Bernice Jane Lundy
8/24/1902 - 1/10/2005
Bernice Lundy passed on to the Lord
January 10, 2005. She was death. She was death by her
husband, Charles; two daughters, Eileen
and Ann Marie; and one son, James.
Bernice is survived by her son
Charles “Bud” Lundy; daughter
Marybeth “Betsy” Lundy, both of
Bellingham; sister Ann Ranus of
Dunkirk, NY; four grandchildren, Chris,
Zoeanne, Michael, and Katrina Lundy;
and one great-grandson Jason Lundy.
Memorials may be made to Assumption
Church or Whatcom County Hospice. A
Vigil will be held at Assumption Church
on Friday, January 14 at 9:30 am
followed by a Mass of Christian Burial
at 10:30 with Fr. Frank Schuster
officiating. A reception will follow
Mass in the Stafford Room.
Agnes Zahnow Pritchow
8/13/1903 - 1/2/2005
Agnes Zahnow Pritchow, age 101 of
Bellingham, born in North Dakota
on August 13, 1903 to Gunder & Martha
Moxness, one of eleven children. She
attended school in North Dakota,
graduated from high school, and went on
to get her teacher’s degree at Minot
Teachers College. Agnes taught school
for a couple of years in North Dakota
before moving to Washington in 1933.
During the war, she worked for
Firestone in Ferndale. Agnes enjoyed a
lot of activities at the Senior Center,
along with sewing, public speaking,
poetry, reading, dancing, and baking.
She was preceded in born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on
November 3rd, 1956 and death by grandmother Louise
M. Tincher, step-father George Martin
Holman, and aunt Sharon Lee Gritten.
Survived by son Blake Dwyer Riley
Holman 19, daughters Ashley Elizabeth
Holman 11 and Megan Nicole Holman 8,
mother Elizabeth Anne Holman, sister
Linda McMullen, step-brother Stephen
Martin Holman, niece Jennifer Anne
McMullen, first cousins Richard Sparks,
Teresa Saban and many other family
members.
Gene was an avid reader and always
enjoyed a good book. He was intrigued
with outer space and Science Fiction
always captivated him. Gene was very
skillful with his hands whether
erecting a tall building, tending to
his garden or detailing and working on
cars. He also had a passion for
airplanes and flying. Gene was a loyal
and active member of the Iron Workers
Local #86 in Seattle. He will be missed
by many.
Private family memorial will be held on
Sat., January 7th, 2006.
Ole Ernest Korstad
6/24/1922 - 1/3/2006
Ole Ernest Korstad, age 83 of
Bellingham, went to be with his Lord on
Tuesday, January 3, 2006. He was married Jean
Fullner on June 15, 1947 at Immanuel
Lutheran Church where they were active
church members. They celebrated 57
years of marriage before Jean passed
away in 2005.
Ole will be missed by his children
Karen (Mike) Brewer, Kathleen (Greg)
Gundel, Jim (Pam) Korstad, Janet
Petersen; grandchildren Brenda Rigor,
Julie Scholten, Stephanie and Andrew
Gundel, John and Matt Korstad, Melissa
Petersen, Kristin LeClair; and five
great-grandchildren.
Ole was a devoted family man and a
great friend. He served his country in
the Army Air Corps during WWII. He
attended WWU after his discharge, and
later worked as a home builder and
cabinet maker. After he and Jean
retired they had much more time to
spend camping, hiking and beachcombing
with their family and friends. The
love Ole had for his family will
continue in our hearts and in the lives
of his grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel
Lutheran Church. Visitation will be
held at Westford Funeral Home on Sun
1/8 from 2-4 PM. Funeral Services will
be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on
Mon., Jan. 9 at 2 PM, followed by
burial at Immanuel born October
4, 1910 in Forest City, MO to Jess and
Minnie Guyer. She died in 1965. Betty’s next job was to
learn to drive, a task that took her a
while to master. Betty loved camping,
traveling, and especially dancing.
Betty is survived by daughters Mary
(husband Marlyn) Todahl of Bellingham,
Marcella Harms of Springfield, OR,
Doris Shirey of Everett, Betty (husband
Larry) Sargent of Concrete, WA, sister
Pauline and brothers Calvin and Gene,
all of Missouri, 11 grandchildren, 15
great-grandchildren and 10 great-great
grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank St. Francis
Extended Healthcare for their loving
care and support for Betty and the
family.
Visitation will be held at Westford
Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 8
from 2-5 PM. Funeral Services will be
held at Westford Funeral Home on
Thursday, February 9 at 11 AM followed
by a reception across the street at
Westford’s Broadway Hall. Cemetery.
