Mary Ellen Leonard

Mary Ellen Leonard, age 82, born in Ferndale, WA on July 20, 1917
to John & Augusta Weston, he was a
fisherman and laborer by trade. He
worked hard all his days to provide for
his family. He was a simple man whose
greatest treasures were his family and
friends. He made everyone feel that
they were the most special. His
favorite past time was digging clams,
and he always found the best spot to
dig. Next to his family, he was
proudest of serving his country. Dude
served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Later he joined the VFW and the
Eagles. He was the original “Dude” and
was always impeccably dressed.
Dude was preceded in Funeral Service will be held at
Westford Funeral Home on Friday, July
28 at 11 AM, with a Graveside Service
to follow at Woodlawn passed away
peacefully with her family at her side
on November 9, 2006 at the age of 73 at
her home in Bellingham. She was death just three days
prior to her passed away
Oct. 27, 2006 at Alderwood Care Center
in Bellingham. He was married his
loving wife Frances in 1966. He was
an active member of Bellingham Senior
Center, First Baptist Church and the
VFW. He was preceded in passed away
peacefully in his sleep on November 2,
2006 at home in Bellingham, WA. He was
passed away October
27, 2006 at home in Bellingham. He was
married Arlene Davie on January 1,
1947 in Bellingham. He owned Jim’s
Cabinet Shop for over 40 years, and
worked at WWU in maintenance from 1972
until his retirement in 1984. Jim’s
retirement hobby was family genealogy
research. He was a devoted husband
and a dependable father. Jim was a
skilled carpenter. He built two homes
in Bellingham, including his current
residence, which he built at age 70.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of
Whatcom County.
Jim is survived by his wife Arlene
Baldie, sons Ronald (wife Ethel) of
Pine, CO, Randall (wife Ruthanne) of
Hillsboro, OR, Brian (wife Caroline) of
Samish Island, WA, brother Bruce (wife
Pat) of Yuma, AZ, 12 grandchildren, and
21 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be
held at Westford Funeral Home on
Wednesday, November 1 at 11 AM followed
by a reception across the street at
Westford’s Broadway Hall.
