Virginia Niemi, age 95, of Bellingham, passed away November 16, 2003 at Mt. Baker Care Center.
She was born on October 8, 1908 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Charles & Julia (Hauser) Carlson.
Virginia moved to Whatcom County, in 1945 and worked here as a cook and a restaurant owner.
Virginia attended St. Joseph's Adult Day Health Center for many years.
She loved to make ceramics, crafts, and play bingo.
In her younger days, she sewed, designed clothing, oil painted, and drew.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Bellingham 2nd Ward.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy and husband, Ordean Willand of Goodyear, AZ; her son, Laurie (Skip) Niemi, Jr. of Omaha, NE; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

E. Keith Chamberlain

E. Keith Chamberlain, age 95, passed away Friday, November 21, 2003 in Bellingham, WA.
Keith was born December 29, 1907 in Bowling Green, MO, to Clem and Mae Chamberlain.
The family moved to Hannibal, MO, in 1909, where he lived until entering the U.S. Army in 1942.
He served in Europe until 1945.
He moved to Lansing, Michigan, in 1946, where he married Evelyn Cutler in 1954.
The couple moved to Bellingham, in 1977, where he enjoyed golf and bridge.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; step-son, Marc Cutler; step-daughter, Kadee Wilson; all of Bellingham; and his niece, Linda Sue Ford of Whiteboro, TX.
The family will hold services in the spring.
Everett Alva Minaker
7/26/1923 - 11/20/2003
Everett Alva Minaker, age 80, of Bellingham, passed away November 20, 2003 at Bellingham Health Care.
He was born July 26, 1923 in Sumas, WA, to Alva and Hilda (Tom) Minaker.
Bud worked at Bellingham Cement Plant for 30 years, from 1950 – 1980.
Bud loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.
He was a good carpenter& liked making lawn furniture, lawn ornaments, and toys.
He loved animals and made a pet of everything on the farm.
He was raised on a farm in Sumas, and raised his family on a farm in Blaine.
He will always be remembered for the twinkle in his eyes, his quick smile, and the love he had for his family and friends.
Bud is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lorraine Minaker of Bellingham; son, Gary Minaker of Bellingham; son, Steve (Mary) Anderson of California; daughter, Linda (John) Boyar of Ferndale; daughter, Gayle Teague of Bellingham; seven grandchildren, Tracie, John, Lorinda, Jennifer, Jerrie, Jeremy, and Gina; and eleven great-grandchildren.
There will be a Memorial Reception at Westford's Broadway Hall on Tuesday, November 25 at 2:00 PM.

Fred F. Pazaski
6/20/1922- 11/26/2003
Fred F. Pazaski, age 81, of Bellingham, WA, passed away on November 26, 2003 of a stroke with many loved ones at his side.
He was born June 20, 1922 in Mitchell, South Dakota, to Fred and Carrie Pazaski.
In 1924, his parents, three brothers and sister moved to Bellingham.
He served for one year in the Civilian Conservation Corps fighting fires in the North Cascades.
He started work at Northwest Cycle Company at the age of 14 in 1937.
During World War II, Fred served for three and one-half years in the Coast Guard.
After the war, Fred returned to Northwest Cycle and eventually became part owner of the motorcycle business and retired at the age of 55.
Besides his many friends and family, Fred's love was Harley Davidson motorcycles and was known throughout North America, for his tremendous knowledge of Harleys.
He was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association with a Member #33.
Fred was also a lifetime member of the Mount Baker Motorcycle Association, Member# 1, and was extremely active in this organization serving many roles within it.
He was also an accomplished flat track racer from the early 40's to the early 60's, till he was 45 years old and had the honor of being voted "Whatcom County Sportsman of the Year" in 1962.
After Fred's retirement with NW Cycle, he worked for Trev Deeley Imports in Canada, as a museum curator for their motorcycle museum.
There his incredible knowledge of motorcycles was put to full use and many of his restorations can be found in countless motorcycle books, magazines and calendars.
He has numerous motorcycles on loan at the museum for all to admire.
Fred also was a part-time gillnet fisherman and could work from his beach in front of their house.
He also spent a lot of time at their second home in Colville, WA – a log home he built.
Fred was also a member of the American Legion - Albert J. Hamilton Post #7, Elks BPOE #194, Bellingham Yacht Club, Bellingham Land Cruisers, Harley Owners Group, PNW Motorcycle Association, Antique Cycle Club of America, and a past member of the Bellingham Jaycees.
Fred is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gerry; their daughter, Jill Blair and son-in-law, Jim, Bellingham; daughter, Paula Hovde and son-in-law, Don, Bellingham; son, Kevin and daughter-in-law, Kathy, Sammamish; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Sunday, November 30 from 2 – 4 p.m.
A celebration of his life will be held Monday, December 1st 11:00 AM at Faith Lutheran Church.
There will be a brief visitation before the services, from 10 – 10:45 am.
Following the services, there will be a Graveside Burial at Greenacres, returning to Faith Lutheran afterwards for a remembrance gathering.
