Lois Mae Harrington

Lois Harrington passed away peacefully on October 28th, in Phoenix, AZ, at the age of 83. Lois was a resident of Whatcom County, most of her life. She attended Welcome grade school and was a graduate of Bellingham High. During WWII she lived in Point Loma, CA where she would sit in a store window and paint pictures of soldiers to send home. She loved to paint and take pictures-she was rarely seen without a camera. Her other passion was bowling; she was a lawn bowler in her earlier youth taking the State Doubles with her mother. Her favorite memories were the days she bowled with her friends at 20th Century bowling alley. Lois was employed by Barr's Camera Shop for many years. Her beautiful smile and quick wit was always seen when she was working at what she referred to as "the shop." She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy& Eunice Lehmann; husband, Joe Harrington, as well as her dearest and closest friend of 48 years Earl Barr, Jr. Lois is survived by her sister, Viola Hanson of Everett; son, Michael Murray and wife Pam of Blaine, daughter, Shiela Murray Cernich and husband, Jerry of Alaska; grandchildren, Chris Lewis of Alaska, Trisha Wright and great-grandson, Tyler Wright of Alabama. Memorials may be made to the Whatcom County Alzheimer's Association. Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Sat. Nov. 11th at Woodlawn Cemetery with a reception to follow at the home of Terry& Barbara Hanson, 4980 Gilliam Dr. Bellingham, WA. Mary Muljat

Mary Muljat, age 86, of Bellingham, passed away peacefully Friday, November 10, 2006 at her home. Mary was born in San Pedro, CA on September 11, 1920 to Jack and Domina Zuanich. She graduated from San Pedro High School. On July 30, 1941, Mary married the love of her life, Frank Muljat and they went on to enjoy 64 years of marriage. In 1948, they returned to Bellingham, where they made their home. Mary's first priority was her family. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and an excellent homemaker. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren- they were a delight to her heart. Mary and Frank loved being near the ocean and enjoyed spending their winters in Maui, Hawaii. They opened their home to many extended family and friends from Mexico whom they kept in close contact with. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and her faith was always important to her. She loved to entertain and cook her wonderful Slavonian dishes and baked goods. Mary enjoyed her special ladies group and watching old Hollywood movies. She was always a true lady – patient, graceful, and elegant and her beautiful smile touched all who met her. Mary was preceded in death by husband Frank, Sr. in 2005, her parents and her brother Tony. She is survived by sons Nicholas and Frank Jr. and wife Sandee; grandchildren John and wife Diane, Michael, Jay, Troy and wife Heather, Alesha, Lindsey and husband Trevor Sharp; great-grandchildren Andrew, Cameron, Chloe, Marissa, Ashley and Bryce; sister, Minnie, brother John and many nephews and nieces. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, Nov. 17 at 12:10 pm followed by a reception in the parish hall. Graveside committal will be held at Bayview City Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the many wonderful caregivers that took care of Mary over these last few years. Peter Christos Tselios

Pete Tselios, passed away November 3, 2006 at home in Bellingham. Pete was born on November 5, 1970 in Philadelphia, PA to Christos and Stella Tselios. Pete moved to Bellingham in 1993 with his family and helped operate many local businesses, including Christos Restaurant on Samish Way and Fort Bellingham Market on Marine Drive. He graduated from Temple University with a degree in Political Science. Pete was devoted to his family and gave selflessly to all who came in contact with him. Pete is survived by his father, Christos, his sister, Star, brother Steve (wife, Angelina) and their daughter Stella Sophia, grandmother Sophia Stavridis and other family members in Greece. Memorials may be made to St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church or Whatcom Hospice. Visitation will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Monday Nov. 6 from 3-5 PM. A Trisagion Service will be held on Monday, Nov. 6 at 7 PM at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 11 AM at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, followed by burial at Bayview City Cemetery and a reception at the church.
Claudia Louise Savage

Claudia Savage, age 65, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006 after a battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 2, 1941 in Los Angeles, CA to George and Betty Savage. Claudia graduated from Pasadena High School and LIFE Bible College in Los Angeles, majoring in theology. Claudia worked in Glendale, CA and Beaverton, OR before moving to Bellingham in the mid 1980's. She worked for John H. Hodge, M.D. Ophthalmology, and Steven H. Swedberg, M.D., Ophthalmology until she retired in 2004. Claudia's faith in the Lord was very deep and she was always involved in teaching Sunday school and singing in the choirs. Claudia was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ron Savage. She is survived by sisters, Joanne Allen and Penny Wharton; brother, Bill Savage, all of Bellingham, brother, David Savage (wife Nancy) of Plum Canyon, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. The family wishes to thank Hospice for their care and support. A Memorial Gathering will be held at Lakeway Mobile Estates Clubhouse on Sun., Nov. 26 at 2:00 pm.
