Margaret H. Raffelson

Margaret H. Raffelson, passed away in her family home in
Bellingham, March 14, 2003. She was 83.
married to her husband
Lyman on December 16, 1946, in New
Westminster B.C., Canada, in her
parents home.
Lyman preceded her in funeral service. Please send any
remembrances to the North Bellingham
Fire Department. From our family, a
special thank you to the Fire
Department and all the people that
helped at such a difficult time. We
truly appreciate your help.

Ellen Lucile Crawford
2/28/1935 - 3/15/2003

Ellen Lucile Crawford, age 68, passed
away in her home on March 15, 2003. She
was married him on August 23, 1957. Sam
worked as a civilian for the U.S. Navy
for his entire career in Corona,
California, and Ellen supported him as
a homemaker throughout the remainder of
her life.
They had two sons, William Jay, born
on December 2, 1959. Ellen was a devout
Christian, and she imparted her faith
through the years to her family. She
was a member of the Church of the
Nazarene in various cities where they
lived. She served as a Deacon in the
Bear Valley Community Church, and
otherwise worked in many church social
programs and functions. Most recently
she has attended the "Pathfinders"
group at Christ the King Church in
Bellingham. Ellen took up ceramics as a
hobby, and for a time as a business,
operating "Ellen's Ceramics" as a small
shop in Weed, California. Sam helped
her develop a workshop area into a
social gathering room for many of the
local hobbyists to meet and pursue
their craft. Ellen's other hobbies
included porcelain, needlework,
reading, jigsaw puzzles, and home
decorating. In later years, Ellen lived
for the times she could be with her
children and grandchildren, and took
great pleasure in dining out with
family at least once a week.
Ellen is survived by Sam, her husband
of 45 years; sons William of Ferndale,
Washington, and Samuel of Bellingham,
Washington; brothers Glenn Carrier of
Hazelwood, Missouri, David Carrier of
Graham, Washington, and Kenneth Carrier
of California; sister Margaret Nickens
of Buena Park, California; and three
grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00pm
Thursday, March 20, 2003 at Christ the
King Church in Bellingham.

Norma Ellen Abigail Bates Price

Norma Ellen Abigail (Bates) Price
born June
11, 1922 in Gaston Oregon to Matthew
and Grace (Harding) Bates.
Norma was a graduate of Pacific
University in Forest Grove, Oregon and
was an active member of AAUW, Daughters
of the American Revolution, the
Aftermath Club and the Marietta
Community Church.
Norma born August 2,
1916 in Bellingham to Edward H. and
Frances Gragg Miller. John death by his sister
Jean Sommerville. He will be missed by
his wife Karleen, brother Robert and
wife Margaret, two daughters, Christy
and husband Jim Thompson, and Sherry
Gustafson, five grandchildren, Megan
and Jessica Thompson and Todd, Jayme
and Brady Gustafson.
Graveside services will be held 11:00am
Monday, March 24, 2003 at Woodlawn
Cemetery with Rev. Al Archer
officiating. Military honors by the
American Legion Post 7. A reception
will follow at the Bellingham Golf and
Country Club. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to the Lighthouse
Mission, PO Box 548, Bellingham, WA

3710 Williamson Way, Bellingham, WA
98226.
