Gunhild Sandness Hube, age 96, of Bellingham, WA, passed away June 8, 2003 at Summit Place at Mt. Baker.
She was born in England, on July 24, 1906 to Gerdhard and Amanda Sandness, and has lived in Bellingham, her entire life.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Ron Hube of Orange Park, FL.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Erwin Hube, and her daughter, Geraldine Anne Seppi.
Memorials may be made to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.
Marilyn Cecile Kack

Marilyn Kack passed away July 10, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital.
She was born June 14, 1925 in Fresno, California, to Clarence and Katherine (Cassidy) Knox.
She graduated from St. Vincent's High School in San Francisco, where she also ran the sprints on the track team.
Marilyn married Michael Kack on August 30, 1947 in San Francisco, where they lived and she worked as a secretary for the U.S. Navy.
Later, she and Michael moved to Fremont, California, where she worked for the Fremont School District.
Marilyn was a volunteer for Hospice and a member of the Legion of Mary and the Ridge Lions Club in Paradise, California.
In her free time, she enjoyed reading, swimming, and solitaire.
She will be remembered as an optimistic, hopeful, spiritual woman who led by example and was always calm in a storm.
She touched all those whom she met with her sincere patience and understanding.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Michael Kack; son, Michael Kack, Jr. of Hayden Lake, ID; daughter, Maureen DeRoos of Nanaimo, B.C; sister, Joan Miller of Fresno, CA; and two grandchildren, Jocelyn and Alex.
Visitation will be held at the Westford Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 14 from 9:00 – 10:00 A.M, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 A.M.

Carol Johnson Guderian
July 8, 1918 - July 29, 2003
Long-time Bellingham resident, Carol Guderian died quietly in her sleep July 29th.
Mrs. Guderian moved to Bellingham, in 1969, with her husband, the Rev. Dr. Lawrence E. Guderian, when he was appointed pastor of Garden Street Methodist Church.
Carol's primary interest was music.
She played in the Portland Junior Symphony at age 13, and majored in violin performance at Willamette University, where she met her husband.
She also played piano and organ and served as organist or substitute organist for her husband's church charges and in Bellingham, wherever she was needed.
In 1964, she co-founded the "Oregon Artist Concert Series", and began teaching piano, which she did until 1995, while continuing to study piano technique and teaching methodology.
Upon her husband's retirement in 1979, they began to attend St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where Carol spearheaded the organ rebuilding project and fundraising for the project as well as serving on the Altar Guild, and singing in the choir, sometimes serving as church organist.
As well as being active in her church, Carol Guderian was an active member of the Bellingham Music Teachers Association, P.E.O., was co-founder and secretary for the organization "Citizens for Justice", active in the Eldridge Historical Society, and a 50-year member of Eastern Star.
She is survived by three children: Mark Guderian of New Britain, Connecticut; two daughters: Marcia Guderian and Nancy Whyte and her husband, Joseph Deacon of Bellingham; two grandchildren: Nina Deacon and Charles "Dave" Whyte, as well as two brothers: Wendell Johnson of Sacramento, California; Darlow Johnson of Springfield, Missouri; and a sister, Roberta Riser Hackett of Portland, Oregon. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Whatcom County.
Memorial Services will be held at St Paul's Episcopal Church, Thursday, Aug. 7th at 1 P.M., with Fr. Kevin Allen officiating.
Annie Herrald MacLane

Annie "Tibbie" MacLane, age 98, passed away July 24, 2003 at Christian Health Care Center in Lynden.
She was born May 22, 1905 in Edinburgh, Scotland, to George and Elizabeth (Collins) Herrald.
Annie moved to Washington, in 1941, and married Captain Gordon W. MacLane of the U.S. Coast Guard in Ketchikan, AK, in 1945.
She made her home in Whatcom County, for the past 62 years, where she lived in Bellingham.
Upon Gordon's retirement, they traveled extensively together in Europe, and the Far East, and particularly enjoyed regular visits to Hawaii.
Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Captain Gordon MacLane, in 1980.
She is survived by cousins; Linda & Gordon Sinclair, Bob & Arthur Affleck of Vancouver, B.C., and Catherine Adams & Gordon Herrald of Williamsburg, Virginia.
Also survived by her step-daughter, Betty Ann MacLane of Seattle.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Paul J. Cochran

Paul Jean-Pierre Cochran, Born May 6, 1956-Passed away August 3, 2003.
He lived in Whatcom County, in the later 70's, and returned to Whatcom County, in the last 2 years.
He is survived by 3 children; John Cochran of Phoenix, AZ; Paul Russell of Phoenix, AZ; and Wendy Russell of Fredricksburg, VA. Survived by one sister, Linda Cochran of Bellingham, WA; aunt, Denise West of Phoenix, AZ; cousins, Dennis West and Patrick West of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins of Bellingham, WA.
Also survived by special friends, Julia White and Christopher White of Bellingham, along with many friends through everyday staffing and Old Town Christian Ministries.
Paul was a very loving and caring person who was always helping someone.
Barbara Jane Dillon
3/25/1933 - 8/7/2003
Barbara Dillon, age 70, passed away August 7, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital.
She was born in South Bend, Indiana, on March 25, 1933 to Walter and LaVerne (Harms) Haley.
After graduating from Lock Port High School, she served in the U.S. Army and the Air Force as a secretary.
Barbara was also a secretary for the Department of Energy as a civilian for 30 years, along with working for MAAG in Tehran, Iran. She was a member of St. Raymond's in Joilet, Illinois, and also a member of Assumption Parish after she moved to Bellingham, in 1988. In her free time, Barbara enjoyed gardening, reading, walking, and aerobics.
She is survived by her loving husband of close to 50 years, Richard Dillon; daughter, Colleen Anderson of Bellingham; daughter, Kathleen Kelley of Kennewick; and grandchildren, Sonny, Susy, Eileen, Jenna, Dylan, and Mackenzie.
A visitation will be held Sunday, August 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 at Westford Funeral Home in Bellingham, Washington, as well as Monday from 9:00 am – 12:00.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, August 11 at 1:00 PM at Bayview Cemetery, with Kathy Ernst officiating.
Arlene C. Brown

Arlene Carol Brown, age 70, passed away on January 10, 2007, in Auburn, WA.
She was born on August 4, 1936, to Howard and June Fleck in Bellingham.
Arlene attended Bellingham High School and graduated with the class of 1955.
She later obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Western Washington State University.
For 20 years, she worked as a retail security officer and was security manager for Valu-Mart, The Bon Marche, Nordstrom, and Frederick and Nelson. Arlene retired from the Kent School District after spending several years working with special needs children.
After retiring in 2000, Arlene and Dale moved to Conconully, WA, where she was active in the community and they attended the Little White Church on the Hill.
Arlene is survived by her husband, Dale Brown of Conconully, WA; three daughters: Teri Westman (John), Lynne Gross (Aaron), and Dori Hecker (Bill); four stepchildren: John Brown (Kathryn), Angie Brown (Mike), Steve Brown (Christine), and Marty Brown (Teresa); 13 grandchildren: Jeff, Brad, Kristi, Aaron, Patrick, Nels, Tova, Jacob, Mikail, Sarah, Nason, Dillon, and Ella; and 3 great-grandchildren: Bailey, Elijah and Hailey.
Arlene will be missed by her family and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance or the St. Joseph Medical Center Hospice in Tacoma, WA.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 17th, in the Bayview Chapel at the funeral home, 2465 Lakeway Dr. in Bellingham (360-733-0510).
