Bessie Elvira Dickinson

Bessie E. Dickinson, age 99, of Nooksack, WA, passed away January 13, 2003 at her residence.
She was born November 22, 1903 in Cleon, MI, to Henry and Laura (Hewitt) Mayville.
Bessie married Allen Dickinson in Mt. Vernon, WA, in 1924.
She retired from Bumble Bee Seafoods in the 1970's.
She loved fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles.
Bessie was known for her fiery red hair and sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Dickinson, son, Donell Dickinson and daughter-in-law, Peggy Dickinson.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Dickinson and wife, Marlene of Bellingham, Herbert Dickinson and wife Mickie of Renton, Jack Dickinson of Sumner, a daughter-in-law Georgia Dickinson of Silverdale, and numerous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at Westford Funeral Home Chapel 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2003 with a reception following at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Carroll E. Lindell

Carroll E. Lindell was flown home on angel wings to be with his Lord, January 13, 2003, from Life Care Center, Mt. Vernon, with his loving wife, Georgie by his side.
Carroll was born in Bellingham, Washington, on June 2, 1917, the son of Carl E. Lindell and Blanche Mehan.
He graduated from high school in 1935.
In 1936, after finishing business college, he was invited to Baltimore, to take part in the setting up of the Social Security Programs.
Upon returning to Bellingham, in 1941, he worked on and obtained his C.P.A. in 1946.
Carroll lived and worked in Bellingham, for many years as an accountant, both working out of his own office and also with Walton Beverage.
Carroll met the love of his life, Georgie in 1973.
They were married in Victoria, B.C., Canada, on June 22nd, 1974.
After retiring from Bellingham, in 1979 they moved to Anacortes, and had many happy years on Edith Point Road at their "Chalet".
When the travel bug hit the happy couple, they moved to Mt. Vernon, where their condominium allowed more free time and less grass cutting!
Carroll and Georgie travelled extensively, especially loving their many cruises. .
They lived very happily in Mt. Vernon area for years.
Carroll is survived by his loving wife, Georgie of Mt. Vernon; brother, Ken Pierson of Bellingham; sister-in-laws, Marie Lindell & Phyllis Stewart; cousins, Evelynn Arrigoni, Maryanne Parker; nieces, Jeannie Henderson, Jackie Garioch, Margot Price, Andrea Litchfield and Pam Dougan; nephews, Jack Nordin, Greg Koyl; various great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Carroll was a lifetime member of the Elks Club of America and also volunteered his time with his church organizations while in Bellingham, Anacortes, and Mt. Vernon.
The family would like to thank all the people who did so much for our beloved Carroll in his final days.

Memorial services will be Monday, January 27, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Westford Funeral Home.

Jennie Yount

Jennie Yount, age 85, of Bellingham, WA, passed away January 21, 2003 at her residence.
She was born January 27, 1917 in Detroit, Michigan, to Peter and Anne (Hoogerwerf) Vander Putten.
She was a graduate of the Detroit Business Institute.
Jennie married Frank Yount on May 17, 1941.
She was a secretary for the Detroit School System for 6 years and was secretary for the president of Vernor's Ginger Ale Co.
Jennie was a member of AARP and Maple Leaf Chapter of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Yount of Bellingham; a daughter, Carol and husband William Converse of Bellingham; sons, James Yount of Richmond, MI, Robert Yount of Milford, MI and Charles Yount of Troy, MI; 9 grandchildren, including Elizabeth Chien of Redmond, WA, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at Westford Funeral Home Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2003.

Bertram Allan Peel

Bertram A. "Bert" Peel, age 100, of Bellingham, WA, passed away January 30, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital.
He was born June 29, 1902 in Vancouver, BC, Canada, to Thomas and Margaret (Humphrey) Peel.
Mr. Peel served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
He married Ellen Hansen in Mt. Vernon, WA in 1958.
Mr. Peel worked for Barlow's Leather Shop and later owned and operated Bert's Leather Shop for 14 years.
He also did custodial work and he worked for Saga Foods at WWU before retiring in 1983 at age 81.
He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Elks Club.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Peel of Bellingham, WA.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be held at Westford Funeral Home 9:00 to noon Tuesday, February 4, 2003, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Bayview Cemetery, with full military honors by VFW Post #7.
Bonnie O. Lindsey

Bonnie O. Lindsey, age 83 of Bellingham, WA, passed away January 31, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital.
She was born September 18, 1919 in Sasakwa, OK, to Ernest and Ora Wiley.
Bonnie married Elton Lindsey in Sherman, TX, in 1937.
She worked as a kitchen helper for the Ft. Worth Public Schools for 5 years.
What she was best at and loved was being a housewife and homemaker.
She liked to spend her time dancing and listening to country music.
She is survived by her son, Larry Lindsey of Bellingham, son, Jerry Lindsey (Jeanne) of Ft. Worth, TX, sister, Nancy Fowler (Bud) of Anacortes, brother, G.B. Wiley (Ruth) of Oklahoma City, OK, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and her companion, Percy Bond of Ferndale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Lindsey in 1988, and her daughter, Melessa in 2001.
A Memorial Service will be held at Westford Funeral Home, Thursday, Feb. 6th, at 11:00 with a reception following in the chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2120 1st Ave N., Seattle, WA 98109.
