Louese A. Brown Smith age 94 of
Bellingham, WA, born November 8, 1907 in Seattle,
WA, to Frank and Edith (Metcalfe)
King. Louese graduated from St. Lukes
School of Nursing and worked for St.
Lukes Hospital, Visiting Nurse, St.
Francis Extended Health Care and Dr.
Gilshanon. She was a member of the St.
Paul’s Episcopal Church, Maple Leaf
Chapter of Easter Star and was a Lukes
Alumni. Louese enjoyed gardening and
crossword puzzles.
Preceded in passed away June 4,
2002 at his residence. He was married Margot Miller
March 21, 1947 in Bellingham, WA. He
worked for Sears Roebuck and Co. 1946-
1975 and for Meridian School District
1977-1993. He was a member of the
Whatcom Art Guild and Bellingham Senior
Center. Earle enjoyed gardening,
reading, painting, the Mariners, poker
and bonsai.
Preceded in passed away March 16, 2002 at St.
Joseph Hospital. She was married
Caswell Farr in Tacoma, WA in 1946.
They moved to Whatcom County 41 years
ago. She was a member of P.E.O.
Chapter F and the First Congregational
Church. Mrs. Farr was a great cook and
was very dedicated to her family.
Preceded in passed away comfortably
at home surrounded by love on June 1,
2002. She was death by a nephew, Raymond
Hansen in 2001.
Survived by her nieces, Nancy and
husband Jim Frese of Bellevue, Bessie
and husband Tim Lintz of Bellingham;
nephews, Philip Hansen and wife Edith
of Lynden, Rodney Hansen and wife
Sheryl of Onalaska, Dan Mumford and
wife Penny and Greg Mumford and wife
Thelma both of Bellingham; and a sister-
in-law, Laura Quimby of Everson.
Graveside services will be held 1:00pm
Friday, June 7, 2002 at Woodlawn
passed away peacefully Sunday
afternoon, March 24, 2002. She was
86. Juanita was married Zerril Hickok July 12,
1943. Together they celebrated their
love with the birth of their two boys.
Her brother Ted Nickelsen, sister
Lorraine Shearer, and husband Zerril
Hickok preceded Juanita in Cemetery
next to Zerril Hickok’s grave. In lieu
of flowers memorials may be made to the
American Heart Association.
