred was a proud member of VFW #1585 and for 29 years of ILWU Local 7.
He had many friends. He would just pop in to say hi for a few minutes, then off he would go. Fred had a great sense of humor and a great wit. He loved to tease people, leaving them wondering if his story was true or just made up.
Fred loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, clam digging, and picking wild blackberries and mushrooms. His secret places for them all were only said to be “in the woods.”
As his children were often reminded, Fred never missed a day of school. He often was frustrated with the Seattle sports teams and would declare they couldn’t beat Lincoln School (his grade school), but he continued watching the teams faithfully.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Norma Bell Ringenbach; parents Fred and Emma Ringenbach; brother Clifford Ringenbach; and sister Lorraine Goodell.
He is survived by his daughter Rhonda Snyder of Anchorage, AK; son Dean Ringenbach and fiancée Marilyn, and daughter Karen (John) Picht, all of Bellingham; son-in-law Ken Snyder of Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Ken Snyder, Jennifer (Aaron) Little, Jacob Ringenbach, Amanda (Jeremy) Jones; great-grandson Jackson Little; and sister Marie Pierce of Bellingham.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 9th, at Bayview Cemetery, with a Reception following in the Bayview Chapel at the funeral home (corner of Lakeway and Woburn).

George Leman
George Walter Leman of Lynden, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 28, 2001. He was 67.
Born in Massachusetts, on June 7, 1933, George was raised and educated there until entering the U.S. Army and serving in the Korean War.
After leaving the military, he worked and traveled around the United States, and eventually came to Washington, 30 years ago.
He worked on farms in Skagit, and Whatcom counties, and for the past 20 years, he worked at the Guide Meridian Consignment in Lynden.
George leaves no known relatives. However, he will be missed by all the family and friends of George and Carol Vrieling, with whom he made his home.
Graveside services were held Tuesday in Saxon Cemetery, with Rev. Al Archer officiating.
Services were under the care of Gillies Funeral Home of Lynden.
