Viola Miller Stevenson

Viola Miller Stevenson born in
Reading, PA on June 5, 1924, the 5th
child of Winslow Miller and V. Helen
(Garst) Miller. She was a graduate of
Temple University, earning a degree in
Business in 1946. She moved to
Richland, WA to join her brother John
Miller and her sister Catharine Lewis.
She met and Interment will be held at Bayview City
passed away August 9, 2006. Robert was
death by his
sons, Michael and Daniel. He is
survived by his daughters Deborah
(husband Arthur) Watkins of Seattle,
Victoria (husband Scott) Hughes of
Sedro-Woolley and Michelle (husband
Steven) Huizenga of Lynden, and by his
son, Douglas (wife Barbara) Smith of
Stanwood. He is also survived by his
grandchildren Christie, Justin, Annie,
Christopher, Melissa, Kyle, Rylen, and
Tate and by great-grandchildren
Kaitlin, Molly, Dakota, and Gage.
A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be
held at Westford Funeral Home on
Tuesday, August 15th at 11 AM followed
by a reception across the street at
Westford’s Broadway Hall. Committal
will follow at Woodlawn born Nov. 3, 1916 in Sulijelma,
Norway to John and Jenny Johansen.
Lilly was a lunch cook at Whatcom
Middle School with special friends
Tillie and Dorothy for 16 years. She
was an active Christian and a longtime
member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran
Church. When her children were young,
she was involved in PTA, Camp Fire
Girls and Boy Scouts. She was past
president of the Ladies Auxiliary of
VFW, William Matthews Post 1585. She
was also an active member of Cardinal
Rebekah Lodge #154 and an R.S.V.P.
volunteer.
After she retired, she and Byron
traveled many places in their
Winnebago; her favorite trip was to
Mount Rushmore. Every year she loved
to bake dozens and dozens of Christmas
cookies and deliver them to her family
and friends. She loved her garden of
vegetables that she and Byron grew each
year. She was preceded in Cemetery followed by a
Celebration of Lilly’s Life at 1 PM at
Westford Funeral Home, with Pastor Deni
Starbuck officiating. A reception will
follow across the street at Westford’s
Broadway Hall.
Louis Raffeale Geri
12/18/1918 - 6/28/2006
Louis R. Geri, age 87, born
Dec. 18, 1918 in Bellingham to Raffeale
and Teresa Geri. He and his wife Joyce
death his wife
Joyce in 1998, son-in-law Lee Pflueger
and sisters Mary Launer and Catherine
Geri. He is survived by his children
Donna Davis (husband Carl), Kathy
Stephens, Kris Pflueger, Lou Geri (wife
Cindy), Tim Geri (wife Cindy), Karen
Geri, Todd Geri (wife Cindy) and Lisa
LeVeck (husband Doug); grandchildren
Chad, Drew, Brett, Peter, Nick, Kryn,
Molly, Corey, Ryan, Mickie, Melissa,
Katy, Mark, Steven, Robbie, John
Michael, Kristi, Katie, and Jacob; six
great-grandchildren and his sisters
Pauline Geri and Augustine Berthiaume.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
made to your favorite charity. Mass
will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church (1110 – 14th St., Bellingham) on
Monday, July 3 at 12:10 PM followed by
a reception at the Parish Hall. Private
committal at Bayview City passed away Mon., May 8, 2006. He was
married Margaret “Peg” Upton, and
together they raised 3 sons.
Jim graduated from the University of
Wyoming and served in the US Air Force
during WWII. He was General Manager of
KGMI during the 1960’s 70’s. Some of
his radio innovations include the
creation of KISM and the “Talk of the
Town” program. He was known
to “inspire” people to always do their
best and constantly improve. Jim was a
member of St. James Presbyterian,
Bellingham Rotary Club, Bellingham Golf
& Country Club and the Bellingham
School District Advisory Board.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife,
Peg Hamstreet, in 2004. He is survived
by sons Chuck of Bellingham, Jim of
Sammamish, WA, Rick (wife Gaye) of
Randall, WA; grandchildren Jennifer
Hamstreet, Stephanie (husband Brandon)
Stremler and Kasi (husband Jerry)
Sasken and their children Serena, Faith
and Logan, also Jim’s brother Don (wife
Louann) Hamstreet of Wyoming.
Memorials may be made to the Margaret
Hamstreet Piano Scholarship, c/o
Western Foundation (MS-9034), WWU, 516
High St., Bellingham, WA 98225-9842.
Memorial Services will be held at St.
James Presbyterian Church on Tuesday,
May 16, 2006 at 2 PM. A reception
will follow at the church.
