Ruby Alberta Lowry born to Lilly Mae Parker-Wood and
George Ruben Wood on June 3, 1909 in
New Dayton, Alberta Canada while her
father was working there. When she was
a young child the family moved to Idaho
and at age eight she moved to Stanwood,
WA. After high school graduation she
moved to Bellingham where she met and
death by her husband Newton
in 1962, one sister Opal Brown, three
brothers; Irving, Olin (Bus) and Earl
Wood, and a granddaughter, Marci Green.
She is survived by one sister, Garnet
Ogden of Fairbanks, AK, three children;
Ned (Betty) Lowry of Renton, WA, Dawn
(Bill) Wells of Bow, WA and Molly
(Bobby) Green of Bellingham, five
grandchildren; Wenda (Dennis) Cross of
Burlington, WA, Paula (Bradley)
Mitchell of Eagle Creek, OR and Craig
(Rebecca) Wells of Burlington, WA,
Bobbi (Thomas) DeFlyer of Elma, WA,
Shawn (Roberta) Green of Bellingham, 7
great-grandchildren and numerous nieces
and nephews. Visitation will be held at
Westford Funeral Home on Thursday,
February 5, 2004 from 9 AM to 12 Noon.
Private family burial services will be
held.
Margaret M. (Beaty) Long
3/21/1911 - 1/5/2004
Margaret M. (Beaty) Long, age 92,
born in Alberta, Canada, March 21,
1911. Margaret moved to Bellingham in
1936, working in many canneries in
Whatcom County until retiring in 1965.
Being an active Atlanta Braves fan and
being with her families always put a
smile on Margaret’s face. Survived by
her four daughters, Gloria Day of
Bellingham, Dixie Beaty of Bellingham,
Joan Barr (Bob) of Ferndale, Betty
(Jerry) Henifin of Bellingham. She was
a Grandmother of 10, Great-Grandmother
of 16, Great-Great-Grandmother of 6.
Margaret lived life to the fullest and
will be missed by her many friends and
families. At her request there will be
no services.
Lisa Marie Shenk
12/17/1963 - 1/11/2004
Lisa Marie Shenk, age 40 of Bellingham,
born December 17, 1963 in Spokane, WA,
to Dennis and Gail (Gibbons) Shriner.
Lisa attended University High School in
Spokane. She later worked as an EMT
for Spokane Ambulance and also as a
volunteer firefighter for Millbury Fire
Department. In her free time, Lisa
enjoyed being creative with crafting,
making baskets, and knitting afghans.
She was preceded in passed away suddenly January
10, 2004. She was married to
Harold Sullivan for 35 years. She
worked many years at F.W. Woolworths.
Dorothy was preceded in Cemetery on Friday,
January 16th at 1:00 PM. A gathering
will follow at 2809 Michigan Street.
