Bob Rice
1/6/1940 - 7/4/2006

Bob Rice, age 66, born
January 6, 1940 in Bellingham to Clyde
and Alice Rice. Bob graduated from
Bellingham High in 1958 and the
University of Washington with a degree
in Business (he was a true Husky).
Running was always a big part of Bob’s
life- he was a “five-mile a day man.”
Bob owned and operated Rice Insurance
for over 20 years, and later became a
realtor with Coldwell Banker Miller-
Arnason. Bob was a charter member of
the Bellingham Bay Rotary Club. He
served on the Big Brothers/Big Sisters
board and was passionate about
children’s causes. Bob was gracious,
generous and thoughtful. He was always
loving and supportive of his family.
Bob was preceded in Cemetery.

Frances Delores Holmstrom
11/24/1936 - 8/10/2006

Frances D. Holmstrom, age 69 of Sedro
Woolley, born November 24,
1936 in a farm community in Fertile, MN
to Albert & Jorgina (Noto) Krogstad.
She was the 6th of 7 children. Family
was always most important to Fran- she
was the perfect wife, mother and
grandmother. She loved to bake, cook
and eat food! Favorite dishes include
lutefisk, lefse and Swedish meatballs.
She enjoyed knitting, shopping and
listening to gospel music. Fran spent
years as an administrator at a group
home in Marysville. She was an
unselfish and giving person, and her
faith guided her entire life.
She was preceded in passed away on April 26,
2006, on his 89th birthday. He was
death by his parents,
Joseph and Gertrude Kroll, sister
Gertrude Briscoe, and great-grandson
Jordan Malone.
Memorials may be made to the Bellingham
Central Lions, 2100 Ontario St.
Bellingham, WA 98229. The family
wishes to thank Merrill Gardens and
Christian Healthcare Center in Lynden
for their love and care of Matt and
Betty. Graveside Services with full
military honors will be held at Bayview
City died July 16, 2006 in
Bellingham, WA, at the age of 89. She
was married Col. Roger H. Hebner
(USAF Ret.) in 1967, and they spent
nearly thirty-seven years together
before his death in 2003. They
traveled extensively outside the U.S.,
and enjoyed visiting family and friends
all across North America. Evelyn
worked for many years as a secretary
and court stenographer. After her
retirement she went back to school to
develop her skills as an artist. She
received a B.A. in studio art from
Sacramento State University.
Evelyn is survived by her sons Lawrence
K. Nordell and wife Sarah (Bellingham,
WA), John P. Locke and wife Halie
(Portland, OR), Michael P. Locke and
wife Joan (Camarillo, CA), and Clifford
W. Locke (Hendersonville, NC), step-
daughter Mary Ann Clark and husband
Robert (Redding, CA), step-sons Lee
Hebner (Redding, CA), Anthony Hebner
and wife Pamela (Santa Rosa, CA), and
Roger M. Hebner, niece Lorene Johnston
and husband Ray (Lawrenceville, GA), as
well as twenty grandchildren and a
growing group of great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the staff at
St. Francis for their wonderful care of
Evelyn.
