1917, the second youngest of eight
children. She was an excellent student
and excelled in French and Latin. She
met her husband of 64 years, Charles
Dannenhold, in Louisville. They were

Josephine F. McDonnell

Josephine F. McDonnell, age 90 of
Bellingham, born December 6, 1914 in
Bellingham to Fred & Josephine (Strand)
Kittredge. She was preceded in death
in 1972, and an incredibly patient
mother to her three boys. After her
boys were successfully raised, she
cared for a few children in her home
while their parents were working.
Because of her loving ways, these
children, including John & Noral, Sean
& Leslie, Gina & Bruce, Livy, Tanya &
Mikey “adopted” her as “Grandma Jo.”
They, their parents, their spouses and
now their own children have become part
of a large extended family who have
long since forgotten they weren’t died Dec. 15, 2004. She was died in 1957, Anne
moved to Bellingham to reside near her
family, who had left Saskatchewan for
British Columbia years earlier. She
worked in Bellingham as a visiting
nurse until 1979, and after retirement
she dedicated her life to the nurture
and comfort of her grateful family.
She enjoyed gardening and visiting with
her many friends.
