Elizabeth Jean 'Bette' Tretwold
6/4/1926 - 5/21/2006

Bette, age 79, went home May 21, 2006
to be with her Lord and Savior. She
was married Robert Tretwold December
15, 1950. They have four children
together; Terri Lightfield of Lake
Oswego, OR, Greg Tretwold of Cape
Coral, FL, Leanne Trewold-Keel (Brad)
and Gary Tretwold, both of Bellingham;
and grandchildren Chris & Austin
Tretwold and Breanna & Josh Keel.
In her business career, she worked for
many different companies locally and in
Hawaii. Her career continued from home
where she did bookkeeping for the
family businesses. One of her favorite
life experiences was living and working
in Hawaii at age 21 with her two
friends Marge and Shirley.
Bob and Bette had 55 wonderful years of
joy together boating, traveling, and
most recently golfing at their winter
home in Palm Desert, CA. Bette enjoyed
many trips back to Hawaii. She loved
the flowers and always felt at home in
the islands. Her memberships included
the Bellingham Wheel & Keel, Bellingham
Yacht Club, Bellingham Golf & Country
Club, and Chaparel Country Club in Palm
Desert.
Bette’s greatest joy was her family.
She was a wonderful wife, mother,
and “GAM”. She had many very close and
special friends. She will be greatly
missed by all.
Special thanks to Joan, Michele, and
Vicki and everyone at Whatcom Hospice
for all their care. Bette asked that
there be no services, but requested in
lieu of flowers a donation be made in
her name to Whatcom Hospice Foundation,
800 E. Chestnut, Suite 1C, Bellingham,
WA 98225.

Elsie M. Eastwood
7/30/1931 - 6/15/2006

Elsie M. Eastwood, age 74 of
Bellingham, born July 30, 1931 in
Bellingham to Ole and Jenny (Hansen)
Jorgensen. Elsie worked for the
Telephone Company for over 30 years.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, playing
bingo and spending time with family and
friends. Elsie is survived by daughter
Suzanne (husband Ross) Lindquist of
Bellingham; son Tom (wife Debbie)
Fuller of Colville, WA; son Chuck
Fuller of Kalamazoo, MI; daughter
Virginia Starry of Gig Harbor,WA;
sister Irene Doughterty of Seattle, WA;
sister Carole Baker of Issaquah, WA and
her children Stacy, Jana and David; 12
grandchildren; and 3 great-
grandchildren. Memorials may be made
to Hospice of Whatcom County or your
favorite charity. A Celebration of
Elsie's Life will be held at Westford
Funeral Home on Fri., June 23 at 11:00
A.M. followed by a reception across the
street at Westford's Broadway Hall.

Mary Kathleen Flancher
8/31/1938 - 8/4/2006

Kathleen Flancher, age 67 of
Bellingham, born August 31, 1938 in
Bellingham to Marshall and Agnes
Witter.
Kathleen is preceded in passed away July 24, 2006. She was
death by her
husband, William Deyon, in 2002;
brothers Otto, George, Bill, and David;
and sister Sylvia. She is survived by
her daughter Jean Peterson of
Bellingham, son John Deyon of
Washougal, WA, grandchildren Dionne
Peterson, Lee Peterson, David Deyon,
and Heath Ogden; and nieces Gayle
(Raymond) Pattenaude of Bellingham,
Laurice (Duane) Reinke of Bellingham,
and Annette (Harold) Thompson of
Eugene, OR, nephew Dennis Johnson of
Seattle.
Memorials may be made to Our Saviour’s
Lutheran Church. Visitation will be
held at Westford Funeral Home on
Thursday, July 27 from 11 AM- 1 PM.
Graveside Services will be held at
Bayview City passed away May
16, 2006 in Bellingham. She was married Marlin Curtis in San
Diego, CA in 1952. Carol was an
excellent wife, friend, business
partner, mother and homemaker. She was
an avid reader and loved to travel,
especially trips to Reno.
Carol was preceded in Interment will follow the reception at
Bayview City born Dec. 27, 1926 to Robert &
Irene (Hammill) Scarlett. Barbara
worked for Nor-Bell Nursing Home as a
dietary manager until her retirement.
Family always came first for Barbara-
she enjoyed family gatherings and
spending time with the grandkids. She
loved animals, camping, gardening, and
playing cards. Barbara had a wonderful
sense of humor and could always make
you laugh.
She was preceded in Interment will follow at Greenacres
Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the
Arthritis Foundation, N. Puget Sound
Branch, 809 E. Chestnut St.,
Bellingham, WA 98225.
