George John Provias

George John Provias, a man of great
charisma and magnetism, born December 27, 1926 in Bellingham,
WA to John George and Marie Provias.
George graduated from Bellingham High
School and served in the U.S. Army
during WWII. He was a member of the
American Legion Post #7, where he
served as Commander. As owner of The
House of Provias and The Pro’s fine
clothing stores in Bellingham, George
was well known for his style and class.
George belonged to the Bellingham Elks
Club, Lions Club and King Mountain
Church.
He was preceded in passed away in Moses Lake,
Washington on Tuesday, September 2,
2008 while playing golf with friends.
Larry was death by
his parents. He is survived by his
wife Joann, children Sean Linville and
his daughters Hailey and Malia of
Bellingham, Christopher Linville of
Bellingham, Julie Bensel (Chris) and
their son Jackson of Portland, and Jill
Kranc of Portland, sisters Lois (Jim)
Boudousquie of Blaine, Lynda (Denny)
Florence Bellingham, and numerous other
relatives.

A Celebration of Larry’s Life with
reception will be held at Bellingham
Golf & Country Club on Monday,
September 8th at 11 AM.
Martin Joseph Blackman

Last Resided in: Bellingham, Washington
Martin Blackman, age 56, passed away peacefully at
her Bellingham home. Her beloved
husband Henry preceded her in born and raised in Whatcom
County. She was known for cooking great
dinners and baking Danish desserts. She
was a kind soul and will be dearly
missed by all those who knew her.
She is survived by her loving daughter,
Joyce Bruton, 3 grandchildren, nephews
Howard Webstad, Norm (Olga) Webstad,
and Glen (Lois) Pate, niece Nanci Berg
and very special friends Ron and Don
Arntzen.
A graveside service will be held at
Bayview City passed away September 16, 2008. He was
married in
Brooklyn, N. Y. in 1940. She passed
away of ALS in 1992. Joined the US
Naval Reserve in 1940 and was called to
activity duty on the US Phelps DD360 in
April, 1941. A survivor of Pearl
Harbor, World War II and the Korean
War, he attained the rank of commander
in 1962. In 1945, he went to work for
General Petroleum at the Torrance, CA
Refinery, transferring to Ferndale
Refinery in 1954. He retired from
Mobil Oil in 1978.
He was a fisherman, boater, bowler, and
computer hobbiest, a life member
Survivor of Pearl Harbor, Ferndale
Masonic Lodge, American Legion, Boy
Scout Leader with Woodbadge, DeMolay
advisor and lifelong member of the
United Church of Ferndale.
Bob was preceded in Cemetery with
military honors. A reception will
follow back at the church.
Dale Leroy Strickler
12/31/1930 - 9/16/2008
Dale Leroy Strickler, age 77 of Maple
Falls, made his transition Tuesday,
September 16, 2008 after a long
illness. His wife of 29 years,
Shirley Jean Strickler, was by his
side. Gravesude Services will be held
at Woodlawn Cemetery on Friday,
September 19 at 2 PM.
